I have downloaded AutoCAD 2012 and when I try to open it my computer automatically shuts off without even openig AutoCAD. I tried downloading the newest version of AutoCAD 2013 and it does the same thing. Inventor fusion seems to open and work properly but not AutoCAD.
View 1 RepliesI've found an issue with 3ds Max 2012, when I open/upgrade my 2011 scene, max will crash immediately and every time. I used a 'binary search' approach to figure out what part of my 2011 file/scene was failing to import by exporting half of it, importing it and seeing if it crashed, if so, I'd split that half in half again and repeat until I got down to the offending object. I managed to get down to a single Loft object, which when exported (Save As > Save Selected) just on it's own would cause 2012 to crash on opening it.
It's not a biggy for me as I can just delete the offending object and carry on.
I'm not quite sure why there isn't a try-catch block around the entire import/load file function inside 3ds max, so that if/when max exceptions it won't bring down the entire application? I guess making this a safe transactional operation would be fairly difficult.

A simple windows form command dll to test within the VS2012 + AutoCAD 2012
Bug: when debugging with VS2012, the first command runs fine and I can debug it with breakpoints etc etc. However, after the first debugging session, if I try "File"->"Open" or "New", file dialog will popup and then my AutoCAD 2012 crashs.
It won't happen if I compiled the dll, and load directly from AutoCAD independantly running instance.
When i attempt to change any value of any dimension style, i am no longer given the 'Ok' option to finish and close the dialogue box. Instead i get an error code.
I recall that it arose when using civil 3D 2013 (which i've since uninstalled) and has continued into AutoCAD 2012 (installed post civil 3D 2013 uninstall).
I just installed 2012 with the Inventor pro suite. when I tried to open multiple dwg's it locked up on certain dwg's and I got the error " no cavas click on new canvas". I read an existing post that said
"I went into the CUI, current workspace, removed the Sketchbook Designer from showing in the Ribbon"
I could not find this in my cui current workspace and is this the best solution?

After upgrading/switching my stand alone license from Civil 3D 2011 to Map 3D 2013, my computer is crashing before a complete opening of some larger dwgs (1575 KB). Sometimes I get an Out of Memory message.Other (much smaller) drawings open fine.The switch from Civil to Map was made because we were not using any of the civil bells and whistles that make it unique.
Map suits our needs. We use shp files (data connect) to generate most of our work.I can use another computer in our office that has Map 3D 2011 and am able to open up any of the drawings with no problems. Because I had no issues with Map 3D 2011, I thought moving up to 2013 would be "easy".
We have a subscription and every couple of years try to load up the latest and learn to live with it.Now I am wondering if we can all just go to Map 2011 and forget 2013.
The company I am working for has the old 2000 version of AutoCad. They send me drawings with blocks and attributes. But when I start working on them the system will lock up and not let me do anything else. I can maybe get two or three commands in then it will lock up. It doesn't even let me send a C.E.R. (customer error report) I have downloaded all of the service packs and the hot fixes but the problem persists. I don't where to go from here. My co worker thinks it may be a memory problem but I doubt it.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am building a custom batch update for our drawings to take border definitions as well as custom iproperties from a current template and push them into a specified inventor dwg file. I built a form for the users to select the template they want to import into a list of files they place in the form. The program opens the template, get's all the information (iproperties, border defs, etc... using the active document to get the document) then iterates through the list of the users doing the following for each file (also getting the active document to get the items in each file): open, replace border definition, insert any non-existent custom iproperties, save and close the file. It works great when I keep the open visible set to true for the files. When I switch the visible property to false for each one of the files I want to open I get an error similar to this: Systems.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Inventor._DocumentClass' to type 'Inventor._DrawingDocument'. at ---- then my button click event here.
Does inventor technically not see a document as an active document if the file is not visible when opened?
Mudbox try to open up. it crashes. Window 7 64 bit get me error and saying they let me know of fit/ Here the problem detatil. about to unstatll and restall.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was working on setup up several camera animations in a file. I saved the file, and put the settings in for all 4 cameras to render. I started Batch Render running, it saved, began rendering the first frame and then Maya crashed. It was able to save a .mb version as it was closing. I have since been unable to get either file to open correctly.
If I try to directly open the files, they load 100%, the status bar immediately switches to "Writing <username>.20110503.<time>.ma" and the Crash Reporter appears before the viewport can even update and show the model.
If I try importing either file into a new document, it will load completely, and a dialog window pops up with: Could not save file"/var/folders/FL/FLo7J2o4H4OV9SDiREDU4U+++TI/-Tmp-/thompirson.20110503.1216.ma".
If you click OK, Maya crashes without the Crash Reporter opening.
I have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
Why does Photoshop cs4 crash when opening a file? (Mac OS 10.6.8) I've rebuilt pref.'s and reinstalled Photoshop with no positive results. I can create a new file but cannot "place" anything because that crashes as well.

View 5 Replies View RelatedAny time the gateway scans a directory, which has a clip that has stereo audio, Smoke hangs. Is this a bug? Specifically the file was a Canon 7D file which had audio recorded with it. The crash does not happen when we try a file without audio or a file whose audio has been converted to mono. The file was directly from the camera. Same thing happens when it is a Prores HQ file with Stereo audio.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have installed Autocad 2012 LT on Windows XP sp3. The program opened and worked fine after the install. The user was not sure they wanted this version so I did not activate the program right away. After the user decided they wanted to keep this version I activated the program with a license and now the program will not open. Crashes and does not give an error message.
I have tried to uninstall and re-install. I uninstalled netframework 3.5 sp1 and re-installed, still will not open.
The program opens normally and after 3-5 seconds I get a blue screen crash. Just before the crash, photoshop displays a message about a problem with the display driver and GPU. I am unable to read the entire message before the system crashes. I re-installed the video driver and CS4 but the problem persists.

I have the Creative Suite 5.5. Illustrator starts, but trying to open (.ai or .pdf) or save a file causes it to crash.
I have deleted the preferences folder.
used uninstaller to uninstall complete Creative Suite package. Used Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool.app afterwards. Reinstalled. Still it crashes.
Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat Pro all seem fine.

Is there a way to prevent Ai CS5 from re-opening documents after a crash?
I think a specific document is causing Ai to crash, so after Ai crashes, it tries to re-open the file when I restart Ai, then it crashes again - ad infinitum!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently loaded several versions of AutoCAD on to a Windows 7 machine. ALL versions will open a drawing if double-clicked from windows explorer, but if I try to open through AutoCAD, the program freezes as soon as I click on the "Open" button. This is true for AutoCAD 2010 through 2012.

I also cannot open multiple instances of ANY version of AutoCAD in Windows 7.
After ugrading to LR 3.5 I have not be able to print an image. Each time I move to the Print Module the systems crashes with the error message "Adobe Light Room has stopped working". My viedeo card is an ATI Radeon HD 5570 and I have no problems printing from any other program including Qimage. Windows 7 64bit updater shows all updated to the OS have been made. All the other functions in LR are working normally. Only the print functions seems to be failing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had premiere fail to open for a while now on one of my secondary PC's. This computer was setup with a network drive as its disk cache/links to projects. This is so multiple editors can work off the same RAID. Works perfectly, aside from the fact that windows somehow unlinked the network drive. Once this happened premiere fails to launch and crashes when starting the program.
I had got the network drive linked back up at one point and premiere launched again running with zero problems. Again windows messed up the network drive, and premiere again, does not work.
I need to reset the settings for premiere (the disk cache settings).
THINGS I'VE ALREADY TRIED: I already tried holding Ctrl + Shift to reset, did not work. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the settings were not removed and program keeps crashing.
I would just relink the network drive and then once premiere launches change the disk cache and never do that again, but sadly the computer will not relink to that partical drive.
I'm running windows 8, latest version of CC (just updated). I have 32gig Ram, I7 processor overclocked to 4.4GHz, Nvidia Graphics.
I had a crash on exiting Inventor 2012 (fully up to date, service packs installed etc.) and since that crash I can't open any drawing (.idw) file in Inventor: it appears to hang, with no processor activity etc.
The same files open, view and print fine with Inventor View.
