I'm still learning after effects and having fun with it. I'm just curious about something. Is there a way to eliminate the depth of field with particles? Example: When I zoom out with the camera in CC particle world, the particle (energy wave I create) goes blurry. Is the depth of field a default option? Cause when I create a camera the depth of field is off.
If I generated FG maps with interpolation of every 3 frames and I use read FG points at every 2 frames. Would this be wasting my time? Would it be better if I just set it to 0? Once it starts rendering it comes up with warning signs saying it can't find specific FG maps which is understandable. Would max have to generate new ones (because this would be a waste of render time) and if it does can I somehow just tell it not to?
It is an animation that I am rendering (moving car and moving camera).
I installed After Effects pretty much without changing anything, so the settings are more or less default. I'm using a Macbook Pro with OS 10.6.8 and After Effects CS6
I have enabled media and disk cache, max disc cache is at 100GB and I have an external drive (with 900GB spare) as the volume selected beneath that option. My internal SSD has not much spare on it. I previously had the internal SSD as the disc cache and still had this same problem.
My project is 1920 x 1080 25fps - And I'm trying to render to Quicktime. I've tried rendering to stills and then outputting to Quicktime (so as to have less computational effort), then running them through but the same problem persists.
If After Effects is the application in focus the project renders fine.
If After Effects is not the application in focus - ie. I work with it rendering in the background, the 'FINISHED' sound plays and the render is cut short a short while after I started working in another program.
The project render time is about an hour, so it's not really convenient.
My AE comp renders as a full-length video of a black screen (with audio, when enabled). Comp plays fine in RAM preview, and I've tried all types of codecs and disabling RAM intensive effects, though I'm working on a quad-core i7 macbook pro with 8 gigs of RAM, so that shouldn't be a problem.
i have an fully specced late 2013 27" iMac for working with the Creative Cloud Programms. At the moment i only have 8GB installed because of problems with my 32 GB Ram kit. I have an internal SSD for the OS and Programms, an 256GB USB3 SSD for Chache Files and a Raid 0 for my Source Files.
I am now rendering an 7min long movie shot on an Red Epic in 5K and 4K to an ProRes422HQ 1080p File out of After Effect. I mainly used the "Levels" Effect and an Plug-In called "Film Convert". No crazy animations or effects. My Render time is about 18 hours (it`s nearly finished, so this are no wrong calculations by AE).
Are this normal render times that should be expected when working with such large source files? What makes me wonder is that the Activity Monitor show only bout 40% CPU Usage (see attached screenshot), shouldn`t that be maxed out?I have to render out a few more similar clips.
I have been faced with an almost identical problem listed here URL....The only thing that changes it from complete blackness is the "Ambience" value. I've done all software and hardware updates, reinstalled the graphics card driver, and restarted a multitude of times. I am using:
Dell Optiplex 390 Intel(R) HD Graphics 2000 Windows 7 64 bit Photoshop CC No Color Management No plug-ins, or anything other than default PS settings
I used Lighting Effects on Photoshop CS3 and CS6 for almost two years on this machine with no problem. This was the first time I had tried to use it since I upgraded to CC. I uninstalled all other versions of PS when I upgraded, so I have not tried to replicate the problem in older versions.
I have downloaded different templates from web and edited them according my wish and now i want to create final movie by combining all the clips. Some clips/projects are with different resolution, i have rendered all projects separately and created individual .mov clips. Now i want to create final movie by combining all the clips. I am working with adobe after effects cs6.
Let's say I used the standard NTSC aspect ratio to create my comps. When I finshed the AE proects, my rendered movie would be 720 x 480.
Let's say I need to play the movie to a screen with bigger resoluaiton. Do I need to resize the apsect ratio of all my comps and adjust every elements? Or, does media encoder can fix this for me?
My concern is 720 x 480 can't really make up extra quality pixels to fill up a bigger screen.
I'm trying to create a star icon with lines through it. I used the star shape builder tool and then the line segment tool, but the lines are not being recognised as part of the star shape. For example, when I try to turn the star, the lines remain in the same place. This is pretty much exactly what I am trying to make, but I can't form the segments into one cohesive, editable shape.
"After Effects error: RAM Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback."And I have searched this entire forum about a solution but nothing worked.I have been in Preferences-> Memory & Multiprocessing and adjustet the settings.
I have tried PURGE all memory. Uninstalled After Effects CS6. Installed again with update 11.0.3.6 .....and still the problem occurs? I have fought with this error since I installed After Effects CS6. As you can see my computer have enough RAM and CPU power.
I'm trying to fade some text from 100% opacity to 0% over 45 frames, and end my layer when it gets to 0, (Thus making it dissapear?). My text stays there with 0% opacity (Slightly visable), untill the next layer begins.. I don't understand why I can see it when the layer it's on has ended. I preview it with audio using num 0.
This has happened to me multiple times and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Some of my text fades and dissapears normally, but I don't understand what's different about it. I'm probably doing lots wrong, but I'm pretty new and you have to start somewhere! This is also my first post, hope it's in the right forum.
This issue started out of nowhere for what I consider to be no reason. Working on average sized 720p compositions with modest animations.
I am running fresh comps in AE CC with absolutely no plugins, freshly purged memory, cleaned cache, restarted comp, no other applications running on computer and 13 gb of memory allocated to AE... etc.
How to get the Axis line on a steel Member (W18) to show when creating 2D Elevation or Section of It. I have been able to create center lines by placing a 3d grid and then changing from No Plot and it creates center lines on the elevation. But all jobs do not require a 3d grid so I would like the axis line form the member to show in the 2d elevation.
I just upgraded from AutoCad LT 2008 to 2013. I cannot offset a line that is drawn the x-axis. I also cannot copy an item with the ORTHO command on and run it along the x-axis. I'm only allowed to move it along the y-axis. I've now waisted at least three hours messing with every possible command that I can think of trying to fix it. What do I have set wrong?
For some reason the time ruler is displaying frames and not seconds. I have tried cycling through the various time modes by ctrl clicking it as well as modifyign it in file->project settings, yet seconds will not show up on the time ruler. Please view the image below. I have also tried resetting the work space to standard default with no result.
I'm working with a JPEG image sequence, and have deleted frames frames at various points before bringing them into AE. Instead of skipping the missing frames, AE renders missing media frames in place of the ones I deleted, instead of just skipping them. Is there a way around this without having to manually rename all of the images so there are no missing numbers?
when I want to add time to the time display, to re-position the timeline cursor, i use +15 for example. But when i want to subtract time, -15 wouldn't work. How does subtracting frames in the time display work ?
I am drawing in autocad in 2d and my lines keep coming up on the z axis which i only want them to come out in x and y is there anyway to shut that off so it will no longer draw on the z axis?
when I preview my video, the current timeline indicator skips to the next 10 frames and I would like to know if there is a way to decrease the amount of fames being skipped to.
I'm following some tutorials on digital tutors and I see that an easy way to preview the frames is just by simply moving the time indicator, and the frames will play in real time by just moving the current-time indicator back and forth.
However, it doesn't work for me for some reason, when I move my current time idncator, the only thing see is the frame what it was on, and won't update until I let go of time time indicator.
I'm working in ACAD 2012. I am at times, unable to draw simple vertical lines in the z-axis. Drawing pluming riser diagrams in 3D. Steps I am taking,
1) Opening the drawing. 2) X referencing a floor plan. 3) Changing the view using the cube to SW Isometric 4) Using the LINE command selecting a point, aligning the cursor with what seems like the Z-axis and entering the distance, heighten enter.
The line drawn is flat. This line can be seen as flat when rotating views. The only solution I have found is to use the "Reset Autocad Settings to Default"
Observations: Sometimes I am able to draw in 3D just fine, but something will happen in the middle of the drawing process that will now only allow me to draw flat. Also was never able to draw polylines in 3D is that how it's supposed to be? Used another computer with the same drawing, at first won't allow me to draw in 3D but after a couple attempts will eventually draw in 3D just fine. Tried starting from a blank template, no luck. Tried changing drawing space to 3D modeling and 3D basics, no luck. Also, when working drawings with existing 3D objects, I am able to snap to vertical point as a start point but cannot snap to a point on any other points on the object that at are at a different elevation.
I don't know how to phrase it correctly but the 3d camera tracker inside of After Effects will only apply key frames to the null object. This causes the footage to rotate around itself.
i try to make an animation. I create a cylinder and i want to rotate it by longitudinal axis. i click 'components', select the cylinder and after i click 'position' to select the axis that axis system appears in the right side of the cylinder not in the middle. If i continue whit this settings the cylinder will rotate by a circle not by his longitudinal axis. How can i move that axis sistem in the middle of the cylinder? I can drag it but can't place it exactly in the middle.
