I have a character I have been working on for a while. All of the sudden when I try to extrude an edge, target weld switches to vertex and does not weld. Target weld is greyed out under edit meshedges.
I did play with some UVW unwrapping, but have removed that.
I'm trying to connect two borders on the same object (picture 1), but bridging doesn't seam to work, as you can see in picture 2 it only makes some horizontal polygons.
If I choose 2 edges on the borders and try to bridge them, picture 3 is the result.
I am trying to weld two vertex's together but they just won't budge. Yes the vertex counter says "2 Vertices Selected" and yes i am presses the "Weld" button and yes i have tried to use "Target Weld" and that did not work ether. And the 2 Vertices belong to the same object so it is not possible to use the "Boolean" Feature of 3ds max because the objects would have to different to use the "Boolean" Feature but in my case they are within the same object. So what do i do now? I have exhausted all the ideas and thoughts that i could possibly try. The only thing that i can think of right now is that that 3ds max 7 won't weld because one of the Vertices belongs to a closed face. Or is there a script that overrides that feature?

I would like to make a simple Pause/Play toggle button that stops a nested symbol is it's playing and plays it if is stopped. In software's I'm familitar with, this can be done with a simple target path and if/else conditional statement, but I can't find any examples that don't seem much more complicated.

sym.$("Counter2").html(sym.getVariable("checker")); //error here?
But I noticed that only Counter is being changed and that Counter2 was not targeted. How do I target Counter2 without having to move it to the main timeline?
I am polymodeling and want to restrict a vertex to moving only along one of its corresponding edges. Seems like there was a drop down for this but I am totally missing it right now.

I need to define a mate constraint with a workplane as EntityOne and a midpoint from an Edge as EntityTwo.
API-Help tells me valid objects are planar faces, linear edges, vertices, cylindrical faces, conical faces, spherical faces, revolved faces, work planes, work axes, and work points.
The Edge object gives me StartVertex and StopVertex, but what about the midpoint?
I have drawn this part and can't find a way to... not even sure how to describe it.I need to replace the yellow edge by the green one.

Specifically I'm trying to change the color, I'd like the enirety of my weld callout to be a different color...just for visually tracking and locating on the drawings.
So if I change it to orange...right now the leader and text are orange but the weld symbol itself and the tail are still black.

so i have an edit mesh and i want to extrude an edge. imagine it's just a basic surface. i wish the edge would be extruded to be running exactly in the direction of the previous edge. hope that makes sense...
basically regardless of local/world/viewport mode and regardless of which viewport i am in the edge seems to be extruded in an arbitrary direction..
I have a plane that I transform into Edit Poly, only one polygon. I select an edge, click extrude, 1cm height and 0 width. But instead of having 2 polygons, I have 4, the extras two being on the outside edge of the newly extruded polygon. These polygons aren't really visible, but they cause lots and lots of problems! I have a lot of extruding to do and I would love to specify the dimension of the new polygons, that's why I used Extrude instead of simply Shift-dragging.
At the moment, after each extrude, I select all my vertexes and do a weld with a very small threshold, that seems to eliminate those extra polygons, but it's annoying and counter-productive.
I'm using 3ds max 2012 64 bits, service pack 2 and I updated last week.
When I extrude/bevel a perfect circle (Illustrator CS6 Mac), there is a defect visible on the edge of the circle. Please see 4 images attached. Is this normal, and is there a fix or workaround?

We have a couple of issues with Illustrator CC on a number of workstations?
1. It randomly switches between open windows; if I am working in one window it will switch to another open window even if that window is put in the dock.
2. Constantly crashes.
I find it very inconvienent to have lightroom shutdown and restart every time I switch catalogs. I'm sure programing to eliminate that has got to be simpler than all the wonderful stuff we can do to our images.
View 16 Replies View RelatedWhen I use the brush, eraser, or any other similar tool in Photoshop CS5, and use the [ or ] key to change the brush size, Photoshop will more often than not switch back to the previous tool I was using. The same thing will sometimes happen when I use 0-9 to change the opacity. It's a bit annoying and totally arbitrary when it happens, is there any way to turn this function off?
Similarly, pressing "e" to use the eraser tool will sometimes pull down the edit menu. I thought maybe there might be a correlation between pressing and holding the key, but it seems to be completely random. It will usually happen at least 20-30 times off and on while I'm working. My housemate never seems to encounter these problems in her version of Photoshop; I'm not sure if it's CS5 or CS6 she's using.
When I attempt to use the move tool to move a layer, as I grab the object in that layer, the move tool suddenly switches to the highest most layer, not the layer I selected. I can't seem to change this and this only started happening recently.
