I am having an issue with the Trajectories I am trying to move the keys within the viewport but the moment I enter Trajectory mode the pivot point goes to the center of the grid and not allowing me to select the keys within the curved trajectories.
My Process consist of Selecting the animated object > Selecting Trajectories within the motion panel > Selecting Sub-Object

We have a drawing with multiple layouts and active viewports in them. For some reason we are unable to select some of the viewports so that we can resize them. we can see them we just can not select them. I do not see any settings that would affect this.
I checked to make sure the layers are all on and thawed - i am not able to see if the viewport is locked since I can not select it .
Something that's been driving me around the bend lately. I have a drawing, with a viewport which I cannot select. I have unfrozen all layers, ticked the 'Selection Cycling' box, but no lines show. It's just there, a viewport, but with no viewport polyline. No way of deleting, or clipping, or doing anything with it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhenever I attempt to marquee select (click-hold and drag a box) in Viewport 2.0, the viewport becomes a blank white screen and instead of drawing a box my mouse draws a single thick line. When I release the mouse, the viewport will not return to normal until I move the camera. It actually does perform the selection that I would expect. However, not being able to see what I'm doing is a bit of a pain sometimes.
The irony is that it actually works fine in default and high quality modes, but I'm not able to use those because the transparency sorting is really wonky and doesn't let me see what I'm trying to work on from the angles that I need. Only Viewport 2.0 solves that problem.
If I have a viewport within another viewport and want to select the inner one - I can't. It keeps selecting the outer viewport instead.
I can move the smaller viewport out, set it up, then drop it back in, but is there an easier way?
I've got two trajectories from the bottom of two tires and I want to create a road surface, an object whose shape will match the trajectories, thereby creating a perfect shadow catcher.
The trajectories are virtually identical in shape and number of points because the two point helpers that created them were wired together. I've converted them into splines and messed with the loft tool, with not so good results. I ended up brute forcing the shape of the object into some kind of shape but I think there has to be a good, dependable way to do this in a program like max.
Have a bit of an odd problem showing up with 3ds Max 2012 64 Bit. The viewport does not update when I select or move an object. The program registers that I did make some changes, and things like object parameters and bounding boxes will change, but the meshes will remain the way they are until I delete them and undo.
Forcing the program to redraw all views does not change anything, nor does turning on/off progressive display.
For Max design 2012 x64 (running on Win7 Ultimate with Geforce 9800GT) I get an invisible marquee selection box when trying to select anything in any viewport.
I’ve update Max with Sp2 and Hot fix 2 but they have no effect.
I’ve updated graphics card drivers to the latest available.
I have the View cube switched off.
Is there anything else I can try?
First I click in my viewport and select a few objects (lines/blocks etc) then whenever I type Pan or hold down my center mouse button to Pan. The Command line says the Viewport is viewlocked switching to paper space.
Now by switching to paper space everything I selected has now unselected. This basically leaves me the option to select what I see on the screen at one time and can't pan along and select anything else which is unbelievably frustrating on large drawings.
I have three drawings in modelspace and three viewports in one layout (paperspace), I would like to select each modelspace drawing and assign it to each layout viewport.I'm using Visual Studio 2012, .NET Framework 3.5 and Csharp.

I can doule-click into model space and select objects, though I can't really see them. If I delete the viewport and make a new one, the new one works fine (at least for now).
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe have an intern that has somehow made it impossible for her to edit inside viewports(switching to model space) on her layouts. None of us has seen this before and do not know how to reverse what she has done. This happens with any drawing she opens. She can edit when in the model space tab, but when she goes to one of the layout tabs and double clicks on the viewport she cannot edit. The viewports are not locked.
We have had several people look at it and cannot find what command or setting she changed. She does not have admin rights so I do not think she could have run a script. She is not familiar with AutoCAD Architecture, her experience has been limited to Revit.
I am having issues with creating viewports in the attached file. When I open the layout, say layout 3, it shows the viewport frame but I cannot highlight it in order to delete it. This is a setting in this file I have inadvertently turned on or off. I have created a new file, done a scribble, opened a layout and deleted the viewport.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis happens to me on a semi-regular basis. I go to select a piece of geometry and I am unable to select anything. The only way I can "fix" it for a few moments is to CTRL-A (select all) then select the piece I want. On a bad day, this will happen about 30% of the time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI think I triggered some sort of feature because I am now unable to select specific vertices that I wish to select (although I do appear to be able to select polygons at will when using Polygon).
I am attaching the .max file. I do not have the space bar lock active so I know for sure that's not the cause.
I want to clarify that I am able to select some of the vertices in the model but for some reason some vertices are not selectable (notably a cluster in the vicinity of the cheek pouch area [the part of the face that is bulging outwards])
I just started using 2012. Two problems:
1- Somehow, in my current drawing, everything is layer-locked. There are no Xrefs in this very basic drawing. All layers are unlocked. Yet, any attempt to select any entities results in "x objects were on a locked layer". Again, all layers are unlocked. No Xrefs. No blocks. Just simple lines. All entities appear faded. This happened after viewing a layout in both paper and model spaces. Reviewing the text window shows no strange accidental commands.
2- There is a default set of viewport scales in the status bar at the bottom right. Default scales are all metric. I would like both metric and imperial. I see you can edit which exact scales are in a metric list, and which are in an imperial list. But how do you set what is displayed/available in the status bar button?
I opened my max file today to continue workin but it seems that I am unable to edit or select the vetices in my poly as shown in the picture.

for eg if i select a line and try to select a second one ,the first automatically is deselected.
i'm only able to select multiple entities using the" cross windowing" or 'fulyl windowing' an entity.
this is only a recent occurence and i suspect i may have inadvertently pressed some key.
I am having a similar problema than Kari's except that in my drawing there are no Filters defined (it only says "All used layers" and that's it). I am using AutoCAD 2010.
The problem is that I can't select the viewport with the mouse cursor. I have to say though, that I can select them with QSelect.
Also different is the fact that I can see the border of the viewport, which is in the Defpoints layer, which is not frozen or turned off. In fact, none of the layers are frozen or turned off. It's only that I can't select it with the cursor. I can selct everything else in paper and model spaces
Illustrator CS4, latest updates.MORE than often, slices on my design can't be selected.I tried everything, from sending all others to the background or deleting them, resaving them, cute-paste, moving them to another layer, hide-show, lock-unlock…
You can see them on wireframe view, but they won't preview, nor are selectable other than drawing a square over them with the slice select tool, but after you have them selected, you can't move them with the pointer, since they get de-selected.
While the are selected with the above technique, just nudge them and move them back to its place. e.g. click the "up" arrow once and them "down" once while the slices are selected and the slice-select tool is active.
CS6 Windows. I am unable to select the layer to transform it when I have a path created. The only way I can select the layer is to delete the path.

I purchased the Adobe creative suite (CS5). However, upon attempting to install it, I discovered I was unable to install it in the desired folder as no options are given to change the default location that is given.

Clicking on the bar yielded no selection window, and attempting to type the folder name did not change the default location. I am bewildered as I was able to change the folder during an earlier install (half an hour ago). Checking and unchecking the photoshop, flash and other component ticks make no difference as I am not able to select the desired folder regardless.
I have also attempted exiting and re-booting install. It does not make a difference.
Does the trial/evaluation version of VideoStudio Pro X3 - DVD factory Pro 2010 support creating Blu ray disks. Or is this only possible with the full/bought version?
I downloaded the trial version of VideoStudio Pro X3 which includes DVD factory Pro 2010 version 1.6.0.367 (dutch language version). With DVD factory starting a new videodisk I cannot select blu ray disk in the project settings. I can only select as disk: DVD and as project setting: Dvd-video or AVCHD.
I searched but could not find any resolution. I do like the editing software so very happy so far but before I buy the software, I want to make sure I can create blu ray disks (do a test).
Note: I do have two drives, first drive is Blu-ray burner (LG HL-DT-ST BD-RE BH08LS20) and second drive is normal DVD burner (TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-S223C)
I've been having trouble selecting more than one object with the pointer. the program was just reloaded on the computer, but this problem has happened multiple times now. everything will work fine for a while, then suddenly, when trying to select objects during a command, i can only select one. (ex. trying to copy multiple lines, i can only select one to copy at a time).

I can't select objects using the hypergraph. My scene is opened, my hypergraph is open, the object nodes are listed, I select the node in the HG, but it's not selected within the scene... what gives?
I set all my prefs to default, and opened a new scene: made a NURBS ball, opened the HG, clicked on the ball's node, it highlighted in the HG, but not the geometry in the scene.
ps. I'm using Maya 2011 on a Mac, OS X (10.6.6).
When I select an object to move I am unable to snap to the grips of the object or any other object close or any intersections. I have double and triple checked my osnap settings. Also, If I select a circle to move I am unable to select the center of the circle through additional osnap settings. One last issue, If I select an object and do a copy with base point command, I am unable to select a definitive base point. No grips or intersections show up.
My co-workers are able to do these functions but I am not.
