Just wondering if it is possible to merge .mat libraries together?
I'm in the process of merging all the IDST libraries together into categories. When I get it all done I'll upload them in one location for all to download.

I'm in the deployment testing phase of rolling out Civil 3D 2013. We're currently using Civil 3D 2011. We've done a moderate amount of customizing to 2011 to make it work for us - mainly in styles, but we did add a special pipe library because we still run into jobs that use clay pipe and other "non-standard"/"non-modern" items.
The problem is that we don't want to have redo the work to use our custom pipe libraries. At the same time, we want to use anything that Civil 3D 2013 starts us with in the "Imperial" configuration because we've not completed our customizations and there are new things that our default starting drawing doesn't know about (pressure pipes and railways come to mind).
So I'm wondering what the best method of merging the two libraries is. Can I simply look for files that are only in our 2011 pipe library folders and copy those forward?
It may stop us from creating pipes and parts in the future, because I for one do not relish the idea of recrating things everytime an upgrade happens.
I use a few material libraries I have saved quite often. I spent some time yesterday tidying up as well as creating new ones and saved them out.
However now they are not loading up any of the materials when I click on the tab in the Material Browser. The same libraries are working fine on the machine next to me (my colleagues machine).
I've tried saving them out on his as another name and opening a new material library, however they are still not showing up.
I can delete every unused material except one in the Material Editor.I am trying to make the custom Material library and somehowI have got the Material I cannot delete. URL....

View 1 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to 3DsMax 2011 and still have some problems navigating the Slate Material Editor. I want to create a Mix material as the "first" material but I'm only able to double click on the Sample Slot to get a standard material in the "View1" as my "first" material. I am able to create a "Mix" node here, but it has to be connected to the "Standard" material and this makes it so that i can not drag the material in to the "Environment and Effects" tab as my "Environment Map".
When i go back to the "Compact Material Editor" (which waists time), I can select the Standard icon but "Maps" is not available in the "Material/Map Browser" when i right click on an open space.
Im on Max 2011 with sp1 and the latest hotfix installed, working with vray 1.5 sp5. When i try to re-set mu material editor (compact not slate) i get the folllowing error message
"Runtime error: cannot assign undefined to material editor slots" and a Macro_media utilities window opens with the following script

I'm not a scripter but it seems that there is no material defined to place into the slots on re-set. I've recently had a problem with my material editor not giving me acess to slate as i had loaded up my 2010 menus into 2011 but i've since re-installed max and vray and am still getting this.
I installed revit 2014, but the libraries cant load when search in the load family. In what directory was installed that libraries...?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have downloaded some of Ian symbols which is a zip file and Safety Nut 10° thru 55°. How do I place these files in Illustrators Swatch Libraries. The Safty Nut file has installed itself somewhere?? If I double click on the folder Illustrator starts up an the nuts are there in a window but when I close Illustator and restart Illustratior and look for it in the swatch folders it dose not show up?

View 6 Replies View RelatedLet's start with the business of getting titles across. Open the older version (VideoStudio 11, say) and create a project - on the time line of which you put all those titles you've spent hours putting together. Save the project as "DeleteNOW" in your main MyDoc's folder (where it's easy to find), and close VS11.
Open X4, and open the project you just saved. Create a new title folder, then highlight all the titles in the timeline and drag them to the title area above. Bingo.
It works with sounds too, so I assume it'll work with all other libraires, but have as yet to confirm.
Any 2D-3D block libraries that are available? I have created a lot of 3D shapes that I use but am looking for more. Preferably 3D blocks that revert to 3D objects when exploded.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used to have a huge library already imported into lightroom while all the files stored on Drobo (external HD). At some point my main computer died (HD failure). After a full reinstall of the whole system from scratch, including LR I tried to reimport the same libraries again into new the new installation. Is there a way to reuse the old import or somehow recreate it? Or I have to do it all from scratch?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project where I am colorizing roughly 20 images using gradient maps with two different swatches from a color scheme of eight swatches. I'd like to create a color swatch library that I can access and also change out swatches easily so that if the client doesn't like a particular color, I could change that swatch and it would automatically change in all the files using that color library. (The gradient maps would be created by using an adjustment layer, not done to the actual image, if that makes a difference.) Is this possible? Normally I colorize grayscale .psd files directly in InDesign, but the image contrast and clarity is much better when adjusting the color in Photoshop.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI installed the download/trial version of X4. I decided to purchase but went through an education/academic seller since I work at a university and get better prices.
I thought I could just input the serial # of the disk I bought but obviously there is a difference in the 2-versions since it won't accept the "educational version" serial #.
So, I figure I need to uninstall the download/trial version and install the what I got on DVD.
I am concerned about loosing the info in the libraries. I made a spare copy of the projects, just in case the uninstall does something with them.
After installing SP1 2014 Autocad started to crash by loading DLL that contains Civil 3D libraries. In the same time Civil3D works perfectly. Is there a way to load some DLLs when starts Civill3d but not Autocad?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was creating an .acb (adobe color book) file to access my company's colors from the color picker's color libraries section and everything was going well. It was all working, I've been using it for some time, and then I decided to change the name of my library in the coding.
After that the color libraries stopped working. Not only my color library, but the color library function in Photoshop. Now when I try to access the color libraries section from the color picker, it simply closes the color picker. It doesn't give me any error message. Photoshop doesn't crash or anything, it's only that I can't access the color libraries section.
I tried removing my .acb file from the Adobe Photoshop CS2PresetsColor Books folder, but it didn't solve the problem. The color libraries still won't open.
Anyone knows a solution to this problem. It's kind of urgent since I need that color library file working for a tool I'm developping for my company.
Would there be someplace in Photoshop that I could reset Photoshop's color libraries to start from scratch and go back to my old version of the .acb file that was working perfectly, before I changed it's name?
Right now I'm using Photoshop CS2, I should be switching to Photoshop CS3 soon,
so we have two smokes running on our network. We can wire between them no problem but have been trying to setup a shared library. We have setup a shared library on both machines but neither shows up in the other machines media list like I imagined it would. Is there a strategic hot key that we are missing?

Presently, our network drive setup is like this:
Working Files & Customer Prints: Z:Customer Prints<Customer Name><Customer Contact><Description or PN>
In some customers' folder, I may also have a folder with a path like this "Z:Customer Prints<Customer Name>General Design" where I would keep things like mating parts, existing fixtures that new parts may need to mate with, etc.
Then I've also got a place for vendor CAD like this: "Z:Vendor DocumentsVendor CAD<Company Name><Part Types>" etc. for commonly used components, like tooling hardware.
In any project, I'd need to be able to access files from these directories. So when I create a new project, I can obviously reference the workspace folder for the new part files and I can add the paths for the other two examples. But if I need to quickly edit a file in one of the paths (like to show a work plane or something), I can't do it because library files are not editable. Plus it seems like it's a bit repetitious to add these paths manually every time I create a project. Is there a better way to do this with my current file structure?

View 2 Replies View RelatedOnce in awhile I try to use a symbol from one of the Symbol Libraries built into AI (CC in this case). I just wonder why they are dumbed down instead of retaining current features such as path profiles. This image, for example, would be a good starting point for an image if it were left with profiles intact.
I suppose these were created back with the feature did not exist. Then why not update them? I'm paying enough for the privilage of using AICC.
I'd like my company color palette to be present when I create a new document.
I've tried saving the a color group as .ase but when I try and open my user defined swatch library, it's not clickable. That's a workaround for what I want anyway. It seems like there used to be an option called "persistent" in older versions but how do I get my colors to automatically appear when I'm using CC?
I have used the 30 day LR5 trial and I don't love it and prefer LR3 that I have been using for the past few years. I've created some libraries though, and want to know how I can view them if I return to using LR3 after the trial.
I didn't import the images to Lightroom, rather, I referenced them on my HD.
Do I need to export them as an older version? Or save the images in another format?
Is it possible to share your Lightroom library with a friend and retain keywords on each of your photos? For example, can I sync my Lightroom library with a friend's Lightroom so that he has all of my photos and the keywords that I have assigned to each photo?

This works but only pulls through and lists the "Inventor Material Library" materials by default.
What is strange though is that when I apply a material from another library to a part then its almost like that library is now active and if the routine is run again it only pulls through materials from that library and not the "Inventor Material Library" again.
I know in 2014 its better supported but is there a way to get all materials in 2013?
