Photoshop :: Color Libraries Not Working Anymore
Jun 30, 2008I was creating an .acb (adobe color book) file to access my company's colors from the color picker's color libraries section and everything was going well. It was all working, I've been using it for some time, and then I decided to change the name of my library in the coding.
After that the color libraries stopped working. Not only my color library, but the color library function in Photoshop. Now when I try to access the color libraries section from the color picker, it simply closes the color picker. It doesn't give me any error message. Photoshop doesn't crash or anything, it's only that I can't access the color libraries section.
I tried removing my .acb file from the Adobe Photoshop CS2PresetsColor Books folder, but it didn't solve the problem. The color libraries still won't open.
Anyone knows a solution to this problem. It's kind of urgent since I need that color library file working for a tool I'm developping for my company.
Would there be someplace in Photoshop that I could reset Photoshop's color libraries to start from scratch and go back to my old version of the .acb file that was working perfectly, before I changed it's name?
Right now I'm using Photoshop CS2, I should be switching to Photoshop CS3 soon,

Jul 9, 2013Is there a way to save an lllustrator color group as an ASE swatch library? When I try to do this, the entire library, including all the default swatches, are saved, when all I want are the particular swatches I've added to a new colour group. I want to be able to save swatch libraries for various clients, then be able to access them in InDesign and Photoshop as well. Or alternatively, is there a way to remove unwanted swatches from a swatch library once it's been saved? (Using CS6 on a Mac running 10.8.4)

Jun 2, 2012I read the Photoshop Windows (read only) thread, titled "Scanning old photos", at [URL]......... I found Robert Shomler's answer useful, even though I am using an i Mac.
I have been using Epson Scan Version 3.01A and the Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner to scan reflective photos for over three years. I started using Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard, and Photoshop for the first time, last month. My iMac is about one year old, and System Preferences shows its Display profile as i Mac.
I am befuddled by Epson Scan Version 3.01A's Color Configuration settings. I believe that I've been using the default Color Control, Continuous auto exposure setting for all these years, accept that I apparently changed Display Gamma from the default of 1.8 to 2.2.
I tested scanning the same originals with both the Color Control setting, and the ColorSync, Epson Standard, Target sRGB setting, as TIFF's. The resulting TIFF's look radically different in color, when displayed with Preview and Photoshop. The images resulting from the ColorSync, Epson Standard, Target sRGB setting more closely resemble the originals, except they appear to be a little flat.
At the moment, I have the Photoshop color working space at sRGB IEC 61966 2.1. When I open one of the scans done at the Color Control setting, select Assign profile sRGB IEC 61966 2.1, and check "…convert document to working RGB", I don't see any change in the color. The color does not change to look like the scans done directly to sRGB IEC 61966 2.1. Is that right?
I notice there is also an option to Assign profile Epson Perfection4490 - reflective. When I try this, the color changes to something different from both of the aforementioned test results.

Nov 23, 2011I am a Pro Photographer, and have been printing via Photoshop for years, and am trying to print to my Epson 9900 through LR3.
Workflow is simple, Nikon .nef (Raw) files are imported into LR3 - all monitors are calibrated w/ pro-grade color management colorimeters/software ....
Everything looks great on screen, and the TIF files exported and picked up in Photoshop and then printed, look great.
However, my files printed directly from LR look horrible - as if color profiles are being applied twice somewhere, but I can't figure out where.
Images are shot in AdobeRGB color space.
Color management in the Epson 9900 print driver is turned OFF. (same as every other program I print from)

Lightroom :: Color Cast When Printing With Epson 3880 Printer?
Mar 7, 2014Just got an epson 3880 printer. Printing on epson paper is fine. But printing on Ilford or Moab or other papers from lightroom and photoshop have a terrible magenta color cast. WHen I print the same image from Preview, with the same print driver settings, it looks fine. So somehow the adobe apps (or my settings) are messing up the color sync. I used to have an espon 2400 which worked just fine.
I have Mac OSX-10.9.1. Monitor is calibrated. (Prints to epson paper with their profiles look great...it's just other profiles that are really bad).
Photoshop :: Creating Editable Swatch Libraries In CS5?
Nov 8, 2012I'm working on a project where I am colorizing roughly 20 images using gradient maps with two different swatches from a color scheme of eight swatches. I'd like to create a color swatch library that I can access and also change out swatches easily so that if the client doesn't like a particular color, I could change that swatch and it would automatically change in all the files using that color library. (The gradient maps would be created by using an adjustment layer, not done to the actual image, if that makes a difference.) Is this possible? Normally I colorize grayscale .psd files directly in InDesign, but the image contrast and clarity is much better when adjusting the color in Photoshop.

Illustrator :: Swatch Libraries For CS5.5?
Nov 10, 2013I have downloaded some of Ian symbols which is a zip file and Safety Nut 10° thru 55°. How do I place these files in Illustrators Swatch Libraries. The Safty Nut file has installed itself somewhere?? If I double click on the folder Illustrator starts up an the nuts are there in a window but when I close Illustator and restart Illustratior and look for it in the swatch folders it dose not show up?

Feb 26, 2011Let's start with the business of getting titles across. Open the older version (VideoStudio 11, say) and create a project - on the time line of which you put all those titles you've spent hours putting together. Save the project as "DeleteNOW" in your main MyDoc's folder (where it's easy to find), and close VS11.
Open X4, and open the project you just saved. Create a new title folder, then highlight all the titles in the timeline and drag them to the title area above. Bingo.
It works with sounds too, so I assume it'll work with all other libraires, but have as yet to confirm.

Aug 15, 2012I used to have a huge library already imported into lightroom while all the files stored on Drobo (external HD). At some point my main computer died (HD failure). After a full reinstall of the whole system from scratch, including LR I tried to reimport the same libraries again into new the new installation. Apr 12, 2011I installed the download/trial version of X4. I decided to purchase but went through an education/academic seller since I work at a university and get better prices.
I thought I could just input the serial # of the disk I bought but obviously there is a difference in the 2-versions since it won't accept the "educational version" serial #.
So, I figure I need to uninstall the download/trial version and install the what I got on DVD.
I am concerned about loosing the info in the libraries. I made a spare copy of the projects, just in case the uninstall does something with them.

Aug 31, 2012I use a few material libraries I have saved quite often. I spent some time yesterday tidying up as well as creating new ones and saved them out.
However now they are not loading up any of the materials when I click on the tab in the Material Browser. The same libraries are working fine on the machine next to me (my colleagues machine).
I've tried saving them out on his as another name and opening a new material library, however they are still not showing up.

Jul 24, 2012We've just made the switch from Acad to IV and I'd like to get some feedback about how to structure my non-vault single user projects.
Presently, our network drive setup is like this:
Working Files & Customer Prints: Z:Customer Prints<Customer Name><Customer Contact><Description or PN>
In some customers' folder, I may also have a folder with a path like this "Z:Customer Prints<Customer Name>General Design" where I would keep things like mating parts, existing fixtures that new parts may need to mate with, etc.
Then I've also got a place for vendor CAD like this: "Z:Vendor DocumentsVendor CAD<Company Name><Part Types>" etc. for commonly used components, like tooling hardware.
In any project, I'd need to be able to access files from these directories. So when I create a new project, I can obviously reference the workspace folder for the new part files and I can add the paths for the other two examples. But if I need to quickly edit a file in one of the paths (like to show a work plane or something), I can't do it because library files are not editable. Plus it seems like it's a bit repetitious to add these paths manually every time I create a project. Is there a better way to do this with my current file structure?
