AutoCAD 2013 :: North Arrow Libraries
Apr 2, 2013I am looking for a North Arrows block files that I can choose from. I have been searching in my library (local drive) but I did not get any. Is there any place that I can find them?

View 1 RepliesI am using the Dynamic North arrow that is linked to the viewport. It doesn't matter if I use an OOTB block or a custom one they all have a rotation of 355.4016.
The viewport is type "Plan", Dview twist is set to "0", USC is World. If I change the rotation on the block it rotates the viewport (as expected). The default block is not rotated.
BTW, It works fin in the default NCS, so it's something in my template.
In some templates I can't load a custom North arrow. AutoCAD can't find block.
The built-in north Arrows works fine. In a standard template from Autodesk there is no problem.
Wich settings should I change so I can select a block?
I would like to show a north arrow on my drawing, but i dont know where north is,
Does autocad know where it is, my site is in a very remote mountaineous area with nothing to reference off on goole earth or maps.
After I select the north arrow in my cad drawing what format should I save it as?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have found 3 installed dynamic scale bars that cad offers that can be inserted onto a map, but i don't like the graphics of the 3 choices.
is there other choices for dynamic scale bars offered somewhere, or do people just build there own?
Every time I insert a north arrow it needs to be scaled up afterwards. Normally, scaling up by the same factor as the viewport that I select is about right.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Plan Production tools to create alignment drawings and when adding the north arrow during the process i get a error at the end stating @unable to align north arrow?
North arrow is a block and tried with base point and alignment parameters, unless i have missed something in the block creation? How do i create a north arrow block that will align with the layouts in plan production?
I'm using C3D 2014.
When I create layouts using the "All layouts in the current drawing" option, the north arrow does not align to the viewport rotation.
But when I use "Number of layouts..." and "All layouts in one..." options, the north arrow block aligns correctly.
I want my north arrow to come in at 90 (pointing up). Then I want 3 grips that you click to either rotate it to 0,180,or 270.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am making a template file having title block with fields. I use this template for creating layouts and sheets using Sheet Set Manager and the fields will be updated from the data of SSM. Now i would like to add a dynamic north block to my template. The block could be rotated (i have this block in file itself) and rotation angle could be inserted. Now how can i add a custom field to SSM so that i could set a rotation angle for the project and thus every new layout or sheet created using the template has the north block rotated with the angle mentioned in SSM.
Here is the file...........
why doesn't the arrow leader disappear when I flip my arrow direction to the inside..

I have a text file of several surveyed ponts throughout my model. I can select one of these points in my model and specify the coordinates of East/West, North/South, and elevation from this file, but how do I determine the angle from project north to true north from these surveyed points?
View 1 Replies View Relatedis it posible to list all the materials from all libraries and catagories from Inventor 2013?
I am using this at the moment: Dim oMat As Inventor.Material For Each oMat In oApp.StylesManager.Materials comboMaterial.Items.Add(oMat.Name.ToString) Next
This works but only pulls through and lists the "Inventor Material Library" materials by default.
What is strange though is that when I apply a material from another library to a part then its almost like that library is now active and if the routine is run again it only pulls through materials from that library and not the "Inventor Material Library" again.
I know in 2014 its better supported but is there a way to get all materials in 2013?
we have Inventor prof 2012 lisc copy ,now we recd 2013 upgrade copy , as per discusswith local service provider of Autodesk need to uninstall whole 2012 and reload fresh 2013. i copied contenet center folder on other location and reload fresh Inventor 2013.when i installed it it is obserbed that content center libraries don't have standards which contents in Inventor 2012. To open our old projects we need this standards, the procedure to import this content center libraries from 2012 to 2013.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway that I can pan up, down, left, right using arrow keys? or zoom in, zoom out using pgup pgdn? I only know ctrl+arrow keys... I think it is more convenient if I use only arrow keys.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am as-building some model space drawings. Client wants model space. I am trying to determine how to size the text and dimensions.
Ex: drawing 1/2" =1'-0", I scaled the drawing bdr up 24 times. What is the right sizing for text, dims. Arrows to get 1/8" text, etc? So far the arrow heads look to tiny.c
I think we keep on without an annotation symbol to label the x,y and/or Z of a point ? Have I to develop our symbol ? I'm going to create my own symbol. Using attributes & dynamic behaviours I can do it.
how to get my arrow rotates (I move the box and I have - the arrow aligned with line1 and line 2 horizontal).I don't want to use parametrics, because I want to have a symbol compatible with versions prior to 2010.
I am making use of some of the building models created using CAD. Since the models are added to virtual earth, I would like to get clarified for few of my doubts,
1) say, when the buildings of true representation on ground is made, whether any reference axis with respect to ground is considered to build the model?
2) How the scaling is made for the same model with respect to ground?
my default 0 degrees is set at east. setting 0 degrees as north, south etc
View 6 Replies View RelatedWant to know if there is a better way to have multiple north points in a drawing with out having them on their own layer
I produce drawing along the length of a road so use viewports to cover the length so when the viewports overlap I have a cut line and this often means at the end of one viewport you see the next viewports north point.
Currently I have the north point block drawn on its own layer then I end up creating 2 or 3 move layers to put the blocks on so I can freeze the new layers in different viewports hiding then from the previous if that makes sense.
How to get my invert labels to reference construction north rather than actual (surveyed) north?
C3D 2012, SP1
Win7-64 bit
The building plan has been drawn according to North, etc. When I try and draw a rectangle, for example, the rectangle is angled according to North and not vertical and horizontal in the MS.
How do I turn this off. I tried changing VPORT to 0,0 and it rotated the whole drawing with North at the top.
I'm having trouble creating a map book where north is rotated in the view. I've tried using ucsfollow, and the ucs command to rotate the map correctly, but when I try to create the map book the map doesn't show up in the main viewport.
How to rotate the map when creating a map book?
If I want North (top) to be my Zero Degrees point (rather than east - to the right) then I go into FORMAT / UNITS which takes me to DRAWING UNITS..I then have a button called DIRECTION...Here is says:
East 0
North 90
West 180
South 270
Other pick/type
Now logic tells me that currently East (to the right) is currently set to 0 degrees (which it is)And that clicking North, should then make North (up) Zero degrees.
I click North, the button shows North has been selected, but none of the values change, and East is still zero degrees. From what I found on these forums, doing this should set North to zero, but it makes no difference.
I made a model of a small house and I've been trying to figure out how to render it in the best way possible,
I got some good results messing around with the sun location settings.
I've set the location using an google earth file and the house is facing direct east.
when I make a render from the south side with date something like 04-04-2012 at 12:00.
its pretty cool(still a bit dark ish), but if I render from the north the walls are just black.
I've but a simple light bulb in side to see if that would reflect some how but thats no good.
p.s. render time was for each image was about 5m.
In the previous versions of civil 3d 2012 or earlier, I never had a problem with the view cube not staying pointed to the north. Since I never touched it in the past, how do I get it to stay pointed to the north?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn my border, I have a compass with a rotation parameter to rotate the angle for north. How to set this angle from a field in the sheet set manager?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an autocad drawing that has a building floor plan.
I need to "rotate the building 90 degrees" or "rotate the USC 90 degrees" in order to line the building up to TRUE project north (architect has a Revit model oriented to true north that I need to match when we combine our files in Navisworks)
I have tried DVIEW > Twist.. which I thought was it, it rotated my drawing, but the USC rotated with it. I tried the USCFOLLOW with no luck.
Also tried going into UNITS > DIRECTION and tried VP with no luck.
I understand that I can just select the entire floor plan and manually rotate it BUT, the building is not easy "shape" to work with, so it is next to impossible finding the "center" of my drawing to rotate it (I need this to be brough into Navisworks WITHOUT rotating the file again)
You would think this would be very simple to do and take 30 seconds. I have googled everything with no luck. I just need to change my True north
- doing this in modelspace
- needs to be align with a Revit model already oreinted to true north
- just need to rotate the drawing OR UCS 90 degrees, but can't find the "center" of the drawing
I am trying to insert a norht block oriented on two selected points with the following
(defun c:North ( / ss )
;Orientate North Symbol
(setq oldos (getvar "osmode"))
(setq blk (vlax-ename->vla-object (car (entsel "
[Code] .......
I am not sure how to (a) erase the selected north block, then (b) make the insert north block in its place bit work.
Any 2D-3D block libraries that are available? I have created a lot of 3D shapes that I use but am looking for more. Preferably 3D blocks that revert to 3D objects when exploded.
