View 1 RepliesI have a 45min show with hundreds of edits in it. A mix of ProRez LT, Intra P2 (brought in ProRez proxy) and H264 5D footage. My intention was to relink all my Intra footage with the RAW and simply import the rest for online but have run into several issues. I'll make a different post outlining my steps and questions on how I've gotten here but my emidiate issue is after consolidating and cacheing all sources material of my master sequesnce, I have pending renders, how to get rid of. Also, all my source material in the sequesnce appears to be still be pointing to the original location and not the cached media.

I have like 12 symbols on the stage. They al have images in them in JPG format, saved at a quite low percentage in quality. The symbols are being animated seperately but it looks very sluggish.
I am recreating a whole Flash site in Edge. Everything works (amazing) fine except I am missing the function like it exists in Flash:“Display/ Render/ cache as bitmap”. (see image) This function used to BIGTIME in Flash too.Now how can I do something similar in Edge?I do not want to animate all symbols as 1, it is essential they are animated separately. Is this possible in Adobe Edge Animate? Is there something similar in Javascript/ Jquery?
how to get line weights defined through Inventor? After printing or output to PDF I can barely read the dimensions. Is this with the drawing setup? or with the printers?

I pretty much work in a standard comp for all my projects:
16bpc
HDTV (Rec.709) 16-235
Linearize working space
I have some projects that i previously rendered, and what you see in the after effects project window, is basically what you get on render - untill now that is. When I render the project, i usually use:
Render settings - Best settings
Output module Quicktime with H264 codec
I now want to render out the best possible lossless versions for more work - I am doing this so I can interpret interlaced footage into progressinve footage for my workflow. This is something found, to import the footage at 50FPS into a double frame rate comp. I then get discreet individual frames from the camera I am using. - But I say this just to explain why I want the best output for this part of the project. ( I have reset the preferences via CMD+Option+Shift on startup of AE) -
Sometime with some scenes, I have this trouble :
-when I render my beauty pass in TIF 16bits with render elements and when I leave MAX set my render-elements output files automatically, MAX use the initial name of the output beauty pass. So technically, It is suppose to make a couple of file with the same format and the same name.
-ok, I presse render to Backburner and I wait.
-Now my render is done, I go check my output files. And, sometimes, without constancy, my beauty pass is a TIF 16bits but my passes are in gray-scale or in 8bits or 16bits in random.
If I restart the job on Backburner, maybe it fix this problem, maybe not.
The unique thing I find to fix that is to set all my passes manually. but it's a pretty heavy process.
I have problem with anti aliasing when output z depth render elements. What main parameter control do I have to tweak to improve the edges?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith After Effects CS5.5, we've been able to include custom output module templates (so, aside from the default Lossless, TIFF Sequence with Alpha, etc.). We're having trouble doing the same with CS6. Is there any way to make this work?
View 6 Replies View Relatedwhen using the filter Render > Lighting Effects, is it possible to duplicate a lightsource? My goal would be to have a light source of the exact same dimensions just offset on the canvas?
View 2 Replies View RelatedPHOTOSHOP CS5.1 IN iMAC OS10.6 . I cannot use the filter Render - Light effects because it does not appear in the Render tag. On the other hand clicking the mouse right I can go to GET INFORMATION, but in the GENERAL SECTION , the option start with 32 bit DOES NOT APPEAR.
I owned this 5.1 version since some 18 months ago, and I am quite sure I succeeded in using the light effects in the past: What is happened and what can I do to fix the problem.
We've started using State Sets to manage the output of render elements from our scenes and all was looking great UNTIL we noticed a rather nasty bug.
I hope I can describe this clearly. Here goes:
I have created 3 State Sets as follows:
Beauty
Outputting/saving a bitmap to ".eautyFrame_Beauty_.jpg" from the Render Output 'Save File' section.
No Render Elements enabled.
Reflection
No Ouput/file saved from the Render Output 'Save File' section.
Reflection Render Element enabled and outputting a bitmap to ".RefFrame_Ref_.jpg"
AO
Outputting/saving a bitmap to ".AOFrame_AO_.jpg"
AO material in Material Override section enabled.
Exposure Control deactivated.
Now when I switch between these state sets by clicking on the green arrows in the State Sets dialogue the 'output path' from the Beauty or AO state set gets transposed onto the output path in the Reflection Render Element in the Reflection state set.
It seems that Max 'recreates' the Render element each time the green arrow for that state set is clicked and any active Render Element inherits the output path from the previously active state set.
This effectively renders them unworkable for managing Render Elements.
I have isolated two issues in AE CC where I can duplicate a failed render with this message:
After Effects error: Rendering error while writing file "xxx". An output module failed. The file may be damaged or corrupted. (-1610153464)
This happens when opening an AE CS6 project and trying to render a simple comp with only one text layer and a moving mask. It also just happened after my first round trip test with Cinema 4D. I could RAM preview the c4d layer but the output to Quicktime h.264 failed.
I have even tried a full reinstall of AE CC. I have the basic FxFactory Pro plugins and MagicBullet Looks installed, but neither are being used since this is a single 1280x720 comp with a single C4D layer. Plus like I said it failed with the same error in past CS6 files.
I don't know how to force disable a plugin to test that, but I can't see how an unused plugin could cause a render to fail like this.

We have repeated crashing on a scene that uses Light Tracer... if we remove Light Tracer it doesn't crash the nodes. It's particularly annoying that our other nodes are 24 cores and they work fine.
So, the spec of the crashing nodes with 32 cores are AMD Opteron 6276 2.30 ghz 4 processors (8 cores each). 64GB RAM, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.
I'm rendering at 1920x1080HD 25fps. Used the expression found on numerous threads including this one to generate whole number pixel shifts per frame.
t = time;fr = t/thisComp.frameDuration;x = value [0];s = 4; //Speed in pixels per frame [x, fr*s]
I generated the text and images in InDesign and exported as a PDF. Imported PDF into AE. Have tried a few whole number values for s including 4 and still getting judder.
Generated to H264 and Apple Pro Res codecs doesn't seem to make much difference to judder. Here is my AE project with PDF. Here is output as H264 (40MB).
Also included a Quartz Composer file .where I created the same whole number pixel movement as AE but rendering it out in Quartz Crystal I get different judder but no better. Quartz Composer previews in real time and Quartz Crystal renders same project that took some 16min+ in AE in about 30 seconds. But no smoother output — even when applying AA and Motion Blur at render time.
Any video encoder where I can down-sample say a 75 fps render to 25 fps with frame blending? Does Apple's Compressor do frame blending? What about some other app that I can get this out smoothly from. I have FCP installed but have never done a title in it either.
Since my Dell only has 60Hz at full native res (2560x1440) I set it to 1080p and selected 50Hz to see if that effected anything but it makes absolutely no difference to playback smoothness.

I am trying to animate a casino-like light board made of tens of light bulbs/leds. I thought the easiest way to do it would be creating a matrix of bulbs arranged by material ID and then design a pattern in multi sub-object materiel so I could somehow scrub through it and achieve animation effect. The material modifier allows to change ID for the whole object only and MaterialByElement shuffle ID`s in a random manner.

I am attempting to build a facsimilie enigma machine, I would like to know how best to create an effect so that when a key is pressed a corresponding letter appears to light up. Btw I am not looking for an animated image, I can take care of the transitions between on and off, I just need to create the two image states.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my job as a cartographer I regualrly get asked to create advertisements for mining magazines. The ads usually contain both text and images. The colours I use in Coreldraw are PMS colours and the images are CMYK colours.
The problem I have is when I publish my ad to PDF the PMS colours always come out fine (which I would expect) but the image colours always look dull and washed out. The only time the images look fine when I publish to PDF is when I use output to RGB hut the printers then reject my ad (naturally). Is there something I need to do to the image in Photopaint?
I have taken this image under poor lighting in a restaurant, and need to know how to best retore the colours in this lifeless image.
Yes, I know it ain't the greatest image - all I am hoping to do is remove the colour cast and get some of the natural colors in there.
I've tried tweaking it through "Selective colour", but this only seems to get me so far.
After I've edited a image in Lightroom and then import or view in a web browser all the colors appear dull. However, these images appear normal when opened in Photoshop or in Windows Photo Viewer. If I do ALL the editing in Photoshop alone, these images appear fine when viewed in a browser. So, I'm assuming that the problem lies in Lightroom.

I created an RGB file in Illustrator CS5. I saved an .eps, also RBG, and the colors are much duller. I've tweaked the color settings and tried using Pantone colors to no avail. Not sure what else to do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am editing photos for a friend on LR5. The catalog is on an external drive. She starts the edit on her computer (a Mac) and then I take the drive to finish (I also use a Mac). The problem is, when I open the catalog, her edited photos come up beautiful at first, but when I click on them, they come up dull and flat. This is not all of her photos, either, just some of them. I have tried to figure out what is going on, why they are like this. I want to be able to sync settings to make this editing easier, but when I sync, all of the photos end up flat and dull. They are Canon raw files and we are using the VSCO film presets.

I have the latest driver updates and am have the printer letting the application manage the color with the correct setting in profile.

So what happens when I Save For Web, flat, dull with muted tones. What am I doing wrong? The picture is in RGB 8 bit.
