Max Design 2014: Where in the world is the region render button? It's been ages since it was a default, but you could always get it by going to customize menu. Now there no longer seems to be a listing. Any simple region render button is still possible?

I have a large scene that I need to split into 5 strips that are rendered in 5 different "looks". I vaguely recall seeing a tutorial on how to type in values for the size and location of a region render. ...Hmmm, now that I think about it, it may have been a blowup render.
Anyway, is there a way to type in the values for a region render?

Im trying to render a model without the background . I've changed the resolution to 1920x1080 and it seems like autocad rendering all the background+the model to this resolution, so the final result is a lot of background and a model that you cant see the details. the file should be a jpeg or other common picture format but in high resolution.the picture attached is what i got

I have a drawing model where I cannot create a filled region in one sheet, but on other sheets in the same model I can. the filled region appears but does not mask anything - it is transparent. Transparency is set correctly (to zero) and I have tried bringing it to the front.
Running Revit LT 2014 with latest update.
in 2012 I was able to have filled regions with a model pattern. In 14 the bubble to change the cut fill pattern is greyed out. I need to be able to rotate a pattern so i need a model one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm pulling my hair out about trying to figure out why my 3ds max design won't work (student version). The program will open, the welcome screen will come up, but within seconds of having a new file open, the program stops responding. This happens 100% of the time and generally within 10 seconds of being open. The program will not let me do anything before it freezes.
I have installed all three service packs. I have an i7 processor, runs off a solid state hard drive (a brand new one), 12 GB RAM, the graphics card is a few years old but should be fine.
I tried to render with FG and GI in Softimage 2014 , But I can not render ,Now what should I do to active the essential part of Mental Ray ? Final Gather and Global Illumination ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have autodesk building design suite premium 2014 on the machines at our office and I can't civil view to run on any of the four computers. There is an error message that says: "no civil view country resource kit folders could be found in the following loaction...". I have seen something online that says to find the civilview2014.msi and run it manually. I have tried that and it says that it can't find autode~1.cab. I have searched the pc and cannot find that file anywhere.
I think the software was installed from a flash drive. Would downloading the software and reinstalling it do anything?
I have also installed all updates and service packs for this product.
i use a great jukebox program called touchjams , im skinning a version now for my use , ive had a lot of tries now creating a button i like but just cant seem to get it right..i am trying to do a very realistic 3d button , maybe silver looking like a stereo button.

I want to make a button, and redo it about 30 times, the wording in the button will be... 1958, then 1959, then 1960, right the way to 1989, How do i make a blank button, then edit it 30 times without starting out from scratch, and how do i save each button without over writing the original blank "master" i have created.

When I open a fresh scene, load MR and go to Render Settings my Quality, Indirect Lighting and Options tabs are not working. Quality is minimised to the top left and the others are blank.
I've tried the following :
- Uninstalling Mental Core
- deleting all prefs, scripts etc
- deleteUI unifiedRenderGlobalsWindow; buildNewSceneUI;
Attached are what I see in each of the problem tabs and below is all output from the script editor as I open Maya, load mental ray and then click on each tab in turn.

I'm still tying to get used to Render instead of Process. While this begins to work I find the Render Button in the left side an obstacle when in a pace. Better would be the right side.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
I have came across a couple that require you to use the design tab but I do not have a design tab. I then try and use the add ins button to intall it but when i click on it, nothing happens.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am doing a trial of Revit 2014. Usually I get the student version, but I enjoy 30 days with no stamp. I want to do some night renders, and so I dropped in studio lights that aren't showing up at all in the "sun and artifical" render.
I go to adjust the lights with the "Artificial Lights" button and nothing. No response at all. It's like a fake button that just looks like it's being clicked.
When opening a top assembly I have the "Place button" and can place new items into the assembly.
When I open a subassembly from within the top assembly, the place button is greyed out.
When I open the same subassembly directly, not having the top assembly loaded, the place button is back again.
This is a new fenomenon for 2014 and I cannot figure out why the place button suddenly greyes out.
I do not run Vault client although it was installed. The problem remains after having uninstalled the Vault client.
There doesn't appear to be any preloaded content in my Style library - how to populate this library?

I just finished installing autodesk 3ds max 2012-64 bit. There's a small problem that im facing due to which my work is getting delayed.
Description:
1. The model is completed.
2. Renderer is assigned to 'mental ray'.
3. When in the material editor, when i click on "Arch and Design", the drop down template is MISSING.
Installation was perfectly fine.
I just loaded 2014 onto a new computer and poof every custom toolbar has a question mark. Yet the image displays on the preview in the cui.
All of my button images are in a folder on my C: drive and that path is in the support file search path.
I went to one of the buttons and click on the small and large image and browsed to the folder with the BMP files and clicked it for both small and large.. And when I clicked 'ok' everything started to display correctly.

The installation of IDSP has been an adventure. After a few rough starts Autodesk support team got us through the installation of 2 computers. Now I am attempting to install IDSP on my computer and have run into a number of errors that between this forum and Autodesk support I have worked through.
I start the install once again and looked like everything was installing ok.
That is until I get an message "Allied product is not found" and the install fails and removes all installations up to this point. The failure happened while installing the Civil 3D Language Pack.
Install log states:

So I have this issue where opening the compact material editor a second time causes 3ds max design to totally crash. I cant figure out why it is doing that. I have tried reinstalling the software, even tried re-dowloading it and nothing works, have all the service packs and so on. Funny thing is that it works when using the slate editor. I can recreate the bug every time. Just open 3ds max design 2014 x64. Press material editor (assuming its in comact mode), close the editor and then open it again. Immediatly the program will crash to desktop, telling me that the progam has stopped responding.

We have just recently install Building Design Suite Standard 2014 and the tool palettes DO NOT work.
Clicking on the standard palettes that load with ACAD will not even work. We have also tried to make new ones and the will not MAKE (for lack of words).
Here is the Autocad warning it gives us:
Unable to execute the tool. Possible causes are:
-The tool is not registered properly. Please check your installation.
-the tool is from another application and is incompatible with the current application.
We are running a new copy and it IS registered.
I keep getting a dialogue box that says "Revit was unable to render the view due to an unknown error during render calculations. The rendering operation will be canceled." The only option is to click "close" and when i do so, it continues to render but only the sky and grass. My buildings are not present.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe same scene, same settings, produce 2 very different outputs in max 2011 and 2012, render to texture for normals is currently useless in max 2012.
The blue one is a correct tangent normal map created from a sphere in max 2011, the colored one is the the one created inside max 2012 from the same objects and settings, and the last is another sample of normals generated in max 2012.
I have created a 3d model of a football stadium, but when I try to render it, it comes up with this message and it cannot render the scene. I've tried everything I can to fix it, but nothing has worked.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

I know it works with State Set by changing camera view. But Batch render should work too.

And I also want to make clear that I do not want to use "render to texture". I dont want to do any projection against an other mesh, I want to do it directly to the camera.
