GIMP :: Trying To Design A Button For Using On Website
Aug 30, 2012
I'm trying to design a button and use it on my website, i have been on youtube and found a great video BUT... I want to make a button, and redo it about 30 times, the wording in the button will be... 1958, then 1959, then 1960, right the way to 1989, How do i make a blank button, then edit it 30 times without starting out from scratch, and how do i save each button without over writing the original blank "master" i have created.
I was wonder if anybody knew where i could go to design a free website. I dont even know where to start..so somewhere that pretty much lays out the steps to go through.
I've been working on my site and I thought it would be nice to get some opinion from other people about the design of it and how it will work with the coding in difficulty level. I'm trying to learn from my brother as he guides me through the coding part of it and does certain things but he's been extremely picky about the text so I've been trying to adjust my design slightly. Hahaha, this design is probably worse for the text than my last one was.
I am a self thought user of CorelDraw11 and i have been having great fun using it. I now want to move a bit forward into something much more advanced. I want to design a website using CorelDraw11.
My question now is, is it possible to design a website using CorelDraw11?
I seem to be having a problem with jagged text when trying to design a webpage in PS. I have the resolution set to 72dpi because it is only for the web. However I have noticed that any text I add seems very jagged. I have tried applying smooth, criss etc which seems to fix it a little bit but not as good as it should. One strange thing I did notice was that I had added a text banner to my page which was jagged. Then later on I added another one and it seemed perfect. Im not sure what I did to the second one to make it better than the first lot of text I added.
i use a great jukebox program called touchjams , im skinning a version now for my use , ive had a lot of tries now creating a button i like but just cant seem to get it right..i am trying to do a very realistic 3d button , maybe silver looking like a stereo button.
I have came across a couple that require you to use the design tab but I do not have a design tab. I then try and use the add ins button to intall it but when i click on it, nothing happens.
Max Design 2014: Where in the world is the region render button? It's been ages since it was a default, but you could always get it by going to customize menu. Now there no longer seems to be a listing. Any simple region render button is still possible?
I have created an animated gif using gimp. The gif loops fine when I open it in my image viewer and even if I open the image in my browser. I have created a website and want the image on the site, but when I upload it to the site, it doesn't animate / loop. I would really like the image to loop automatically when visitors view the site.
I want to widen my website banner image from 950px to cover the whole width of the screen no matter what resolution or monitor
it's the blue image at [URL].......
I want to position the logo and the words exactly where they are right now but 'stretch' the image along with its shading gradient, right across the screen.
I used gimp to create an image map but for some reason cant make that visible on my website. I know there is something I have to do with...source code I guess but I'm not sure how.....?
I would like to add "frames" to some of the graphics I'm using on a website. The frame I want is really just a white border of 8 or 10 pixels on each of the four sides; the pictures will all be rectangles.
I tried doing a frame like this in Gimp 2.8 (in Windows 8) earlier today and couldn't think of a way to do this very easily. I thought about drawing a white line along the edge of each side of the rectangle but didn't know a good way to draw a straight line of the desired thickness exactly where I want it. I thought about using the eraser to turn the edges white but that seemed clumsy.
I am building my first website for myself. I am using Elegant Themes, which uses WordPress. I am attempting to modify (reduce in size) a banner on my website, which appears within a slider on the homepage. After modifying the image in Gimp 2.8, I attempt to save/export the new image, and a window appears "The folder contents could not be displayed." How can I proceed?
If I the image map I use for my website.....could have copyable text.
For instance.... here is a link to a page on my website...the whole body of the webpage is a png image that I made using gimp and the image map option. The problem is that the text is not copyable...since it is part of the image. Is there a way to keep the format as it is, but make the test copyable as if it were a website made by the regular, HTML programming way?
using Gimp to create a website header that includes image mapping. I figured out how (Filters > Web > Image Map). I just can't figure out how to save it in a format that I can then upload to a Bandcamp website.
I can open a graphic in Gimp that I made in Powerpoint. A second window opens with the same graphic and that is where I add the image mapping. So now how do I save it so that when I upload it the tags are there? Or am I supposed to copy all the tags and then paste that code? I can find the place in Bandcamp where the code gets pasted - but I haven't yet figured out how to copy the code.
I have a few thousand files that I need to process into colour swatches for a web site. The process entails locating a suitable area of each image, cropping that area to 25 pixels square, and saving the result. Obviously, I need to be able to do this as quickly as possible; ideally with just a single click for each image, and so I'd like to set up a script in order to batch-process the images. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that a suitable position on one image is going to be at all suitable for another, so a limited amount of interactivity is required.
Is it possible to set up an interactive batch task, or would some other approach be required?
Well, i made some buttons for a forum, but how do I attach a link to it to make it go to where I need? For example, if I make a button that says Forum, and make it go to to the forum part of the website?
I have some grapes where i have to draw circles upon. In these circles i have to enter some text. Note - here is an example, where you can see how the whole task is meant!?
See the example - and see the results...
How to add the circles with the opaque design - (note they look like they are drawn with pastell colors - aren't they )

I've been using GIMP for years now, even professionally for the last year. There's one thing I still haven't ever done, and would love to do: designing a new interface for GIMP from scratch. I'm just not sure how to go about it.
I could of course take the images of another theme and edit them as I see fit, and publish the final result as a new skin. But I don't want to do that - I want to do a proper job and design one from scratch.
The graphical part is not an issue. It's the technical part I'm not sure about, like for example:- how do I make sure I get all the necessary image files? Is there an encrypted theme file or something I have to unzip or whatever?- are there any additional programs I need to use to do that?- same for putting it together: Do I need to compile the images into a theme file, and if so, what program do I need for that?
I need to make a Button For a wiki and Im not sure how to they want it circular with a image in it but not sure how i should do it heres a example of what they want just a diff. image. it just needs to be a circle and cant have any Background so it has to have a transparent background except for the image it self .
But imagine the huge dismay felt when this dedicated user updated GIMP to 2.8.6 and found there was no maximise button any more! Is there anyway to get this button back??
I use it regularly as part of my work-flow, and now I find this once fantastic app pretty much rendered useless to me.
Not having the maximise button also doesn't allow me to see the bottom part of the program's window, so the bottom slider is useless to me.
Not having this pretty much puts my budding photography on-hold, as I resent having to pay an extortionate amount for Gimp's closest 'worthy' competition. That, and photosh*t doesn't play nice with Linux anyway.
Also, I don't have the ready cash to rush out and buy a larger monitor (for a laptop thats screen size works well for all other apps) just to use Gimp.
I would like to make a glass button using the following tutorial:

How to complete the "distort circle" part of step 4? In other words, what tool would I use to move the top of the circle downwards?
Step 4: Copy and paste your original circle onto a third new layer. Fill it with an even lighter shade of your selected button color. Distort this circle by moving the top downward while leaving the size and position unchanged. You want the top of the new shape to be around halfway down the original circle.
Also, how can I turn the completed project into an orb/planet/pearl shape?
I want to deconstruct a design and rearrange the parts.I have a horizontal banner-style logo with an image on the left and text stretching out to the right. I want to make a square badge by moving the text to be above the image.
Using logic I copied and pasted the EPS original to make three layers. Then I tried cropping to create the various elements (one is the image, two others are words). It's not working. Each time I crop one layer, all the layers crop.
Obviously I'm missing a step or two in isolating the layers or something. I have been using the EPS version of the logo file but I also have it in PNG and JPG.
I am a casual user of Gimp and am trying to design a card that uses slashed zero fonts, both those that are included in Windows 7 and others that I have added. When I use any of the slashed zero fonts with a zero that has been typed in Gimp, the top of the slashed zero is clipped. This happens with every one I tried, yet the same fonts display perfectly in other programs such as Word and Open Office. Is there a setting that is causing this or any way to correct it? If I can';t get this to work in Gimp I will have to move to another program as the slashed zero is a requirement for the project.
I have a logo that I created using the script fu macros. What I want to do now is that create a button shape with rounded edge and put the logo ( a rectangular) and bend its edges to wrap around the button without distorting the text of the logo itself. how do I do that?
Today I found out that my Gimp 2.8 haven´t a "text along path" button in the text tool dialog. I must make it via the context menu of the text layer. Why is missing that button there?
after I created a path , added text, I couldn't find the "text along path" button (which is supposed to be at the bottom (text)tool option), so how can I make it appear?
