i use a great jukebox program called touchjams , im skinning a version now for my use , ive had a lot of tries now creating a button i like but just cant seem to get it right..i am trying to do a very realistic 3d button , maybe silver looking like a stereo button.
View 4 Repliesive been trying all day to get a decent button made for a jukebox program , the best i could do is attatched but its just still not right , im after a realistic looking button that looks like its on and off when pressed , off light blue/grey and on green , a nice metalic silver around the outside that looks a little 3d when small if thats possible i think im close but just need to be more realistic around the edges and lighting on the green on button i made the oblong button from the circle using the single selection line which i never new about , stretched one pixel across after splitting the circle in two , by the way if your after software for music this is a great program , if the right button is designed i could probably get it free or for a small amount its normally 50 bucks , if its a great button im sure ill get it free a squarer edge button would be better i think

I want to make a button, and redo it about 30 times, the wording in the button will be... 1958, then 1959, then 1960, right the way to 1989, How do i make a blank button, then edit it 30 times without starting out from scratch, and how do i save each button without over writing the original blank "master" i have created.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a .psd file that was created by someone else for my friends web page. The psd file is the background, logo, and navigational bar for her home page. Each button is a "slice" I think because there are lines around each button on the left side navigational bar (not a true navigational bar just created by buttons) and around the head and body etc. (The lines are blue if that tells you anything - each section is numbered with a little tiny icon that looks a little like the back of an envelope.)
My question - we wanted to change the word on one of the buttons - I did that saved the psd file - no problem. Then I cropped out the button that we had changed. When I saved it to the web (as a jpg) the button looks like a button (a box around it - not a line a raised area that looks like a button.) The other buttons do NOT look like a button (even though the layers are named buttons.)
How can I change it so it looks flat (not button like) like all of the rest of the items on the navigational bar.
I am growing increasinly frustrated. I just installed AutoCAD LT 2013 on my laptop. I managed to get everything customized the way I want, except the button icons on my (classic) toolbar are much too small. If I go into the menu and select 'use large icons', they are too huge. My screen resolution DOES NOT need to be changed or adjusted. I went to the help menu to see what I can do, and found that I can go into CUI and adjust the size of the button icons that way, via the button image editor, however there is no 'button image editor' dialog box when I select any given toolbar command.

I was wondering, Since my current CS3 is alread registered do I load Design Standard CS3 and just not choose Photoshop CS3 at the beginning of the Design Standard install process? Will I be able to use my Design Standard serial number to register the product and have it not effect my existing registered version of Photoshop CS3?

Alt + scrollwheel is the greatest tool for zooming in Photoshop!
However, every time you cease zooming and go for the move tool (V) it opens up the View menu at the top of the program window. Every time you go for the full screen mode (F) it opens the file menu. Every time you go for the hand/pan tool (space bar) it opens the program menu at the top of the window. Every time you go for the wand tool (W) it opens the window menu at the top of the program. Every single time. Though there are two ways to overcome it:
1. by quickly pressing ALT once after you finish zooming
2. hitting escape
It is easy to forget to do these and I feel this shouldn't be a problem in the first place, as you can clearly tell. Often times, I hit (F, F) and it opens the File Menu>File Info... since the ALT command has already been activated. [/vent] I just wonder who else has this same problem, and what are your solutions?
ok my firend opend a site and i hooked him up with fly log-go right well then he wanted more so he wants me to make him some buttons on his sight like you know people got dem little squares that you clikc and go to like a page or to there site i was jw how to make one i got the box and i made the pc and stuff but how do i make it so i cna put it on his site and click it and it goes to a page or so that if they click the picture it goes to his home page?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I resize an image to a smaller size line and so on dont stay as sharp as they did from the original size....is there a way to prevent this?
Resizing up or down requires a remap of the pixels so there is almost always some interpolation and therefore softening.
But when resizing down you can improve the quality by picking you scale percentage carefully. If you scale to fifty percent, for instance, the interpolation can toss every other
pixel rather than interpreting inbetween them. I have had some improved results (I think)
by using this method. In theory scaling down 25 percent tosses every forth pixel... 75 percent, 3 of out of four. So you might try scaling to on of these first and then doing another scale from there. It may seem counterintuative to do two scale and get a better result but I had a job a few years back that required holding the sharpness of a grid when scaled down. Back then I tested this and it seems to work. But it has been too long and so I wouldn't bet the farm on this one.
The other option is to set the interpolation method to Nearest Neighbor. This method doesn't fade between pixels, it just replicates or tosses the existing ones. It will keep things like lines sharp.
I am trying to determine how to build a site that breaks out of the typical "tabled" layout. I've heard that CSS is good for layout, but not sure the tabless effect I am looking for requires CSS, or just good background design in Photoshop.
My experience is more with HTML sites, incorporating FLASH (made with SWiSH) elements, and PHP for database. I code everything by hand, no use of apps such as <HACK!> Frontpage.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy designer has created some pdf portfolios from In Design (which I don't own and have never used) . They are quite blurry and off color. I have taken the same images and run them in PHotoshop and Bridge 4 and the pdfs produced by PS and Bridge looks 10 times shaper and clearer.
This gets complex becuase they are all formatted quite complexly for In Design, and it will take too much time to re-formatt them for Photoshop or Bridge. But she has no idea why they are not coming out sharp and nice with In Design.
It's not compression.
She has been outputting with no compression from In Design and they still look subpar.
Do you use PS to design your entire site or do you just do the graphics stuff in PS and then do the site layout in Dream weaver or another html editor? Im wondering what the pros and cons are to designing the entire site in PS would be over using DW for layout etc.
