3ds Max Animation :: Face To Animate Without Distorting Texture - Link UV Keys To Morpher Modifier

I've got a character that is based on a product and I want the face to animate without distorting the texture. ie I'd like the texture to slide across the geometry in a specific way as it animates.

I've animated the UV coordinates so that it does this, but I'd like to link the UV keys to the morpher modifier so that they animate automatically.

Is this possible?

I am using Max 2011

Illustrator :: Modifier Keys Not Working?

I am working on OS 10.8.3. Just installed Adobe Illustrator (CS4), and the modifier keys (shift, space bar, etc.) won't work at all. I have even uninstalled Illustrator and re-installed. I have tried the following:
 
• Uninstalling & Reinstalling Firefox
• Deleting preference files
• Rebooting
• Creating a test user (keys still didn't work)
• Cutting out processes in the activity monitor
• Cutting out keyboard shortcuts in system preferences
 
I am working on a new computer, so have no non-default programs installed except for firefox.

Paint.NET :: Modifier Keys Temporarily Highlight Selected Pixels

When working with selections - particularly when adding multiple Magic Wand selections to build the selection required - it can be difficult to see clearly (from the shading and outlines which show the current selection) what is selected already and what isn't - particularly at some zoom levels and depending upon the colour(s) of the pixels that you are working with (blue-greys, for example).

My suggestion, therefore, is that in any of the Selection tools, while you are holding down either of the modifier keys Ctrl or Alt (which would modify the Selection Mode of any further selection to Add or Subtract mode), all currently selected pixels should be temporarily highlighted - overridden by a single colour (say, your current primary colour?) with the shading (and outlines?) that normally depict the currently selected pixels removed. This would make it easy to visually confirm exactly what pixels are currently selected.

Perhaps the removal of outlines ought to depend upon the magnification that is currently being used: at high magnifications where each pixel is depicted by a relatively large screen area and the outline can be easily distinguished from the interior of each pixel, then outlines (perhaps of your current secondary colour?) might work to define the selected area, but where pixels are very small it might be best to remove them.

Also, as a visual indicator/reminder of the modification which the modifier key will make to the effect of the next selection - and one that is slightly larger than the minuscule plus or minus sign that appears in the mouse pointer - would it be easy to temporarily override the Selection Mode symbol showing in the tool selection toolbar, with the symbol for the modified effect, whenever the modifier key is depressed?Not forgetting that this symbol ought to change again if the Right Mouse Button is used instead of the Left.

If the above is easy, then, in the Magic Wand tool, could the Flood Mode symbol in the tool selection toolbar be similarly temporarily overridden with the Global Flood Mode symbol, when the shift key is used to override Contiguous Flood Mode?

Maya Modeling :: How To Reduce Face / Poly Count Without Distorting Mesh

I have a mesh that is made up of all quads and is a pretty dense object. I need to reduce the number of faces so can make it easier to work with and edit.

Whenever i use the reduce tool it takes my mesh that is all quads and distorts it to create a mesh that looks like the second picture above. How can i reduce my face or poly count without distorting my mesh so badly and keep only quads.

Edge Animate CC :: How To Animate A Link With A Hover Feature

I'm looking for a way to animate a link with a hover feature. I would like the link to be initally blank, but after hovering hover the link, a colored rectangle of sorts slides in from left to right, essentially creating a new background color. When the cursor moves off of the link, the colored rectangle in the background would slide back to the left, disappearing.
 
After some thought, initially it sounds like an animation of clipping masks. Not sure if this is possible in Edge, or if I am on the right track.

I love the link to the right of the screen that says "Watch the trailer." It's a simple, beautiful animation that gives the site a great look.

I've migrated from Maya to 3ds Max for character animation and was wondering - When I apply a skin modifier then go to 'Edit envelopes' - is there an equivalent to maya's artisan interface? i.e. Can I paint weights with a brush rather than vertex by vertex or entering numbers?

how to rig a character using a biped, and following everything closely on a character I made earlier.

However, when I clicked the attach to node button after applying the physique modifier my character mysteriously disappeared...While in the tutorial he could select the biped after clicking on the button and assign it.

Now the problem probably has something to do with me having 3Ds Max 2011. How to make sure my character won't simply disappear.

I have a single-mesh model, pre-rigged and textured. I am trying to export it into a format which has a bone-limit of 59 bones per mesh. This model, however, has over 100 bones.
 
I'm really not very good at doing rigging from scratch; someone else rigged this for me. I need to split up the mesh, so the model meets the less-than-59-bones-per-mesh rule. 
 
Is there a way to do this without destroying the skin modifier, and having to re-skin the whole thing? I'd like it to end up as several meshes, which all work as one in terms of rigging.

I flick the light on and off on skin modifier, when its off the skelleton fits the model perfectly and when it,s on the hand and arm has been liftet outside the skel.

I created a rig in MAX 32bit but recently loaded 64 bit MAX but now when I choose the skin modifier/edit envelopes, I cannot choose bones to edit. The interface just flashes and I am not able to select verts on the mesh. I had originally used the weight tool to change the weights of each vert on the mesh, now it doesn't work at all.

I'm using PS CS3,

I have to take old black and white photos and replace the old faces with those of living people. The photos were scanned out of various photo books, and some of them were quite old. I used de-screening when I scanned them in, but there is still a 'texture' to the original photo and it doesn't look right when I put a nice, clear face off a digital camera shot to replace the original face.

I can buy a DVD tutorial from PixelPops to show me how this is done, but is there a simple way to do this so I don't have to spend the money? Yes, I can do a google search, but I don't even know what term to use for this particular process. I thought it might involve the healing or cloning tools,

3ds Max :: Locating Animation Keys For Exposure Value?

I seem to have accidentally animated Exposure Value (located within the Exposure Control).

I don't know how to eliminate the animation and even though I try to manually reset the Exposure Value by turning of Autokey and then setting Exposure Value to the setting I want, I keep encountering a persistence of the animation.

What I mean is that I might reset the Exposure Value to zero, but then when I scrub the track, the Exposure value starts to change. I cannot figure out how to fix this as no matter where I reset the Exposure Value, when I scrub back and forth on the track, the Exposure Value changes to other values...

I've tried looking in the Curve Editor, but haven't been able to find keys. I also don't see any keys in the track.

Maya Animation :: Keys Show Up Between Frames?

I've been having this issue with Maya's timelines since my first usage of 2010 (on Windows) and now 2011 on Mac. The problem is an odd one, My keys start to show up "between" two frames in my timeline. This makes selecting and moving, and judging timeline distances super difficult. If I open up the graph editor, I get the same results.

I'm running Maya 2011 x64 Educational SP1 on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on an 2009 iMac. I'm not sure this has any bearing on what is happening in my timeline, as I've had similar results on a Windows machine a few years ago.

I've been working on this scene for a few weeks now, and only recently did this start happening, near the end of the timeline in the scene. I am working at 24fps REALTIME, which is necessary for the project. I have also tried scaling the timeline up and won, but I get no relief from the problem.

I made a stupid mistake and started lip-syncing a long piece of animation at 25 FPS instead of 24 which I need to use. I just set it to 24 and it put all of my keys on frames like 10.68 or 54.22, it has become really frustrating to animate with. I was wondering if there's some way to snap these keyframes to solid keys instead of having them on decimals, I don't care if the animation is slightly off, I can fix it later.
