3ds Max Animation :: How To Include The Linked Constraints In Bundle
Oct 25, 2011
I have a little animation of molecules forming and breaking down in cycle. The animation is keyframed but there are also Linked Constraints involved with no keyframes.
How can I bundle up or group this animation and objects including the linked constraint timings and clone it so I can then scale up and down the animation time and keep everything in working order?
Basically, How can I include the Linked Constraints in my bundle?
Win7 Pro 64bit
I7 3680 6 core 12MB cache w Corsair H80 liquid cooling
ASUS P9X79
32 GB DDR3
NVidia Quadro 5000
3TB WD
In Illustrator 6, you have to check "include linked files" every time you save a document. If you don't, the next time you open it, you are looking for the missing link. Is there a way that I can set a default so that it automatically checks it each time?
say objectA and objectB are both Parent constraining objectC. how would I remove the constraint of say, objectB? because in the outliner it only shows up as 1 constraint that has 2 W values.
I am animating a character for a game. The biped has a sword in his left hand. I constrained a locator to the wrist control, then constrained the sword to the locator, and on the sword's control added an attribute called "Connect". Obviously, 0 kills the weight of the connection, 1 keeps it as is. So, when the character needs to let go of the sword I set the Connect attribute to 0. Works perfect.
except, that when I set the Connect attribute to 0 (subsequently killing the constraint weight) the sword controller snaps back to bind pose. I'd love to maintain the offset, so if I kill the locator weight the sword will no longer follow the wrist control but at least stay where it is instead of snapping back to T-Pose/Bind.
if it is possible to keep the wiring of an attribute intact when I redefine it? and whayt if I added a parameter and rollout from other attribute from the same attribute holder, can I bring it all wirede or do I have to re connect all again?
I need to drive more than one constraint at a time. Â The assembly consist of a hydraulic ram that pulls a cable which is routed around a few pullys and then pulls another linear moving member. Â I don't really care about modeling the cable right now, I just want the cylinder piston and the final member to move in unison. Â I can only drive one constraint at a time, so I figured I could relate the two constraints together by setting them equal to a parameter (variable), but that isn't working. Â Is it me or is driving multiple constraints at a time something that would be very useful for a lot of applications? Â
I'm modeling cables running through a series of cable clamps. I'm working in an assembly with my structure as one part, clamps as seperate parts, and cables as separate parts. I modeled the clamps first and am using them to create my 3d spline to run the sweep. The clamps have moved several times and each time, the sweeps (cables) do not update to follow the new clamping path. I have tried multiple ways of solving this.
I've tried to redo the splines using "Include Geometry" and running the spline through the centers of the clamps. I've also deleted the constraints (which for some reason turn into fixed) and reapplied them as coincident constraints. However, once I setup these coincidences, they always change back to fixed.
In a last ditch method, I've created 2d sketches at EVERY clamping location (yes that's alot of sketches, time and effort) and projected the circular geometry to get a center point. This has seemed to work, but is so much work, there's no way we could use it regularly.
My designer has created an Illustrator file on his Mac that has linked images. When he sends me the all the files and I open the ai file in Illustrator CC on my Windows PC, I need to re-link the images. One image can't be found at all.  However, if I open the file in CS4 it finds the linked files no problem.  Is this some bug in Illustrator CC for Windows?
In Cable and Wire harness in AIP is there a way I can extract or dimension abundle diameter that is associative with the model? I was expecting that Ican dimension the diameter sizes in the nailboard drawing.
I had subsctibed to the single program verion of CC early last year and purchased LR5 as soon as it was available, long before the Photography Bundle was introduced. Now I have no need for LR5 licence. Is there a way to unregister the program and have everything under CC? I have no need to install on 4 machines. Possibly transfer the LR licence?
I installed per the dmg. The Topaz Labs site says the plugins install into the HD/Library/Application Support/ Topaz Labs folder. When you look in the PS CS5 Plugins folder the aliases of all the plugins are there and Get Info says they're in the above location .
I've used them in PS CS5, they work without problems. The installer was supposed to find all Photoshop apps and install into them. It installed in CS2 and PS Elements 4, but not in PS Elements 10. I emailed Topaz support a week ago and have had no response. I decided I'd try just copying the aliai into PS Elements 10 and see if it worked. Alas, lo,voila, que pasa. There is no Topaz Labs folder in Application Support. There is no Topaz Labs folder in the Adobe folder or its sub folders in Application Support. Mac Lion 10.7.3 .
I tried looking in the Library folder of my Users folder as well. No dice. I can't understand why the Get Info would say the alias points to Application Support/Topaz Labs when it doesn't exist there, and where the heck is the folder anyway, since the plugins actually work.
Concerning the folder "ApplicationPlugins" found in  C: Program File > Autodesk > ApplicationPlugins:
With AutoCAD 2012 I could dump my LISP routines that I use a lot and they would be auto-loaded in any drawing that I opened. I loved it....
With 2013, I try the same thing and it doesn't work. And from what I have been reading, I have to make a folder sturcture with the suffix ".bundle" and create an .xml file in order for these to run....
The ability of the  ApplicationPlugins folder from 2012 was awesome. Is there a way to make 2013 act like 2012 for this folder?I have checked my variables and they are set the same as 2012:
APPAUTOLOAD = 14
I have also ran the command APPAUTOLOADER and selected the "Reload" option and then Listed what applications it sees in the possible folders and it only recognizes folders that are .bundle folders AutoCAD Tips Blog
I found an old thread from 2011 about the same problem and the mod reported it to the devs, but as far as I know no solution has ever been offered.(maybe in cs6? we are still using cs5)For one or two layers it's no problem to do it manually, but with say 40 layers with corresponding linked layers we need a better solution.
I'm trying to get the autoloader working. [URL] .....
Looks like it's a 'fairly' new addition and dead simple but..
All I need to do is add a single resource folder in the bundle and to the xml file to be able to access the files in the dll.
How to modify the xml file and refer to this folder in the dll? Â <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><ApplicationPackage SchemaVersion="1.0" > <Components> <ComponentEntry AppName="DOTNETTEST2" ModuleName="./Contents/AutoloaderDotNetSample2.dll" LoadOnCommandInvocation="True" > <Commands GroupName="DevDays2010"> <Command Global="DOTNETTEST2" Local="DOTNETTEST2" /> </Commands> </ComponentEntry> </Components></ApplicationPackage>
I can't remember where I got the resource files from.
Here is the DevCast for creating the installer. [URL] ....
Also is there a way to change the path depending on whether or not you are debugging?
In VB6 I used a function
Public Function IsIDE() As Boolean 'Returns boolean value of True if not compiled IsIDE = (App.LogMode = 0)End Function
We are using .cuix file which gives access to tools in custom .arx file in AutoCAD 2012/2013. We load the menu using the .bundle mechanism and the plug-in - using button from the menu. If the user is Administrator (or executes AutoCAD as Administrator)Â the menu, toolbars and ribbons are loaded correctly and the user can load and unload the application (lisp function in .mnl file is used for that), but if the user is not an administrator either the menu, toolbars and ribbons are not correctly loaded or they are loaded, but the user can not load the application.
We have found that a probable cause for this behaviour is that AutoCAD tries to create/renew the .mnr file when first loading a .cuix file and since the user has no administrator rights this can't be done in the "C:Program FilesAutodeskApplicationPlugins" folder where the bundle is and AutoCAD creates the .mnr file in its own support folder ("C:Users<User>AppDataRoamingAutodeskAutoCAD 2012R18.2...Support") together with a copy of the .cuix file and changes the path for loading the .cuix file to this location. Since the .mnl file containing the function for loading/unloading is not copied with the .cuix file the application can not be loaded.
The user has to delete the created files under the support path of AutoCAD, unload the .cuix file and then reload it from the correct location to resolve the problem. Restarting AutoCAD leads to the same problem.
Is there a way to prevent this behavior other then running AutoCAD as administrator (that is not always an option)?
I no longer use any of the other CS programs such (Illustrator, InDesign etc ...) I'm a heavy ps user and would like to upgrade just that part of the program. In fact, I just bought a new laptop and only installed PS. The online chat person for Adobe said I cannot upgrade just PS and have to upgrade the whole bundle ... is this correct?
I am installing the programs on my new 64 bits computer , which runs windows 8 in a language which is not english. At the very beginning of the setup I noticed that it detected the language of sist. op. and that it would install cs6 in such language.Â
If I install cs6 I will have all menus , tools and resources in other language and it will be very cumbersome to work with it.Perhaps with the best of the intention to make people feel comfortable with their own language you have made it this way.But there are several other guys like me that want it IN ENGLISH. As a long time user of photoshop I never worked in other language than english and I will never do it.
It looks like it is a new trend to detect the op sistem language , I have had the same problem with Nero Platinum 12 , and others. Is there a way to install Cs6 in English ?
After you create a drawing view, surfaces can be included or excluded from drawing views. Files that contain only surfaces automatically include the surfaces in a drawing view. Is there a way to disable this functionality?
When looking at the list of files in My Pictures, is there a way to get the MPG files to show a graphic or snapshot from the movie, similar to the way a thumbnail works with jpg files? They currently display an image of film with "MPEG" at the bottom.
I am trying to place a pic of Elisabeth shue on a different background but the method I am using doesnt seem to work or I may lack the technique.
The method I was sure would work is select a color channel to get some if any contrast between the background and subject. choose high pass filter, Choose Image>Adjust>Levels (I put the levels at about 100 for left and 180 for right)
Then using the lasso I alt clicked and selected the inside of subject. With the lasso selection I ctrl deleted to fill with white. Finally I did the best clean up job to rid of any uneeded info that I could.
Went to color composite, control clicked to make selection. The selection was horrible and leaked to the outside. I also tried another picture and the same results.
How can this be done so I have a professional looking image to use for creating another picture with different scenery?
I have Xara Extreme 5 and Xara Web Designer 7 Premium. These, plus Windows Live Photo Gallery, do most of what I want: design my own personal & simple websites and process photos, mostly to use on my websites. I build panoramas quite a lot (generally three to five & sometimes more photos).
WD7 Prem does have a pano builder but appears to be a cut down version (How cut down?) and recommends upgrading. Unlike Microsoft ICE (part of Windows Live Essentials) it requires the photos to be in the correct order and may be able to handle fewer photos. It does do a nice job of what it does. What capabilities does the upgraded version of Xara Pano have and is the upgrade the same as that in Pro?
Where does Photo & Graphic Designer (& pro) fit? I can find other comparisons not including WD7 Premium.
Do the Pro versions include anything like Photosynth - allowing you to take, say, 30 or more photos including close-ups and to synthesis all so you can pan an object and zoom in/out on specific areas? For example, I would like to photograph a gully and zoom in on various rock art features and flora & fauna in the gully and to use the finished study on my website?
I have a problem with referencing an appropriate instance of Ps from Lr. I don't know too much how this works with Lr & Mac, or how it happened, but I apparently have several instances of Ps referencing different plugins, and Lr's default references the wrong one.  History: I tried the Topaz Labs plugins but ended up pruchasing and installing Nik's plugins. I followed Topaz instructions for uninstalling the plugins, but they are still showing up in Ps instances I cannot find.  The appropriate instance of Ps in in my Mac's launch tray, which calls up the app located in the folder '/Applications/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS5.1'. If I create an additional Lr external editor that points at this app it works properly. However, the default external editor (Ps) opens up another instance of Ps which does not include Nik plugins, but rather Topaz Labs plugins.  Further, if I try to open a image file from Finder ('open with') I get an "application moved" message (update or not). If I choose either 'update' or 'not to update' it opens an instance of Ps that includes both Topaz and Nik plugins. The message is mysterious, but at least I get an instance of Ps with the plugins I want.  Aside from the mystery, how can I get Lr to reference Ps that will include the Nik plugins?? Also feel free to contribute to the mystery.
At the moment I animate the weight from 0 to 1 and vice versa over a frame, but when I reopen the damn scene its all wacky. What the heck is going on here?
I tried to install ET PickUp but its giving me an error to do so.
Now that I'm getting much more familiar with Revit, I am really loving the true parametric environment, especially for 3D objects. I know that AutoCAD finally introduced Parametric Constraints a few versions back but are they capable of being used with 3D solids at all?
