Dec 12, 2010Since my main menu include only one movie, is it possible to skip the main menu, so the submenu with the selected chapters will become the only one menu?

May 27, 2013Using VS X5 - Just making up a menu for my dvd im burning. Haven made a menu since using ..VS11+ I think it was.
All seems very very familar...similar etc and not asking it to do anything out of the ordinary which 11+ couldnt cope with ( just nowadays using all this AVCHD malaky etc )
Question -Main menu of my dvd - Why am I getting on my main menu page the begininings of my movie!!! I have my main menu setup ( bringing in a pre-made 30second clip on which I will put 'Press Play to watch movie' and/or 'chapter select'. ) When i preview my main menu page...I see the 30second clip i wanted but as it runs so too does my actual movie - at the same time.
I cant seem to find a button to ..basically..tell it not to play the movie as soon as you load the dvd but instead to wait until the 30 second main menu runs and automatically reruns etc until YOU decide to press the 'Play movie' button.

Jun 15, 2013When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.

VideoStudio :: Pro X5 Skipping To End
Oct 13, 2013I cannot press space bar to play my video anymore while in editing. It shows on the screen the play button is pressed but nothing actually playes. And when I press the space bar again it shows it being paused. When I try to edit a segment. It also skips to the very end everytime I do this. I dont know why. Ive re-downloaded this once already and everything worked fine for about a day then it started doing the same thing again. I have tried looking up solutions and I cannot find anything about this matter.
How can I stop this skipping to the end? I cant even play my video. ONLY if I have something selected will it play. it will not play for example a text track and a video track together. It HAS to be selected in order to play.
It also will NOT let me save the video's anymore also? as in creating a video file.
VideoStudio :: Skipping Titles In DVD?
May 3, 2012I'm running VS11+ with all three patches/updates. I just made a beautiful Bluray HDV project with m2t files. However, I've noticed when making a DVD with SD clips, VS plays the first title, it skips the second title and goes to halfway in to the third as if nothing was wrong. The preview shows and plays the clips properly. It's only when making the final folders/image that it goofs. It doesn't matter what mpg I put into the second slot. It's always skipped. I've removed the second clip and saved then re-imported. It's always the same. I didn't see anything on a search about skipping titles. I'm fairly amazed it didn't work with SD. I've even popped them in 2 other authoring programs and they all work fine....just not VS11+.

Jan 15, 2012Used audacity to convert an mp3 selection to wav for use in my PRO 2X project and it plays perfectly as an audio clip. However, when I switch to "project" mode, it skips in several places. I've tried deleting it and starting over, but no luck.
Could I have messed something up during the audacity process? I've done it before and haven't had problems. I REALLY want to use this piece of music in my project.

Mar 11, 2013After creating a DVD or HD Blu-ray disc to watch on my HD TV the video skips after every transition effect while watching the DVD or HD Blu-ray disc on my tv's and computers. The videos do not skip when I upload them to the internet.

VideoStudio :: When Combining Clips Get A Sound Skipping?
Sep 22, 2012I bought VideoStudio x5 about 3 weeks ago, there has been a bit of a learning curve but I am starting to get what I want. I still cant figure out one problem. I am screen capturing with another program because well videostudios screen capture doesn't work that well. My program produces AVI's and I bring them into video studio and piece them together. When I piece videos together, it skips for some reason a second or 2 into the second track. I have tried converting to mp4, hdv 720p - 30p (for PC), AVCHD (1820x720 60P), "Same as first video clip" and they all do the same thing. VideoStudio :: Pro X4 - Video Is Jumping / Jerking And Skipping
Mar 17, 2012I'm a relative noob on Corel (I have Pro X4) and video editing in general. My primary concern is the video (avi file) is jumping when I drag portions of it into the timeline. It plays fine in the library, but when I drag it into the timeline the clip will jump/skip/jerk. Is there a way to correct this? Do I have to alter some settings? I have a decent (not amazing) Toshiba L650 4GB RAM laptop that is relatively new. Surely seeing as I'm only just adding the first clips in (there is already a 10 minute sound track in place) it shouldn't be jumping already should it?
My only other question for now is is the overlay track virtually the same as the video track? I prefer using the overlay track as I can drop videos anywhere on the video as opposed to it defaulting to the start. All I do is drag the corners out to make it the same size as what it would have been in the video track.
VideoStudio :: Unable To Edit Anything Without Audio Skipping Pro X3
Jul 25, 2011have been looking at various posts regarding audio skipping but am clueless as to how to repair or use this program successfully. I am able to import a simple mp2 file off a DVD (VOB), scan into scenes and usually play it in the timeline without skipping. I can play an mpg clip/scene, at least once, without skipping. Any kind of editing of any file results in skipping. Whether I save as a project or not, it skips. If I export, it skips. With or without Smart Proxy, it skips. With or without SP2 (after a clean reinstall) it skips. I have been editing for at least 7 years with various programs, but this is truly a first. I am really hesitant to upgrade to X4 as a fix, fully expecting it will be more of the same.
I want to clarify something. I listened very closely with a friend and concluded it is not exactly skipping. It is truncated repeating of a word in close succession, so you will hear a word immediately followed by the same word repeated but partly cut off.

I'm experiencing a problem on BOTH systems where the main menu is missing a row of pixels (see image below). Both systems are running Windows XP Pro SP3. I have Open GL disabled on both systems. The weird thing is the missing row of pixels comes and goes while I'm using the application. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

Apr 2, 2012Working in ACA 2012 on a Windows 7 machine. Noticed that pinning documents in the "Recent Documents" under the main menu is acting goofy. If I pin a document (so that it presumably stays there no matter what) and then open other drawings, the pinned drawing gets pushed down the list just like any other. Eventually, it gets pushed off the list just like all the others.
Is there a system variable I'm not aware of that controls this feature? Or is this just a bug, but since this feature is rarely used no one has noticed it?

Sep 25, 2012Everything is calibrated. That is not an issue.
When I work the photo (JPG, TIFF or PSD) to where it is what I want, the preview is darker in the print preview. Probably one f/stop in photo terms. And, THIS is how it actually prints.
What is causing that? And, is there a fix?
None of the "show paper color," etc. are checked, so that is not causing the difference.

Nvideo 8500GT video.
VideoStudio :: Overlay Transitions Affect Main Track
Jun 5, 2012I'm making a video slideshow for my friend's wedding and I'm trying to use some overlay pics in a couple segments but want the overlay track to dissolve with the main track and can't get it to work for some reason. Specifically I'm trying to make a remote control pop into the bride's hand (I'm using "Grow Old With You" for one of the songs and thought it would be cute during the "even let you hold the remote control" part). Anyway I went through the trouble of creating the remote control object etc. but even though I can drag a transition to the object it doesn't seem to affect it any. Instead it affects the main track.
Here's what happens specifically...I have dissolve applied to both the main track picture (the bride) and the remote control (overlay track)...and the dissolves are set to trigger at the same time. The bride starts to fade but the remote control stays solidly on the screen - and then something weird happens, the object transition effect seems to overwhelm the main transition for a second and the whole screen flicks black for a second and then abruptly goes on to the next slide. If I delete the object transition effect the abrupt black screen thing doesn't happen but the remote control obviously doesn't fade either, which makes the video seem very amateurish. I checked all the edit settings for both the main and overlay tracks and nothing seems to work with this. I can't believe a glitch like this could have existed for this long without Corel fixing it...Right?
VideoStudio :: Main Video Track - How To Insert Space Between Clips
Jul 6, 2011I'm using VS 11. Is there a way to insert gaps between clips on the main video track? I can do this when I move the clips to the overlay track, but I need the overlay track for actual overlays, so I don't want to do that for this project. I need gaps so I can put in narrative text between each clip.
Alternatively, is there a way to have multiple overlay tracks?

Oct 17, 2010If I have two cameras pointing toward one subject (say someone being interviewed) what would be the best way to place the two video tracks in X3?
One I would be the main video track, but would the other have to be the over lay track? Is there an option to create a 2nd main video track that I could switch between? So when I am editing an interview clip I could pick between video track 1 or 2 and choose the angle I want?

I cannot seem to be able to leave a gap on the main video track at all whether ripple is on or off. What do I do to leave a gap in the main video track (with the video at that point in the overlay)?
Also I noticed the Track Manager has a greyed drop down to add video tracks. Is there a higher priced version to have more video tracks as opposed to overlay tracks?
Illustrator :: Pantone (Find) Skipping
Sep 24, 2012I am having trouble with the "find" in the Pantone Color books. For example, I type in 654, but it automatically goes to 7654, so I have to highlight the text and delete the 7 in order for it to show 654. CS 5 didn't have this search issue, but its a problem with several of the colors that I have to use.

Right now I'm using the TBYB version but if I were to purchase I would like to be able to create and adding my own templates since there don't appear to be very many that come with the program, only a couple that I can see anyways.
I like the fact that I can burn video files and menus to disc within VS but the current selection of menus makes this feature mostly useless so I'm wondering how I could add more.
