View 1 RepliesIn a particular road project i need to show for all the cross sections, the coordinates (x,y) of the main points ( for example: daylight, etw and crown). I know that i can obtain it from reports->corridor but as far as i know, i must edit in excel and paste each PK info next to the correspondant cross section.
Is there a way more automatic raher than copy paste the report list?
The following is the problem: I have an assy with multiple different frames. If I make a parst list in the IDW all the frame members are shown seperatey, I just want to show only the frames in de parts list. I tried grouping, but when two assy's are the same that doesn't work any more.

How do I add custom menu items to the main menu in Illustrator?
I would like to build my own menu with scripts that I use alot. This is a powerful feature that I use alot in other programs, but I have not seen any examples of this in illustrator.
Using VS X5 - Just making up a menu for my dvd im burning. Haven made a menu since using ..VS11+ I think it was.
All seems very very familar...similar etc and not asking it to do anything out of the ordinary which 11+ couldnt cope with ( just nowadays using all this AVCHD malaky etc )
Question -Main menu of my dvd - Why am I getting on my main menu page the begininings of my movie!!! I have my main menu setup ( bringing in a pre-made 30second clip on which I will put 'Press Play to watch movie' and/or 'chapter select'. ) When i preview my main menu page...I see the 30second clip i wanted but as it runs so too does my actual movie - at the same time.
I cant seem to find a button to ..basically..tell it not to play the movie as soon as you load the dvd but instead to wait until the 30 second main menu runs and automatically reruns etc until YOU decide to press the 'Play movie' button.
When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBecause there is no way to tell the difference between minimize ("-") to close ("x") on palette set. I put a button on my user control to write my own code to close the Palette Set.
m_ps is the current PaletteSet, m_uc is my user control which has been loaded into m_ps.
what code I need to write inside my close button click event to unload m_uc , close m_ps and set both m_uc and m_ps to nothing?
Looking for the ilogic code to place in the drawing rule to close *.ipt file that was recently open.

On the main sheet of my drawing I have the overall Parts List. Shows almost all parts except for the few that we don't want to list. On the second sheet I inserted a Parts List to show only parts that are shown in a detail on that page, made the rest non-visible.
On the main sheet there is an item (#13) that has a QTY of 3. Two of those Three are optional parts. What I'm trying to do is insert a custom part into the Parts List, give it an item number of 13A and put in the description "OPTIONAL", then do an Override in the balloon to show 13A.
I get it in the Parts List, Apply it, close it, save the drawing. Looking at the Parts List, item #13A is there, but item #14 is gone. I go back into the Parts List and 13A is there and there's a blue box around the item # and the description. I uncheck Static Value and number 14 shows up (item # and the description).
Then I go over to sheet two, open that Parts List and it lists 13A at the bottom with all the info I added in sheet one and it's non-visible. Go back to sheet one, open the Parts List and there is no 13A to be found.
My parts list on my idw do not update when I make changes to the model. Specifically, I have deleted a bolted connection on my design and replaced with a different components but the parts list table does not update - all I see is a lightning bolt in the browser next to the parts list but I cannot update it here.

I was using virtual parts to add nuts and bolts to a drawing in 2013
I can make a VP bolt in the assembly, no problem, set it's size, weight, etc.
In the VP itself, there is no option for number of bolts I want it to emulate. For arguement's sake the weight was 1 pound per bolt (they are big bolts).
I can go into the BOM and say quantity 60, hit done and save the assembly.
If i open the drawing, the parts lists shows 60lbs for the 60 bolts total - which it should when summing the weight.
The problem is the BOM/assembly. If the weight of my assembly (without bolts) is 10,000lbs, the assembly sees the VP weighing 1lb and says the total weight is 10,001 lbs. Am i going to have to pattern a fake part to get this to work right? Shouldn't the total weight take into account the quantity set in the Bom??
Is there a way to display the density of materials that are assigned to varius parts in the parts list on a drawing? I don't need the mass of the parts I just need the material density to show up next to their respective parts.
For example, if I have a part with [steel mild] material assinged to it (no matter the size) I need a column in the BOM on the drawing to show: 490.684 lbs/ft^3. "Worry when there's something to worry about."
I have an assembly with a lot of purchased parts. I need to create a buy out list for purchasing. I've done this many times in the past and have a template set up for this purpose.
So now the problem, In this assembly, I have subassemblies showing up on my parts only parts list.
One of the subassemblies cinsists of two purchased parts. Both parts are set to purchased in the Bill of materials. If I do a parts only list on this assembly, it works as expected, showing two purchased parts. However, if I put that assembly into a higher level assembly, A parts only parts list shows the assembly instead of the individual parts.

Been working over an idw MANY times due to project lag.Today I opened it up and tried adding balloons to an already ballooned assembly.
The parts list has not changed, and is "structured".But, if I try adding balloons, they tag each part, not the entire assembly.
Also, I verified this by trying to add another parts list, which defaults to "parts only".
I can't show my data set, b/c it's HUGE, plus it's proprietary.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a .idw that I'm trying to make a parts list on. I select parts list and highlight everything. There are two screws that are not showing up on the parts list. I cannot select them manually either. It's acting like they are not there. Even if I do a complete parts list (adding the assemblies parts into one big list), they still don't show up.
How can I select these parts? What is wrong with them that they do not show up in the parts list?
Working in ACA 2012 on a Windows 7 machine. Noticed that pinning documents in the "Recent Documents" under the main menu is acting goofy. If I pin a document (so that it presumably stays there no matter what) and then open other drawings, the pinned drawing gets pushed down the list just like any other. Eventually, it gets pushed off the list just like all the others.
Is there a system variable I'm not aware of that controls this feature? Or is this just a bug, but since this feature is rarely used no one has noticed it?
Is there a way of getting a family tree of all the parts and sub-assemblies of a main assembly?
I would like this so I can keep track on what parts need drawings (manufactured parts) and if the drawing has been done.
I have a sub assembly that I am making a drawing of. The assembly drawing needs to also display the main assembly as a reference part (in phantom lines). The sub assembly is made up of flexible hoses that need their connection points referenced.
Inserting the main assembly into the drawing, so that I can see both the main assembly and the sub assembly together, messes up the parts list and balloons.
There must be a way to dislay the sub assembly in the main assembly and still have the part list and ballons reference the sub assembly?
i want clear list of main layers lines weights and colors for residential buildings? (we use stone out wall and normal blocks inside)
I try BS 1192 and ISO but they are misappointed me.
for ex they use
1-ext wall white .5
2- hatch blue .18 !! (not clear color and not light weight)
3- int. wall color: 9 weight: .25
I've got a machine designed that has a couple hundred parts - originally built as one main assembly (with a number of weldment subassmblies). The problem is that the BOM is too large to feasibly have on the drawing and still show assembly detail. I'm trying to avoid a multi-sheet configuration.
So I've grouped certain items and demoted into subassemblies. The problem is that all the subassemblies are attached to a main frame- and I'd like to show this frame in each of the subassemblies as a reference. Is there a way to add a "phantom" copy of the framework to each of the subassemblies to that it can be seen? (and the assembler can see how the subassembly is mounted on the frame) Otherwise all these parts are just floating in space on the subassembly (and constraints are lost on the subs).
I'd like to keep the frame on the top assembly, as it may be customized for future machines, while using the same subassemblies.

The weird thing is the missing row of pixels comes and goes while I'm using the application. Has anyone else noticed anything similar?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am mainly developing for AutoCAD 2013/2014 how to implement a custom property as a drop-down list using OPM and .NET/C# wrapper. I have successfully created categorized custom properties already and can read/save them in XRecords via the OPM. I further implemented the members for IDynamicEnumProperty (using an ObjectARX DLL) in .NET/C# which are:
// ENUM-PROPERTY INTERFACE METHODS DEFINITIONenum myEnum{ steel = 0, copper, wood};public void GetNumPropertyValues( int numValues ){ numValues = 3;}public void GetPropValueName( int index, out String valueName ){ valueName = Enum.GetName(typeof(myEnum), index);}public void GetPropValueData( int index, ref Object valueName ){ valueName = index;}
And I have implemented the GetCurrentValueData() and SetCurrentValueData() members in my .NET/C# wrapper as per the IDynamicProperty2 interface as following:
public void GetCurrentValueData( Object pUnk, ref Object varData ) {AcadObject obj = pUnk as AcadObject; if ( obj != null ){using ( Active .Document.LockDocument( DocumentLockMode.ProtectedAutoWrite, null, null, true ) ){using ( var tr = Active.Transaction ){ObjectId ObjId = new ObjectId( (IntPtr) obj.ObjectID ); DBObject DbObj = tr.GetObject( ObjId, OpenMode.ForRead ); if ( DbObj != null ){try {if (
[code]....
This code compiles without error but instead of the expected drop-down list the OPM only shows a field where I can enter or edit integer numbers, but there is no drop-down list when clicking on the field....
Is there a way to modify the DEFAULT SCALE LIST to show a metric scale list in an imperial template? I mean, I start a drawing using the imperial template, but i want to use the standard metric scales on paper space. on previous versions the scale list shown both imperial & metric. Now it depends of what the template is using.
