VideoStudio :: Pro X5 Skipping To End

I cannot press space bar to play my video anymore while in editing. It shows on the screen the play button is pressed but nothing actually playes. And when I press the space bar again it shows it being paused. When I try to edit a segment. It also skips to the very end everytime I do this. I dont know why. Ive re-downloaded this once already and everything worked fine for about a day then it started doing the same thing again. I have tried looking up solutions and I cannot find anything about this matter.
How can I stop this skipping to the end? I cant even play my video. ONLY if I have something selected will it play. it will not play for example a text track and a video track together. It HAS to be selected in order to play.
It also will NOT let me save the video's anymore also? as in creating a video file.

I'm running VS11+ with all three patches/updates. I just made a beautiful Bluray HDV project with m2t files. However, I've noticed when making a DVD with SD clips, VS plays the first title, it skips the second title and goes to halfway in to the third as if nothing was wrong. The preview shows and plays the clips properly. It's only when making the final folders/image that it goofs. It doesn't matter what mpg I put into the second slot. It's always skipped. I've removed the second clip and saved then re-imported. It's always the same. I didn't see anything on a search about skipping titles. I'm fairly amazed it didn't work with SD. I've even popped them in 2 other authoring programs and they all work fine....just not VS11+.

Since my main menu include only one movie, is it possible to skip the main menu, so the submenu with the selected chapters will become the only one menu?

Used audacity to convert an mp3 selection to wav for use in my PRO 2X project and it plays perfectly as an audio clip. However, when I switch to "project" mode, it skips in several places. I've tried deleting it and starting over, but no luck.
Could I have messed something up during the audacity process? I've done it before and haven't had problems. I REALLY want to use this piece of music in my project.

After creating a DVD or HD Blu-ray disc to watch on my HD TV the video skips after every transition effect while watching the DVD or HD Blu-ray disc on my tv's and computers. The videos do not skip when I upload them to the internet.
I'm using external USB 2 hdd and USB 3hdd
VS ProX5 and VS12

I bought VideoStudio x5 about 3 weeks ago, there has been a bit of a learning curve but I am starting to get what I want. I still cant figure out one problem. I am screen capturing with another program because well videostudios screen capture doesn't work that well. My program produces AVI's and I bring them into video studio and piece them together. When I piece videos together, it skips for some reason a second or 2 into the second track. I have tried converting to mp4, hdv 720p - 30p (for PC), AVCHD (1820x720 60P), "Same as first video clip" and they all do the same thing. I'm a relative noob on Corel (I have Pro X4) and video editing in general. My primary concern is the video (avi file) is jumping when I drag portions of it into the timeline. It plays fine in the library, but when I drag it into the timeline the clip will jump/skip/jerk. Is there a way to correct this? Do I have to alter some settings? I have a decent (not amazing) Toshiba L650 4GB RAM laptop that is relatively new. Surely seeing as I'm only just adding the first clips in (there is already a 10 minute sound track in place) it shouldn't be jumping already should it?
My only other question for now is is the overlay track virtually the same as the video track? I prefer using the overlay track as I can drop videos anywhere on the video as opposed to it defaulting to the start. All I do is drag the corners out to make it the same size as what it would have been in the video track.

have been looking at various posts regarding audio skipping but am clueless as to how to repair or use this program successfully. I am able to import a simple mp2 file off a DVD (VOB), scan into scenes and usually play it in the timeline without skipping. I can play an mpg clip/scene, at least once, without skipping. Any kind of editing of any file results in skipping. Whether I save as a project or not, it skips. If I export, it skips. With or without Smart Proxy, it skips. With or without SP2 (after a clean reinstall) it skips. I have been editing for at least 7 years with various programs, but this is truly a first. I am really hesitant to upgrade to X4 as a fix, fully expecting it will be more of the same.
I want to clarify something. I listened very closely with a friend and concluded it is not exactly skipping. It is truncated repeating of a word in close succession, so you will hear a word immediately followed by the same word repeated but partly cut off.

I am having trouble with the "find" in the Pantone Color books. For example, I type in 654, but it automatically goes to 7654, so I have to highlight the text and delete the 7 in order for it to show 654. CS 5 didn't have this search issue, but its a problem with several of the colors that I have to use.

While labeling Multiple segments (or even single segments) only the LINE labels skip numbers if separated by a CURVE. The CURVES go sequentially but not the LINES.

When I initiate the trim command with a double enter (i.e. select all mode), I usually first zoom into the area I want to trim so I see no other objects, then start the trim <Enter><Enter> option, then pick the lines I want to trim. Even if these extend off the screen and cross other objects (not seen on the screen), they usually trim off completely. However, on occassion they don't. To replicate the problem try this:
Draw 2 vertical lines and 2 horizontal intersecting (like noughts and crosses)Draw a horizontal line that intersects both vertical lines but up near the top of those linesZoom in so you only see the square and extending lines (but not the short horizontal line)Trim <Enter> <Enter> and pick from bottom right to top left (i.e. around the squareZoom out.
The square is trimmed, however there are 2 line fragments left above the horizontal short line.
Fix: UndoTrim the same way and presto, it now works I found if I then moved the line above (so only a small amount), zoomed in again, tried to trim - same error.

See attachments. See the green linework in each plan that is skipping across the corridor. These are two different projects. I have seen this numerous times but have not found a solution or even what is causing the problem.

We recently upgraded to Autocad Architecture 2013 and the trim command is driving me mental. Lets say I have a window mullion pattern with 4 intersecting lines and I want to trim out the center. (see attached example) I start the trim command, then right to left window to select the 4 lines, then use another right to left selection window to trim out the lines. It always leaves on of the lines leaving me to have to click one more time. This is a huge pain when you have to do this multiple times. That is a lot of extra clicks. What gives? I never had this issue before.

I have been using smoke for about 2 weeks now and I keep having audio glitching and skipping on my timeline as well as when I try to export my project to proresHQ. I am working with proresHQ media and a mp3 music track. Sometimes I can restart smoke and it will go away for a while but it always seems to come back and at random places and always shows up when I export. I am unable to export any projects do to this

I have VSX5 Ultimate perfectly runnng on my Vista desktop and on my W7 32bit laptop. I am now setting up a new 64bit W7 desktop PC. I installed VSX5 Ultimate on it, but strange enough, it all seems OK but there is no QT (.mov) file export selection available anymore. Not in the batch converter output formats list, nor on the custum video file sharing list. Am I missing something? I already intalled the latest Quictime version.

Sometime ago I almost filled a standard DVD with jpeg images as a slideshow created in VS 11+.I am now wondering if I can transfer the slideshow to a usb stick.If this is possible, what is the best way.I want to be able to display the slideshow on a laptop,digital photo frame and or TV which have usb connections.

I recently bought CVS X4 and new hardware to my computer (i5 2500k @4.2GHz, 8GB ram, SSD hard drive, 2x2xRAID etc).
I was suprised to see that when I'am trying to render a HD (1920x1080) file with no compression its taking A LOT of time and not so much of my computer powers;) CPU use is around 5% on all cores when I'am rendering the movie:/ I feel like it should be faster and use more CPU:< how to speed it up?:)

how VS handles files recorded at 30fps when the settings and final product will be PAL. Some smaller / cheaper cameras only offer 30 fps. Does this make VS work harder?

I am puzzled about creating a BD disc (folder) from HDV video and selecting MPEG2 and1440x1080. My problem is that although X3 allows this selection, the Bly-ray specification only allows 1440x1080 with AVCH264 and VC!, not with MPEG2. ([URL].....) So I think the anamorphic HDV footage gets converted to 1920x1080 before it is being embedded into a BD format.

I made some changes to my video- including shortening one clip by about half.
I even saved the vsp file under a different name, closed VS and re-opened it.
And when I create a DVD, the changes are not on the DVD- it's including the entire clip that I cut in half, instead of just what is left in VS.

I have been using video studio with no problems adding title tracks before the video clips. Now for some reason I can't make the video clips run after the title but the first one runs at the same time with the title overlayed. I guess I could shoot some black video to add as the first clip but it was working before.

I sometimes use the "Video Pan and Zoom" feature in VS ProX4 to pan horizontally. I also want to be able to pan vertically. Is there a way of doing this in VSPro 4? If not, do the more recent Pro 5 and 6 programs allow this?

I have been using VS since version VS5 and lately VS X2. Now I have upgraded to VS X4 Pro, the box version.
The installation went well and am just performing some tests. I was curious in the new facility with converting 2D to 3D.
I followed the manual and tried with one clip and went to the Share step where I selected Create videofile, selected 3D and DVD as well as AVCHD. My clip was in full HD. I went to the Options menu where I ticked 3D Simulator and Anaglyph.
The result after rendering however was only a white screen but with the sound from the clip. When rendering the same clip to DVD or AVCHD in the "normal way" everything was OK.

I made a DVD video in the default (I live in Canada) NTSC format using VSP X4. However I would like to make the same Video DVD in PAL format, to send to relatives in Europe. In "Share" mode, when I click on "Settings and Options" then "Disk Template Manager" I can see templates for NTSC and choosing PAL I see templates for PAL. Next when I go to "Projects Settings" the setting is in NTSC and clicking "Change MPEG Settings" only the NTSC templates show up. When I choose "Custom Settings" I can not change to PAL as the drop down menu for choosing is inactive.

I have a video file imported from VOB format. The properties of the video file tells me that its a 4:3 format, VIDEO PAL And when I show it in the preview screen of my Video Studio X3 Pro it shows as a 4:3
How can it be converted into 16:9 ?

When I select Create Video File > WMV > WMV HD 1080 30p the resulting file is 1440x1080!
Why does it do that? Is that really what most people think of when they see "1080"?
How do I do a standard 1920x1080 WMV with Video Studio Pro X6?

I have been using VideoStudio for quit some time but always just made files and never tried to make discs from the program.
I read through the manual this morning and started out.
Under Share, I went to create disc DVD and successfully loaded my VSP file as I wanted. The instructions were to go to click next for preview and after previewing click next again for the burn step. There is no "next" button in the preview step, only a back button. And when I go back there is nothing that says go to the burn step, only "next" so I am stuck in a loop.

I've assembled 25 titles on DVD and noticed all of them are way too loud compared to my normal tv volume. My computer volume is way down, too, so I'm wondering how to turn down the volume on the whole DVD.
