AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Curve Labels Skipping Number?
Feb 22, 2010I am adding curve label numbers to a parking lot to create a table with the curve delta/radius. My problem is that #9 is being skipped. Its going right from 8 to 10.

May 3, 2013I think it is normal to want a style showing stationing, speed design stattions, etc.But.... Radii of curves ? Clothoid parameters ?
Why is the reason Autodesk developers think that designers dont want to see this information instead of "add labels, aligments, multiple segments,. etc ....
(aligment by aligment ...... of a whole project ?

Oct 4, 2012While labeling Multiple segments (or even single segments) only the LINE labels skip numbers if separated by a CURVE. The CURVES go sequentially but not the LINES.

Apr 8, 2012I am having a lot of problems with my vertical curve labels. I created a style that shows the length of the vertical curve, the k-value, the end and start elevations, and the elevation and station of the PVI, as shown. My problems are the fact that when I want to flip a label, they all flip (shown in the second picture). I also have noticed that there is only one drag point. Is this a setting that I unknowingly edited, or is it possible to flip labels individually?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Line And Curve Labels And Tables
Jun 22, 2012I am doing a project and I have a lot of feature lines. I will need to be able to lable these feature lines with tags and then create tables for those. My question is, is there an easy format that I can do that will lable these lines in an order I set it up? Right now it just lables all over the place. The lines are counting the curves too. For example: L1 L2 L3 C1 L5 L6 C2 L8. I can make it work, would just think there is a better way. BTW I am using Civil 3D 2011.

Jan 11, 2013I just created a profile by choosing my PVIs and linking them together with tangent curves. How do I add labels to show the vertical curve properties (K value, curve length, station of PVI, elevation of PVI...)? I'm guessing I have to edit the label style?

I have discovered that the points from it is created are fixed in Z value.
You can use the grips with object snap , you can move the grips but the Z values are preserved......
it should be to get the Z value of X,Y,Z given by object snap , isn't it ?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Rotate Line And Curve Labels
Sep 17, 2010We would like to be able to rotate line and curve labels in Civil 3D 2010.
Some of our drawings get really crowded and we need to slightly rotate the line or curve labels. This is fine with regular autocad text, but how can we accomplish this with styles and dynamic line/curve labels? I can't seem to find a way to do this with the grips and setting up new styles with specified rotations isn't an option because we need to be able to fine tune and eyeball the rotation of the label to make it look right.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Vertical Curve Adjustments In Profile Labels?
May 7, 2013On our road profiles, we have to show that low points and high points are adjusted to maintain a minimum of 0.6%. see attached screen shot. Currently, I am calculating the adjusted low point and editing the profile label. Since I can't figure out how to edit one label in a data band, I've been wiping out the old elevation and typing in the new elevation over it.
Is there a way to get C3D to do the calculation for me and populate the labels with the adjusted elevation?

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Profile Vertical Curve Labels Shift Down When Publishing?
Jul 3, 2013I have a large scale industrial project with multiple road profiles and sections sheets. I find that when I plot my drawings manually by opening the drawing everything comes out fine. But when I publish the drawings manually or thru Sheet Set Manager, it shifts my vertical curve labels on my profiles down, which then conflicts with the profile linework (see attached image). Unfortunately manually plotting these drawings is not an option. Because of the amount of information in each drawing it takes 3-4 mins to open and we have 200+ drawings in a single set of drawings, which we have multiple sets of drawings for the project.

Oct 17, 2013How to sort curve table data by parcel and then curve length? Out here in Oregon, one of the standard ways of defining a curve table is to show the length of curve and have each curve in the parcel grouped together.
I have not figured out a way to do this in C3D. At one point, Sinc had started working on the issue for us, but I don't think he ever got anywhere with it (or at least it didn't get into his add on.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Error 607 / Inlet A9 Gutter Capture Curve Is Not A Valid Curve
Dec 31, 2013I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow.Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
Illustrator :: Identical Engravings - Increment Labels (Serial Number)?
Feb 19, 2011We'll be getting a laser engraver, and have been considering Illustrator to format the designs. Some of our engravings will include serial numbers. So I was wondering (having never used Illustrator) if I could create a file containg, say 10 identical engravings - except for an automatically incrementing serial number (I would set the first serial number, and the 9 others would follow). The 10 engravings would be applied to 10 similar parts simultaneously.

Sep 12, 2012I am trying to label my drawing (bearings and distances) and am having a bit of trouble. . First, the precision isn't right. I keep trying to set the precision but whenever I add a parcel label it comes up with the wrong precision. Also, I can't get the scale of the labels right. They are too big and I can't seem to size them down any smaller.

Sep 20, 2011When generating a line of contour labels with Contour-Multiple, most of the labels are orientated properly but some of them on the line are rotated 180 degrees. Why aren't they ALL orientated in the same direction?
Also, sometimes, all of them will be orientated in the wrong direction such that they are, essentially, upside down. Is this a bug or is there a setting to adjust?

Jan 12, 2013I am trying to create a label for slope ratios. I want to have the label show only whole numbers if it is a whole number and go to the 10th place only when necessary. Is there a way to use the label editor to do this? I would think it would work something like
IF(<General Segment Grade>=0|1|2|3|4|5|6|7|8|9 then <[General Segment Grade(FRun|P0|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]> else <[General Segment Grade(FRun|P1|RN|AP|GC|UN|SD|OF)]>)
but I'm not even sure I'm going in the right direction.

Jun 4, 2013I opened a project that i had not been into for a month and for some reason the surface and labels will not rebuild automatically anymore. Surface is set to rebuild automatic and i've gone in and changed the regenauto from on to off to on again, also rebooted the computer with no luck. I have a combination of feature lines and points. If I edit the elevations along the feature line the contours do not rebuild and the label does not change either. If I hover over the elevation node in the feature line it will show the new elevation but the elevation label for that point does not reflect the change, neither do the contours. If it is a point and I change it with the panorama window, the elevation tag will change but the contours do not rebuild until I tell it to rebuild. Any slope labels going to that point do not update with it though.

Oct 17, 2012I worked this out with C3D back in the day but for some reason I can't figure out how to renumber line tag label designations. What's making it tougher is that I need to create the tags in a block and try to create the line table OUTSIDE the block (this is so that I can have the block rotated to a deed bearing with dynamic labels in the block while retaining it's true orientation from state plane coordinates in model space). I have an old lisp file CLEARTAGS.lsp but this is not working. Perhaps this was made for 2010 or earlier. When I save the block, it jumps all the tag numbering way up for some reason.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Labels Not Next To Markers?
Aug 15, 2013I seem to have a random, we'll say error for lack of a better term. I have a set of Point Styles with a Description Key set up for our survey points. When I import the points from a csv, I have 9 points that do not come in with the labels in the right spot. The label is supposed to sit next to the point style (see included image) Instead they sit 1 unit away. If you look at the included image you will see a point called COMH that is inserted correctly. Right above it is a point called WTMH that has the label coming in far to the right of the point style. Both the COMH and the WTMH have the same settings in the description key, and other than the block for the point, the same settings in the Point Style. I have completey re-written the description key, as well as re-created all the point styles, but this keeps happening. I have even re-created the block drawing and redefined the block in the dwt as well as an existing drawing.
P.S. I have added an image of the description key coding as well as the point style for the COMH andthe WTMH.

Issue You were unable to create contour labels. When you tried to create a single contour label, you could not select any of the contour lines of a surface. When you tried to create multiple contour labels, the contour label line disappeared after you selected the second point.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Parcel Labels In Layouts
Apr 4, 2013On a road project I have an acquisition parcel that is matched across 2 viewports on one layout. I would usually slide the parcel label so it's only visible on one layout. Then I'd add a second label that would be visible on the second layout.
This line happens to cross the viewport near the end. If I add a label in the lower viewport that looks reasonable. It will overlap in to the upper viewport. I can drag the label to very near the end of the line but it doesn't look right there. I don't think it's good procedure to try and force one parcel label on to it's own layer so it can be frozen in that one viewport.
Any technique for handling this situation?
