VideoStudio :: X4 - Render Or Burn 3D Video File Onto BD Disc?
Dec 30, 2011
(1) whether VS Pro X4 will support the 3D video clip taken from Panasonic HDC-SDT750 3D capable camcorder?
(2) If it is supported by VS Pro X4, how do you render or burn the 3D video file onto BD disc so that it would be recognised as a 3D video format disc and playable in a 3D Blu-ray player?

I just downloaded/installed Video Studio X4 Pro. Quite impressive. I've been using Roxio but too many problems so wanted to see if Corel is better. Have a minor problem that I haven't been able to solve. Background: I have 16 individual videos of foreign "soap operas" (all approx 3.7gb). All videos are either mpeg2 or avi. I copied all of them with no problem. Then, I wanted to eliminate some useless things at the beginning and end of each one. I went into a video editing program and trimmed approx 5 secs from the beginning and end of each video. After the trimming, I saved the videos to my hard drive in the My Videos folder in the Libraries. Then, because of some difficulties with Roxio, I decided to try Corel.
When I import a video, click on Tools, Create Disc, DVD, unmark Menu, then Burn, I always get the error telling me the total size is larger than the chosen project. This is what I don't understand. If the video, which is approx. 3.7gb,and I'm using a 4.7gb dvd, why am I getting this error? FYI: I went ahead and clicked on Yes, try to fit to disc, and after approximately 45 mins, it completed, ejected the disc and all I had was approx. 1/8" burn area. The properties of that disc showed it was a video.ts and when I clicked on it, the windows player opened and said can't be rendered. I don't under stand why X$ Pro says a 3.7gb video is over 7gb.

I'm using the free trial version of Videostudio X5 and have 3 video files I am trying to burn to a BD-R disk. The files are H.264 and when I preview it before burning, the menu I created works fine. One of the three files is large, over 9gb. When I burn the disk, the large video file is not burning correctly. When I go into that file from the menu, it just loops back to the first menu item. I tried burning just the large file to a BD-R and it worked fine. The total project size is around 17 gb so I'm under the 25 gb limit. I think the next thing I'll try is breaking the large video file into two files. I'd like to buy the software if I can get past this glitch.

I couldn't create DVD disk, or, couldn't create video file either. It would go to about 99% & then hang the system for hours (until stopped with Task Manager).
I had installed all of the updates, including SP2. I've uninstalled today & I will re-install in the next day or so to see if it works.

I have created disc images of some projects. The 'share' option allows for making disc images but I can't see how to burn a disc from the image using VS X4.....the 'create disc' section does not seem to accept an image for burning.

I have rendered the AVCHD video files (Full HD video) in Video Studio Ultimate X5, and under the "Share | Create Disc" option I created the files to Folder instead of burning directly to Disc as I wanted to save the "Folder" for future Blu-Ray disc burning if needed.
The question is, after the files are created in Folder what is the proper procedure to burn the "Folder" onto a Blu-Ray disc so that the disc will be playable in a Blu-Ray player?

How do you burn a movie to a dvd disc? I created my movie, then clicked share tab. DVD factory 2010 opened up and I created my menu. After 3 hours of converting file the burn said failed with no explaination. So I then made a file of the movie. Opened vs3 again and tried to burn the saved file which was an mpg format to disc. The program doesn't recognize mpg files only vsp files. The program made the mpg file. So how do I burn the mpg file to disc?

Error message:
"Failed to open MPEG encoder".
I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 11+ and when I try to render a completed video to a file I receive this error message. The video is a little large, one hour fourteen minutes, so I cut it in half, saving it under a different name and it still gave me the same error message. However, if I render a very small clip then it renders as it's suppose to.
I've never had this trouble before. I reloaded the software for 11+ but that didn't work.

I downloaded yesterday the trial version of Corel X5 pro. The program looks great and I made a photo and videocompilation of 8 minutes with background music and slides. Here's the problem. When I want to burn DVD, the program starts, but after 10 minutes i see 99% on the 2nd level and the program jams. It happens everytime when I want to burn of make a video on my harddisk. I am seriously looking for a decent program where i can make nice photo and video slides, but Corel doesn't useful. I have Windows 7 Ultimate and my burner works fine. Only with Corel, like i written before it jams and then i have to quit the program.

If my video project is to big to fit on a 4.7G disc and X4 prompt to fit it in the burn to ISO or Video TS stage, the end result have 1 or more video clips converted to heavily low quality, approximately a bit more than 3000 bit rate, but not all the video clips are converted. The end result is that some video clips have grainy scenes with some artifacts on the TV.
Since it is very time consuming to batch convert all the videos of the project to a lower bit rate in order to fit it on a 4.7G disc (choosing one bit rate specification, see if all videos plus menus fit, choose another lower bit rate and start batch converting again if not...), I decided to use the 8.5G option of X4 with the original quality formerly rendered videos and finish the dvd building in that way. After that I choose DVD Shrink 3.2 to compress it on 4.7G. DVD Shrink successfully compress a 5.2G project DVD to 4.7G (actually 4.4G) with a 95% compression rate with a sharp function. The overall end result's playback quality was far more better than when using batch convert to a lower bit rate with X4. Just want to mention that X2 handled such a compress to fit request better.
The last time I've needed to go the DVD Shrink way for compressing large DVD sizes were in the days of VS 11. By mentioning VS11, that was also the time when I got several crashes with DVD authorizing. I remember I had to set VS 11 to convert all DVD compliant MPEG again to have a smooth playback without Video/Audio multiplexing problems.I always use formerly rendered MPEG2 files. I never use the edited project to author a DVD.

I am burning DVDs from an hour long project file in ProX5, of a two act opera. Act I burned fine, but Act II which is a separate project comes out on the DVD with the audio ahead of the video. I am making coasters, have quite a collection. I've never had this problem before with burning DVDs. I have burn speed set to 16x, not maximum. In the past I normally use the project rendered to a movie for the DVD burn, but with editing changes I keep making, it is faster to just burn directly from the project.
I am not using a separate audio file. The audio is embedded in the video. When I play the project and not the DVD, the audio and video are fine.

I have been copying a number of pre-recorded video clips onto a DVD-R disc and playing them on my DVD recorder. As my Panasonic DMR-XW380 DVD recorder only plays DivX or XviD video files I have to convert the files I have to this format.
We have a Sony Bravia 40" TV and I was wondering about the best settings I should use for the Frame Resolution and bitrate etc. When I render anything to DivX with VS I use a Frame Resolution of 720 x 576 and a bitrate of 56kbps and this seems to play okay in my setup. Do you think these settings could be improved?

I have an old video on cassette that I'm trying to capture to my computer to burn to dvd. It's fine on my t.v. being played in my vhs player. When I connect it to my computer using the program Video Studio Pro X5, I can capture, and everything is functioning fine, but the tracking is off in the preview section. I've captured, and played it back, and it captures like the preview. It's got the wave at the top, and a tiny bit of it on the bottom. How to adjust the tracking, like on old t.v.'s so that the picture is centered?

I've looked everywhere online for tutorials but still don't understand how to do it. I keep getting 29.97fps in the end. I need it for a project and I need it very soon.I use MP4 video files at 60fps.

Why I cannot render a frame-based video when selecting (Share/Custom/MPEG Transport-stream)? My goal is to create an AVCHD video and burn it to a DVD (4.7G). My video is 16min long and the calculated bitrate is around CBR 15,000 kbps. If I use the (Share/ADVCHD/1920) option, I don't have any control over the settings. I have already deinterlaced my video using Neoscene. That is why I want to create a frame-based video.
Below is my workflow.
Two video sources:
.mov(1080p) from ContourHD 1080p camea
.mts(1080i) from Canon Vixia HF S100
1. Trim .mts files in CSV PX3
2. Trim .mov files in Contour S/W
3. Convert trimmed clips to .avi with Cineform Neoscene
4. Edit in CSV PX3
5. Planned to render in AVCHD, 1920x1080p, 29.97 fps, 15000 kbps

I have been using X5 for almost a year and everything seems find until lately when I up graded my system to window 8.1. I have assemble a 40 min video but when I tried to use 'share' to output to MP4 iphone/ipad HD,the rendering go halfway then the VideoStudio crashed with an error 'The program has encountered an unspecified error' and a DMP file and ask me to contact Corel support. My project only has 1 video tack, 1 voice track and 1 music track and the project file is 17,426 KB. If I disable the voice track, then the project can render successfully. Since the voice track is recorded using VideoStudio voice over with WAV format, I went back and convert all voice into mp3 to smaller size but still crash when render halfway. My system should have enough resources to process this 40 min video.
Window 8.1 pro 64x
16GB ram
CPU i7
Hard drive 2T.
I have assemble 40 min video with heavy voice before in XP and it render without any problem. Is there are issues between VideoStudio and window 8.1 64x ? Is there a limit to VS project size, or voice track size ? I read some of the posts and you recommend to manfully uninstall the software and reinstall the software. I am reluctant to do this, not at least after I can output my project to mp4, because it might wipe out my setting, templates, libraries, and even my project file. Do you know of any tool so I can read the DMP file ? I don't understand what good to have a DMP file when my software have passed the 30 day or 1 time support warranty?
It has been very frustrate to spend all this time to assemble a video and at the end cannot produce a sharable version. I was about to upgrade to X6 but now I have to think twice if this issue is not resolved. What good are all thees fancy new features in X6 to me if I cannot produce a sharable version of my project ?

I'm using VS x5.
Basically, I have a Sanyo HD camera which I've used to capture quite a bit of holiday footage. I've edited some together but when I output the project to either mp4 or mts the picture is choppy when panning.
The camera was set to 1080p @ 30fps (there's no option of 25fps even though the camera was bought here in the UK) which I have matched by choosing the "Custom" option when creating the movie. I've matched the bitrate (16789bps on the source) but this ends up being 15540bps on the output file. (??) According to the properties on the source file it's 29.97fps which I have also matched in the Custom settings option.
I understand I should expect dropped frames if I was trying to output the file as PAL compliant, but I've got VS set to NTSC so I don't think this is an issue.
The source file is mp4 and looks fine when viewing the panning scenes.

Given that it seems to be a good idea to render VSP projects to a single video file before attempting to create a DVD through Share Create Disc, I am wondering what is the most optimal type of video file to initially render the VSP into.
The video from my camera comes in a ACVHD 1080/60i. My target final disc is either 1) standard DVD, or 2) Blu Ray. I have been rendering the VSP into a 1920x1080 AVCHD format.

I'm trying to render MTS clips into an AVI video
Project Properties -
NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 480, 16:9, 29.97 fps
Lower Field First
DV Video Encoder -- type 1
DV Audio -- NTSC, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo.
When the rendering completes, a "Catastrophic Failure" error code comes up. When I try to play the video in VLF, I get the following message
"AVI Index
This AVI file is broken. Seeking will not work correctly."
If I press "don't repair", the file plays, but the indexing bar does not run along the bottom of the player. Obviously something is wrong, but I can't seem to work it out.
The input files are as follows:
Video Type: H.264 video, upper field first
Attributes: 24 bit, 1920x1080, 16:9
Frame rate: 29.970
Data rate: variable, 16,800 kbps max
Audio type: Dolby digital
Attributes: 48000 hertz
Layer: none
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, with no luck.

I am successfully creating a DVD using the Create Disc (DVD) option under the Share menu. I am adding multiple Project files that I have created (.VSP) files to it. Once it is all set up, I select Burning Options add Copyright Information and then I have also clicked on the add Project File to the disc option. However once the disc is created, I cannot find the Project File (.VSP) on the disc.
I am using VideoStudio Pro X4 with all the patches to SP3 installed. PAL system, and I am not receiving any errors.
Am I missing something simple? Does the Project File added to the disc not use the same file extension?
