I am a Video studio PROx4 user. Recently, I had some old 8mm films transferred to video and now I'm editing them in Videostudio prox4.
I have a few clips where I want to add sound; HOwever, when I drag the sound clip to the Voice track or the music track, the clip remains silent. The original clip seems to have a audio track already. I can split the audio and the delete the track from the voice track, and then unmute it and re-submit the music track I want to use but it somehow doesn't do the trick.
Running Ulead Video studio 10 Plus and have used it well for the last few years, on Windows Vista Home ed. Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.
Using X5 Ultimate Using the Edit function tab, and with several clips in the timeline, selecting one, then choosing clip mode and playing the clip in the view panel happily provides the clip embedded sound too. But occasionally, it doesn't. Generally after doing something related, eg today, I was recording a voiceover file to go with a clip, and when finished I just played the clip in clip mode - and just got images, but not the sound which is embedded in the clip (don't expect to hear the voiceover in that configuration). When it happens, I can get the sound embedded in the clip back by:
- choosing project mode, then playing the clip section; or
- changing the function tab to share, then back to edit, and then playing the clip; or
- saving the project file, closing X5 and then reopening both X5 and the same project file, and playing the clip.
Like, the control(s) that manage clip sound in the clip mode, play, seem to get "lost" during some edit functions and require a serious elbow jog to get back together.
Is there a control setting that prevents it happening in the first place?
The movie clips in my "project" are not playing the audio. Yes, volume is on and I have ensured that the volume is all the way up and that the "mute" option has not been selected. Screen cap is attached of the video tab.
When I click on the individual "clip" the sound works no problem. The other audio files are also working no problem.
I should mention that the original file was an IFO file from a Sony Handicam that I converted to AVI which I dragged into the program.
Is it by design that I cannot hear sound from videoclips played in "clip" mode when the volume is set to 100% ? I can hear the sound OK when the volume is changed to anything other than 100%, like 101% or 99%. By the way I can hear the sound OK when played in Project mode at 100%, just not in clip mode at 100%. This is very annoying as I need to change the volume of each clip to hear it. Product is VS-X5 digital purchase. video clips are from Leica Dlux-5 foto camera, which is basically a panasonic inside (avcdh lite 720p)
In edit, when I select Clip and play a clip on an overlay track, there's no sound. Yes, I can first click on the sound mixer and then it plays but what a waste of time. Project will play but then I have to isolate the clip. How do I get sound playing under Clip when the segment is in one of the overlay tracks?
I used many clips capture from a Sony HD Camorder. Everything's working fine in Video Studio when I do a preview of my project.
My problem is with the exported file ; on some clip, when the clip begin the sound is muted for about 7-8 seconds, After that, the sound come back. I tried to slip the sound from the clip, remove the transition, nothing work.
I updated all the drivers...I tried on an other computer...still the problem.

Using X5 pro, a project comprising an introduction and 6 clips was created, with menu. Each clip has its own sound (voice and music). The rendering config included 2 pass conversion and normalise sound checked, for creation of a disk image on an HDD folder. The preview worked fine - vision and sound OK. Because there were multiple disks to be made, the image creation also worked fine, as did the burn disk from iso.
But when the resulting disk was played back after burning, the first clip on it had no sound. Imagery fine, just no sound. It wasn't an isolated case. A repeat try - with particular care to check this aspect, ie sound on the clip, was OK during preview - got the same result in the final disk.
I added subtitles to the video...but then there were a few seconds without sound (sound is fine before adding subtitles) all along the video sometimes.
I have a project which is a party with background burble. I cut to a mute cutaway shot of the mountains outside the window, then back into the party. I want the background burble to run right through. How can I strip some sound off a combined video clip and lay it under the mute outdoor shot?Used to do this quite easily in 16mm.
I am using VS Pro X4 for quite some time. All of a sudden today, I was not able to "add a title" to a clip. It was working fine yesterday. Whenever I clicked "T" for "add a title to a clip", it switches from "Clip" to "Project" and although the "Double click here to add a title" was shown obviously nothing happened because it was in "Project" view.
After Brian told me that it always go from Clip to Project when clicking "T" or double clicking the Title track, that seems to be normal.. After using VS since VS 9, I have not noticed that before (if something works one usually does not notice anything...).
After re-installing VS Pro X4, per instructions in corel.force.com "How to remove X4 manually", and reinstall it, I am still not able to add text to the clip. Clicking "T" or double clicking the Title track still gave me the "Double click here to add title " notice in the preview window, but nothing happened upon double clicking the Preview window.
Out of curiosity I also ran VS X2 ,that is also in my computer, and with X2 the same problem exists --> no text can be added to a clip.
Back to VS Pro X4, however, I am able to drag a VS pre-set Title clip (Lorem Ipsum) to the Title track and then modify the text. So, if I could not get the problem solved of adding text directly to a clip, I have to add text the long way through the preset Lorem Ipsum clips.
There is any simple method to insert/add a clip on timeline without its sound? I know the methods of locking the audio track in the sequence or deleting the audio track of the clip but I'd like to have some simple shortcut like Option+drag or something similar. There is any?
I want to adjust the level of the sound within a clip. I take my pen tool and just add 2 keyframes a few seconds apart from eachother. I adjust the height of the last keyframe, but when I playback NOTHING happends. This is so annoying because it has always worked. I use Premiere Pro 5.5.
is it possible to put sound, either a song or a clip, into a picture such as a web banner... my friend wants to have a forum tag were you put your mouse over it and music plays. Is this possible to do in photoshop or image ready?
I made my signature for a forum but I wanted to add a little animation. For example something like this. Its a video animation. Just a little clip. I was just wondering I added it to my Signature? The clip I have is a .gif image.
I have recently completed a new project and made a video file (using the DVD option). This video file plays perfectly with media player etc., but when I the burn a DVD from the file all I get is the pictures with no sound.
I am using VS Pro x4 ultimate - what I am missing (apart from the sound! )
I'm using a freshly installed VideoStudio Pro x5, so all settings are standard.
I imported XXX.MTS files (AVCHD) from a camcorder into VSX5.
Info on the files File format: NTSCVideo Type H. 264 29.97 fps Audio Type: Dolby Digital 48khz , 2 ch Bite rate 18.00Mbps
If i preview the files before putting them into the project, there is no sound, movie plays fine. If i add them to the project and select "project" instead of clip there is sound... If i add them to the project and select "clip" instead of project there is no sound...
I import any mpg file which are known to have sound and when i ty to play it there is no audio at all from Pro X3. This has been working all along and it just seems to have stopped. I have made sure of the obvious things. We get sound from other apps so the computer and speakers are fine. I have checked the sound icon from within Pro X3 and it is turned up to max.
Whenever I import an AvI file into Corel Video Studio Pro X5 there is no sound whatsoever. Other file types work fine, but any and all AVIs I try will not play back any audio. I have tried at least a dozen from different origins and no success.
I'm outputting DV-AVI files filmed on a Sony A1 in DV CAM as MPEG-4 videos for upload to Vimeo.
The projects and source files are:
PAL (25 fps) Microsoft AVI files 24 bits, 720 x 576, 16:9, 25 fps Lower Field First Matrox DV/DVCAM -- type 2 PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
I have been outputting to upload the files to Vimeo as: MPEG-4 Files 24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps Frame-based H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps 44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
My question is if there's any benefit or drawback to outputting at 256 Kbps sound instead of 128? The file sizes are pretty similar (I guess the extra sound quality takes a bit of the picture kbps instead?) but I can't notice a difference with either image or sound quality.
I have a short project which I am trying to burn on to a DVD. When I play the DVD after I have successfully burned the project, I get video but no sound. I have tried both normalize audio checked and unchecked with the same results. I am using DVD-video as the recording format. I am running VS Pro x4.
Using VS Pro X2 on a 2.67GHz i5 with 4GB of memory running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Had lots of problems creating this project as during rendering to DVD or to a file it would get about 80% and then get the dreaded "Program not responding" message from Windows 7 Home Premium. I solved that problem by reducing the size of the many images that I had in the project and successfully rendered to an mpg file which has sound ok.
Now when I try to render to a DVD, at the preview stage there is no sound, but there was sound before I reduced the size of the images in the project.
I am using VideoStudio X5. Generally video clips in various formats play properly in VS - except for MPG clips. In the case of those, the sound is very "echoey". In other words all the sound is repeated just a second or so later even though I know it is fine in the original. I do not have the same problem in other formats such as avi or wmv.
I'm using win7, and just from today, x4 has stopped giving any sound output. Playing mpg files I can see the sound levels in the mixer, but there's no output audio. I can hear mpg audio in other players, just not in Corel.
I am attempting to transfer old VHF video to DVD. Using Hauppauge win Tv capture I achieve a surprisingly good quality sound and vision when capturing and all appears well. But! when I play back the VSP, after approx 2 seconds the sound starts going out of sync and progressively gets further and further out of sync, at worst approx 1 min separation. I hoped that after rendering this would correct itself, but no. I am using UVS 1.
