VideoStudio :: X4 - Adding Sound To A Clip?
Aug 9, 2012I am a Video studio PROx4 user. Recently, I had some old 8mm films transferred to video and now I'm editing them in Videostudio prox4.
I have a few clips where I want to add sound; HOwever, when I drag the sound clip to the Voice track or the music track, the clip remains silent. The original clip seems to have a audio track already. I can split the audio and the delete the track from the voice track, and then unmute it and re-submit the music track I want to use but it somehow doesn't do the trick.

Feb 18, 2013I have a project which is a party with background burble. I cut to a mute cutaway shot of the mountains outside the window, then back into the party. I want the background burble to run right through. How can I strip some sound off a combined video clip and lay it under the mute outdoor shot?Used to do this quite easily in 16mm.

May 7, 2011I am using VideoStudio 3x. I've imported a DVD that contains subtitles -
-when I view the resulting Mpeg file within the program, the subtitles are displayed
-when I view the mpeg through another viewer (ie Windows media player) - the subtitles are NOT visible
-If I burn the mpeg to a DVD - again - the subtitles are neither visible nor available
how do I either - extract the subtitles into an srt file - or make them visible in the other viewers?
- odd thing - when I view the original DVD I can turn the subtitles on or off - but when I try to extract them directly from the source - I get an empty file (go figure)

Feb 15, 2013importing DVD's in VS-ProX5. I currently have both versions 12 and 15 (Pro X5) installed on my computer. In version 12, if I import or capture a DVD through the VIDEO_TS folders it will give me many options for what I want to do with the DVD Folder. It will let me see my audio options, let me choose to include or exclude subtitles and even change to a different angle, which I have never used. So a home video that I am trying to import in ProX5 does not even give me the choice! It just inserts the subtitles for me! The problem is that this time I didn't want the subtitles since my movie is in English and the subtitles are for my non-English speaking family members..Where on the new VS is the option for choosing subtitles? I can't believe it's not there and that Vs12 is more advanced than VS15..

Oct 26, 2010Running Ulead Video studio 10 Plus and have used it well for the last few years, on Windows Vista Home ed. Have put the audio on to the project as i always have and ever had any problems wih it. Now though it will only play the sound when the audio clip is selected and not when project is selected, although the coloured lines move on the mixer in both sourround sound and non-surround sound when project is selected.

VideoStudio :: Lag / Delay When Previewing Project
Dec 22, 2010My project is 11-minutes long. There is a lag of around 10-seconds when I am on the timeline and hit <space> or press [>] on the preview control. It wasn't like this when I started the project earlier today.
What can I do to get rid of this lag?
VideoStudio :: Pro 5 Delay When Pressing Play?
Oct 29, 2012On my Video Studio Pro 5 I have an annoying delay every time I press Play to preview.
I am sure that pressing this button is the most common thing people do and yet it's the slowest one. It takes 2-3 sec each time.
I have pretty fast new computer i5 overclocked to 4Gh and 8GB Ram and working with short (max 10min) 720p clips.
VideoStudio :: X3 Slideshow - Time Delay On Each Picture Frame About 3 Seconds?
Dec 31, 2010I have created a slide show by Inserting Media file to Timeline, Insert Photos. I then Share, and then Create Video File. This is a great product, so easy. However I noticed that the time delay on each picture frame is about 3 seconds. I have manually increased each slide to 5 seconds using the slider on the timeline. But this is cumbersome. Is there a place to change this default 3 seconds to what I want in the software? I cannot find it.

I imported XXX.MTS files (AVCHD) from a camcorder into VSX5.

Audio Type: Dolby Digital
48khz , 2 ch
Bite rate 18.00Mbps
If i preview the files before putting them into the project, there is no sound, movie plays fine.
If i add them to the project and select "project" instead of clip there is sound...
If i add them to the project and select "clip" instead of project there is no sound...
I updated my VSX5 with SP1 but it didn't work...

Jun 7, 2011Suddenly Pro X3 will no longer play audio.
I import any mpg file which are known to have sound and when i ty to play it there is no audio at all from Pro X3. This has been working all along and it just seems to have stopped. I have made sure of the obvious things.We get sound from other apps so the computer and speakers are fine. I have checked the sound icon from within Pro X3 and it is turned up to max.

Apr 27, 2012Whenever I import an AvI file into Corel Video Studio Pro X5 there is no sound whatsoever. Other file types work fine, but any and all AVIs I try will not play back any audio. I have tried at least a dozen from different origins and no success.

The projects and source files are:
PAL (25 fps)
Microsoft AVI files
24 bits, 720 x 576, 16:9, 25 fps
Lower Field First
Matrox DV/DVCAM -- type 2
PCM, 48.000 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo
I have been outputting to upload the files to Vimeo as:
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1280 x 720, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 Main Profile Video: 5000 Kbps
44100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 128 Kbps
My question is if there's any benefit or drawback to outputting at 256 Kbps sound instead of 128? The file sizes are pretty similar (I guess the extra sound quality takes a bit of the picture kbps instead?) but I can't notice a difference with either image or sound quality.
I'm using Video Studio Pro X5.

I have tried both normalize audio checked and unchecked with the same results. I am using DVD-video as the recording format. I am running VS Pro x4.

Jul 1, 2011Using VS Pro X2 on a 2.67GHz i5 with 4GB of memory running Windows 7 Home Premium.
Had lots of problems creating this project as during rendering to DVD or to a file it would get about 80% and then get the dreaded "Program not responding" message from Windows 7 Home Premium. I solved that problem by reducing the size of the many images that I had in the project and successfully rendered to an mpg file which has sound ok.
Now when I try to render to a DVD, at the preview stage there is no sound, but there was sound before I reduced the size of the images in the project.
VideoStudio :: Sound In MPG Files
Oct 25, 2012I am using VideoStudio X5. Generally video clips in various formats play properly in VS - except for MPG clips. In the case of those, the sound is very "echoey". In other words all the sound is repeated just a second or so later even though I know it is fine in the original. I do not have the same problem in other formats such as avi or wmv.

I'm using win7, and just from today, x4 has stopped giving any sound output. Playing mpg files I can see the sound levels in the mixer, but there's no output audio. I can hear mpg audio in other players, just not in Corel.

Jun 10, 2012I am attempting to transfer old VHF video to DVD. Using Hauppauge win Tv capture I achieve a surprisingly good quality sound and vision when capturing and all appears well. But! when I play back the VSP, after approx 2 seconds the sound starts going out of sync and progressively gets further and further out of sync, at worst approx 1 min separation. I hoped that after rendering this would correct itself, but no. I am using UVS 1.

Apr 18, 2011I just began using Version X4 of Corel VideoStudio Pro.
I just used it for the first time after upgrading from X3. I rendered a short video and when I tried playing it back the slide moves across the "time bar" BUT there is no motion on the screen. The same when I tried to play it w/Windows Media player.
I started coverting MPEG 4 video to DivX which always worked in X3. No I get no motion at all and no sound. Do I have a bad download?
VideoStudio :: No 3D Output And Or 5.1 Sound?
Mar 13, 2012I am using Corel Video Studio Pro X4, I have asked the below questions previously, so far there has not been a solution. It appears Corel do not have any way to contact them when there is a problem
I chose this programme over Cyberlink Power Director as it had the 5.1 mixer and 3D capabilities. I now find Power Director Ultra 10 now has the 3D Capability, the 3D works very well, but no 5.1 mixer only a pesudo type 5.1 sound, the programme itself looks to be excellent quality.
Should there be no solution to my above problems, then the only choice I have is to use Power Director, a pity.

Dec 13, 2012I own a copy of Corel Video Studio Pro X3. Since installing the patches for it, the sound stutters on the finished videos that I make. Original files are fine. I had this problem on the previous computer I used this program with, and after searching this forum, found a hotfix for it. Unfortunately the hotfix link is no longer working.

Yet when MP4 file is produced (iphone/ipad HD format as suggested originally by support for the web) – then the sound disappears after a few minutes.I tried to play this MP4 of a few different computers and it looks the same. Jan 19, 2012I am new to this, I have just bought EasyCap adapter with audio it came with VideoStudio 10.0 and I am trying to copy my old holiday videos from my Hitachi VM-E210e 8mm camcorder which plays fine on the tv with sound but I only get a picture on my preview screen on my laptop and the sound from the room not from the video, the camcorder uses a yellow and white jack plugs to a usb, so the picture is ok but the sound is not from the recorded tape in the camcorder. i am using win 7 Home Premium, also I am totaly confused as to what to save them as (dvd,wmv etc etc) I would like to save them to disks to give to the family to work on their dvd players and computers.

Jan 16, 2013Opened VideoStudio to re run an old .vsp file and the sound had disappeared completely. I checked using a music file and again there was no sound. Other programs are fine, Youtube works OK and my Microphone is still operating.
The loss of sound seems to only affect VSx5. I cannot work out if it is the program that has corrupted or I have pressed the wrong button. I have checked all the usual suspects like the mute buttons and these are OK.

Apr 30, 2011I somehow caused my sound track to overlap. I can't seem to remove it. Down at the bottom of the picture looks like a white X on the bottom music track.
I hesitate to mess with it much because I had two video tracks and spend some time getting them synced.
VideoStudio :: How To Save MP4 Video So It Has No Sound
Oct 23, 2011I am trying out a few video editors, having never worked with one before. I shot a video with my camera and have imported the MP4 file into VSPro x4. But I would like to disable the audio track --to silence everything my camera's microphone picked up when I was shooting the video and save the result as a "silent film" also in MP4 format. I don't even need to do any splicing or cutting at this point. But I cannot figure how to kill the sound. In one of the products I'm looking at, there's a Disable Audio option on its Output menu. I cannot find a counterpart option with Corel Video Studio Pro x4. Does it have this capability?
