VideoStudio :: Files Just Went Missing?

I have been saving a project in a separate folder and it would place it there as uvs130219-001.mpg. It would save three different file. One is the uvs file, another is a .upd file and the last is the .vsp file. Now all of a sudden it is no longer doing this. All it saves there is the .vsp file and not the others. I have tried search and it finds it nowhere. It has to be there somewhere because I can close out the project and then open it up and the clip will be there.

I have installed the Corporate and Education version of VideoStudio Pro X3 on 20 computers in a lab at a small high school where this product represents a significant portion of our software budget. In the documentation, I see options like "Easy Edit" and "Burn" on the startup screen, however my startup screen only has the options of "Advanced Edit" and "DV-to-DVD Wizard". At every turn, where an option to burn a DVD should be present, buttons are missing. I have uninstalled/reinstalled a hundred times looking over every option, and I can't find anything that is unchecked. Do you know why VS Pro X3 has no Burning capabilities for me?

Video Studios 12 Pro had 14 flashback transitions. When upgraded to VS X3 Pro and now to VS X4 Pro noticed that there is only 1 flashback transition. Is there some way to copy the transitions from VS 12 to VS X14 Pro ?

I have just had to re-install my copy of X5 Ultimate as for some reason the files stopped working..
When I first started the software it told me there was a service update (previously installed on last install and worked fine) but when I clicked on update now it just closed the window without doing anything. I have downloaded the patch from Corel and that installed without problem.
But now, on looking in the 'do more' section there are only 3 items, Boris, Newblue Effects and Jamendo. (I have the first 2 as part of the ultimate edition anyway). The templates and other downloadable content are missing.

I upgraded to Videostudio X6 in the black Friday sale- and when I open my video editor, a picture pop up box usually appears, with a link to check for updates, showing another link with bonus content, etc, and the orange exclamation button in the top right hand corner of the screen (once I click the x on the box and get into my program) usually shows help content.
Since I registered, now all I get is a huge white box for the welcome- it's no longer the full picture- with a cut off tiny bit of the picture screen in upper left corner, but when I put my mouse over a few of the links (not all of them are showing), they don't activate, some just show another white box with the the word "OK" and once I get into the program and click on the help content button- I get a white box that just says "OK". Same with when I exit- I know longer see the tip of the day or any specials - just a white box that says "OK"
I did click the small box at very beginning before editing program appears on monitor- the popup that shows the sale for this version for Black Friday - to have it never show again (since I just bought it)- but when I did the same with Videostudio X5- this never happened, so I don't think that's the problem.
I think it has to do with after I registered- days after - because it was working fine til then.
I saw some were having a problem with Internet Explorer and offered tips- but I use Firefox.
I really don't want to uninstall and reinstall, because I spent days preparing my folders in my library for easy use and retrieval and I don't want to lose all that information/work.

I worked about 4 hours last night on a 13 minute video in ProX3. Before starting I uploaded patch from link that popped up when I opened ProX3. When all done editing, I "shared" it to YouTube via ProX3. This morning when I checked YouTube I found the video audio is corrupt meaning where I had it muted, in some clips it now has scratchy "heart beat" sounding video audio and in some places no video audio where I wanted it, whaaaa. I went back to the original .VSP file to see what was wrong, but the video audio looks good in the wave data.

I have been a user of previous versions of VS...but my last version was VS12 because I didn't like version 3 or 4. Finally I am trying Pro X5 on a trial. I completed a project in Pro X5 but now I want to save it out to my computer. The problem is that when I want to save it I am missing my compression options. My standard procedure was to go --> Share --> Save File --> Custom --> Options --> Compression and I could choose from 8 different Media Types...Now, in Pro X5 I only get 2 compression types...NTSC and PAL..

I recently upgraded from VS9 to X2. When I "Create Video File," the audio format options I have are:
PCM
IMA ADPCM
CCITT A-Law
CCITT u-Law
GSM 6.10
Microsoft ADPCM
I seem to recall having more options than this with VS9, but I'm not sure if it's a VS issue or something that needs to be installed on my computer. I also have a new computer, so I don't have all the codecs and audio encoders that I had previously collected over time on my old computer. For example, I used to encode videos for youtube using Xvid. I always had the option for mp3 audio. Now, I only have the above options. I don't even know what most of those are.
Are there some plug-ins that I need to install?
Also, is there a manual that I can download somewhere? I didn't see anything in the install folder, the support area of Corel's site

I am using VS Pro X2.
When I go to my Video Filters they are gone.
I have renamed my vfilter.rsf with no results, as well as the other fixes suggested in this furum for VS10. There does not seem to be a topic for this issue for X2.

It is rather a long time since I captured, edited and burned to DVD on VS10, maybe I have forgotten what to do? I have Windows 7 and have downloaded the patch which successfully allowed me to capture successfully.
However, now that it is time to burn to DVD - I go to 'create disc' and although this takes me through to the next page - I find I don't have the next section after that - i.e. the actual DVD menu's and the bit where I actually render and burn to DVD.

I have VideoStudio Pro X2 (bought last Oct from Amazon didn't know it was two versions old and so had no support from Corel ) . I have come to use it in anger for the first time to create a DVD of my friends wedding. Everything works OK until I use the "share and then create a disk" I get to the Preview stage (it previews great) and then there is a "Back" button but no "Next" button.
I downloaded the latest patch from Corel for this version but it made no difference.

I usually create several smaller .vsp projects for managing purposes and in each project I create several chapter points by inserting the green arrow icon as described on page 96 of the user guide. I then combine a couple .vsp projects in order to fill a dvd by the following sequence:
1/ start with a new blank project
2/ click on 3 share tab up top
3/ click on create disc / dvd
4/ add 2 vsp projects or more
5/ Click add/edit chapters to confirm proper chapters points have carried through from previous vsp projects
It is at this point where I notice all chapter points have been deleted from the individual vsp projects which is very frustrating.
I have also updated with SP1 & 2, and I have checked to see that the software is up to date via the Corel Guide message center and it says that it is.
I have also noticed that if i create a DVD of one project, the chapter points stay intact, however the name of the selected clip changes to untitled.

I recently upgraded from X2Pro to X4 ultimate and I'm missing some transition effects that I had in X2 but are not in X4.
I'm really disappointed that transition effects and other stuff from X2 content pack are not included in x4 ultimate, and I cant find any content pack for x4 on corel website, is there any?
Can I use transition effects from X2 in X4? I hate to have to use X2 after paying for X4 Ultimate just for transition effects

I have used VideoStudio 11 happily for some time now but when I recently captured a HDV video in the DV format I found that the audio in some of the sequences plays back normally BUT some does not play back at all or only at a very very low level. The audio on the original tape is fine and I can see the audio waveform on the sequences that don't play back.

When capturing video, other formats besides DVD are missing. I am trying to import video for outputting Blu-Ray but I am unable to select Blu-Ray as the imput format. It's not greyed out, it's missing along with other formats. The only format that you can select is DVD.

I have recently upgraded from VideoStudio 12 to Pro X4, and have noticed that I don't have all of the Video Save Options (specifically Media type and Audio format) that I have with 12.
I produce video for playback by a regional local access provider, and their requirements are mpeg-2 video with mpeg layer 2 audio. Both of these are options that are available in 12 but not X4. I understand that NTSC DVD video is mpeg-2, but I'm still at a loss with the audio format.

Using VS X6 with one video track and one title track. The problem I have is when I choose the 'Create Disk' option, Create ISO the resulting ISO is missing the Title track.
If I 'Create Video File' and select DVD 16x9 it creates the MPEG file fine with Title track.
Have I missed a setting tick box somewhere?
I've uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled same missing titles problem.
I've been using Video Studio for years and never experienced anything like this.

Using VS X2, There is only black screen when editing sample file or any other video. All load correctly and can be viewed as individual clips but only black screen when playing "project" . Have re-installed program (repair) - no change.

I am successfully creating a DVD using the Create Disc (DVD) option under the Share menu. I am adding multiple Project files that I have created (.VSP) files to it. Once it is all set up, I select Burning Options add Copyright Information and then I have also clicked on the add Project File to the disc option. However once the disc is created, I cannot find the Project File (.VSP) on the disc.
I am using VideoStudio Pro X4 with all the patches to SP3 installed. PAL system, and I am not receiving any errors.
Am I missing something simple? Does the Project File added to the disc not use the same file extension?

I finished my HD project in VS X3. It consist of 1920x1080 clips, titles, music, transitions. It was compiled as AVCHD NTFS 1920x1080. I got a 8 min 13 sec file as just over 1Gb in size. It was payed well in the computer.
Then I tried to get a hybrid DVD by using DF7SE. I choose DVD=>AVCHD, add simple menu and burned a disk. When I tried to play on TV screen by using blue-ray player I found that only menu screen exists, but no my video yet.
I repeated this after number of re-compilations. Even I re-install DF7SE. But result was the same. Then I put into my hybrid disk this mpg file and couple similar 1920x1080 AVCHD files from my prvious projects. Also I slightly modified my last project file, compiled under different name and put into the same disk.
In a burned disk I can see a menu of all four files. But on TV screen I can watch only two files from my older projects.
I couldn't find any differences in older and newer projects.

MY version of Ulead VideoStudio 11.5 crashed and upon rebooting I noticed that the Attributes tool has completely disappeared. I had this problem once before and I found a post online that cured the problem, unchecking a box somewhere resolved it....but I cant find or remember what to do..

I downloaded the trial version of Video Studio X6 to compare with my current Camtasia 7. I did a screen capture and saved it as a mp4 format. Now that I put it in VS, I can see and hear the recording in the preview, but in the timeline, I only see the video track and wmv. Where is the audio track for that recording?
I found it hidden until I clicked on Graphic > Voice Track.
Any way to remove background noise? I know it is feasible in Camtasia. I assume it is also feasible in VS, but where and how?

I can only create project with SD frame sizes. 720p or 1080p is not offered in the Project details setup.
Also when I want to capture from a 720p webcam I can only select "DVD" in the dropdown list for the capture proifle. Why are all the HD features missing

Just got on here and love Video Studio x4 with one exception. When I capture video from my DV8 tapes, sony player, it will miss half of the beginning of the capture. This has happened with more than one tape. If I use Windows Live Movie Maker, no problems.

I created two projects for a dance performance:
Project A was for the first half. It had 2 video tracks, an audio track, and a text track.
Project B had 2 video tracks an audio track & a text track.
I opened VideoStudio 5 with no project loaded.
I then went into share mode & picked generate a DVD
I then loaded project A & then loaded project B
I built a main menu which had links for project A & B
I built a "sub" menu for project A
I built a "sub" menu for project B.
I then previewed (via the DVD preview option in the SHARE step of videostudio) all menu choices. Project A & Project B played perfectly meaning that ALL tracks played at the proper time.
I then generated an actual DVD and an iso file.
I saved the project file that was used to generate the DVD.
When I played the DVD all of the effects and tracks worked for the project A material. However, only the main video track played for the project B material. In other words the overlay video track & the text tracks were ignored. I created another DVD from the iso with the same "bogus" results.
I then opened the the project that was used to generate the DVD. I went to share ... generate DVD ... preview project B worked perfectly (i.e. it utilized the overlay and text tracks).
In other words the generated DVD didn't include the video overlay & text tracks for project B. Yet when you preview it inside of VideoStudio share dvd preview the overlay track & text appears.
I have since generated a video only file for project B & the overlay & text tracks are there.
I assumed that you could import 2 vsp projects into one project during the share step when you create a DVD. Is this the problem? Or is there a bug in VideoStudio pro 5?

I am a user of Video Studio X2. I am having problems seeing video. When I open a project, it appears to open normally but when I play it, no video shows, just the sound. If I insert a video file onto the timeline, I get a message which says "Unable to open file" Below that is says "Catastrophic Failure" and in the lower left of the message it has the number [17101:70:2]. The exact same file will open and play normally in other players such as Windows Media Player.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium, and I recently installed VideoStudio Pro X6. After making a video file, I found that the file details that are usually visible within Windows Explorer were not present. For example, when making a video using older versions of VideoStudio Pro, Windows Explorer would display the file size, video length, frame width and height, frame rate, data rate, etc., but now with Pro X6 none of these details can be found. When right-clicking on the file in Windows Explorer to check the properties tab, all the fields reserved for these details are blank.
Is there a setting within Pro X6 that I am overlooking that enables the saving of these details again?

I have this problem in VS11, and was about to buy X5 thinking that the problem would be solved by now. But to be safe I thought that I better try the demo first, and now I find out it does the same thing.
2. Describe your problem: The file is a TV tuner capture from one particular channel, and every time you edit it it produces correct video, but audio with alternate 1/2 seconds of silence.
3. What devices are involved and their mode of connection?: Internal TV tuner cards (Compro and Leadtek)
4. The Version of program is being used e.g. VS11+ VS11.5+ VSX2+VSX3+VSX4+X5
5. list all patches/updates that have been installed relating to that version of the program.
VS11 updated to VS11.5 and X5 with no updates - it won't allow SP1 to install -
6. Details of the source files. Note: to obtain all the properties of a file, right click on a video file in either the VS timeline or library window.[b] Where did they originate (camcorder, internet, TV card etc) How did they get onto your hard drive (download, firewire, USB cable etc.)
Type of video e.g. MPEG2, DV, MTS, Mov, DivX, MPEG4 etc
Video data rate
Type of audio e.g. LPCM, AC3, MP3 etc
Audio data rate

When I apply a video filter the sliders and button under the original/preview box are hidden beyond access by the windows box's boundaries.
I can see they're just hidden below the timeline of the split original/preview section. Can't seem to maximize the windows box to show the whole thing and access them. Here's a picture to show: [URL].......
Is this a common problem? Is there a work around? Has it been fixed in VS X4?
Quick edit: this happens with more than just one filter.
