But, I couldn't figure out how to get a certain effect I was wanting to use. Basically, at the 2:34 mark there is a picture of a lady kneeling down petting a puppy. The very next picture is the same lady with the same dog as an adult. I was trying to get the second picture to fade into the screen and the first picture fades out. So they kind of "morph" if you will. I assume that's possible - but I am just to new to the program to figure it out.
how they did they perfect fading technique of the red filter on the upper part of this photo.

View 3 Replies View Relatedbasically i can create a simple grid pattern ... but i then want to fade the edges out ..... kinda like a gradient effect ..
i`ve used a feathering technique and kinda acheived the look i want .. but it's not quite good enough ( also tried using the eraser too with large airbrush ).
whats the best approach for this ? masks ? gradients ?
also lets say i have a straight line and i want to fade the line out into the background ...
I've used Paint.net for quite some time, using it mainly for two-tone graphic art or pixel art. Quite a while ago, I created this cool effect that I'll demonstrate with images, however, I have literally completely forgotten how exactly I did it.
Anyway, here's the walk through process of the effect, it's a fade in, making it seem like there are clouds at the bottom of the silhouette that cover the black of the lower layer while doing so in a way that is like a gradient, but of course, not so linear and straight -
Here's the first image, ignore the shaft of light:
The 2nd image shows the silhouette, the shadow of a colossus, if you will. What I want to do is add something that blends the black to the background, so you can't see his feet:
The 3rd image here shows the first layer of fade (and the first layer only), this layer doesn't directly cover up the lower part of the silhouette but it does add some sort of cover for the lower parts of the main silhouette to create a more subtle blend as opposed to straight black over dark green:
This is the 4th image detailing the 2nd fade-layer, still separate from the 1st fade layer just to show them separately:
And finally, the fifth image showing both fade-layers, the silhouette and the background color:
Ok, so that's that. Basically, how did I do that? What did I actually do? I've been playing around with the image for quite a long time, and the whole reason I'm doing this is because I'm recreating the image in a much higher resolution but I want it to be perfect, of course, and want to recreate and remember this effect.
I think, but am not sure, that it may have had something to do with the "Clouds" option, found under "Render". Maybe the Gradient option and blurs.
what the command that controls the fade effect for xref's in LT '09?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm just about ready to buy Corel Studio Pro X5, but one "issue" is bothering me, I cannot fade in and out the overlay track. I can drag the cross-fade onto the image or video, but it doesn't cross-fade with the actual video. Instead, the screen suddenly goes black and the overlay track fades in. Same on the way out, it just fades to black (queue the music ) and then the underlying video pops back in.
I'm using the 30-day trial Video Studio Pro X5.
I have inserted a .wav file I split from another video, to use as a background sound at the first and end of my project while the credits come up. I want the sound file to fade in and fade out at start and finish. The 2 fade in/out buttons work, but, fading seems to go from 0 -60mph in a .5 seconds.
So, is there away of stretching the fading at each end of the file?
I'm a new user for Pro X4. Can you add a fade to a title? I don't see it in the option tab.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI haven´t used VS X3 for a while... everything as fine. Recently I used it again, and it happened that the fade-in/fade-out buttons (in the video edit group of controls) for the overlay clips do not work. Even though I select them to enable the fading, the overlay video starts without any fading. Is there any special setting somewhere that can change the behavior of these buttons. Also the rotating fade in/out does not work ay more.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to fade the volume out completely at the end of a audio clip. I have read the manual on the subject and have tried to follow the instructions that it gives. Until now I have not had any success. I know that I am missing something I just don't know what it is. I would like the audio to fade out completely so that I can fade in to another audio clip. I have clicked the fade out tabs but the volume only decreases a little at the end of the clip.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying the demo version of MotionStudio 3D. So far it looks very powerful and much easier to use than Graffiti. It allows you to export a project directly to the timeline in Video Studio. I wanted credits superimposed over another scene and I wanted the credits to fade in and fade out. So I put the exported titles onto track 2 in VS. I set the allignment options in VS to "fit to screen." The middle part of the clip where transparency=0 looks great. But the beginning and end, where transparency=100, instead of the title being disappearing, it turns black.
If that doesn't work, is there a way I can use VS to accomplish the same fade-in / fade-out of something on track 2? You can specify transparency for the clip on track 2, but that appears to be just one value for the entire clip, not something you can modify with keyframes.
Trying to edit an 8 to 10 second fade from black to a clip.
The closest I can get is this: Black color, Crossfade Transition, Video Clip This would work, but transitions are limited to 3 seconds.
Also, is there a way to freeze a video for a defined amount of time? I know inserting a capture of the last frame as a still image would work, but seems like a bit of extra work.

I want to fade a title when it exits from my video. You can see in this video the title abruptly ends (you'll see it in the first 10 sec of this video: [URL] ...
I would like to have the title gradually fade away.
I'm just experimenting putting a project together and I have come across this option under the Project Settings under the Share Tab.
I cannot work out what it does? I have ticked/un-ticked the box but it seems to make no difference. How this works?
I'd like to fade the audio from 100% to 50% over a period of time as opposed to a hard cut in volume. Any trick for doing this smoothly (besides cutting it into 50 individual chunks and manually doing it)?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a video I’ve edited (text captions etc) in CS6 - Can I somehow slow it down ie create a slow motion effect and then export that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've edited with VideoStudio 7, 10, 11, X2, X3 and X4 and just switched to X5. An issue that I experienced (and resolved) early in my use of VS Pro X4 has now resurfaced with VS Pro X5 and I can't recall how I "fixed" the issue last time.
My main video track is in its usual spot on the top row of the timeline (in Timeline View). Ripple editing is enabled. When I use the scissors to manually split the main track at any point, an audio fade-in is automatically applied to the trailing clip after the split. At the same time, the audio levels on both the leading and the trailing clip (before and after the split point) are instantly reset to 0 db. This is particularly maddening when I've carefully re-adjusted my main track's audio levels before applying the split.
I have the DSLR 7D and it has these wonderful 720/50p module which could offer some amazing slo-mo, if you use it. Is this possible to do with my program, or do I need a better program like Vegas from Sony?
View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing VideoStudio X4 Ultimate 14.2.0.23 I have the following issue:
When doing a crossfade between video clips, the audio crossfades just fine in the preview of the edit screen in X4. However, after exporting to DVD 14:9 format, in the resulting MPG video the audio of the first clip correctly fades out, while the audio of the second clip doesn't fade in... it just jumps in.
I use titles a lot with VS x4 and have a couple of questions. I often use the backgrounds available in VS x4 under the titles to add style and make them more visible. I usually fade up to the title and fade back out again. However, when I do this, the title itself fades fairly smoothly but the background looks terrible. Is there any way to get titles and backgrounds to fade in/out together s-m-o-o-t-h-l-y?
Edit: Here's a video from YouTube: [URL].....
Watch the background for "Just a Good Read"... as the title fades off at the end of this title sequence, the background doesn't fade -- it just sort of snaps off. I really like the background but want it to fade in/out smoothly with the title.
Another question about titles: Is there any way to group title elements together so that they become one object? I created a complex title with lots of little elements such as dashes. However, when I move any one element, the others don't move, and lining them up again is a pain. Can I associate these items to create a single object in which everything is moved (and for that matter, sized) together?
