View 14 Replies View RelatedI experimented with slow motion of a water fall video clip from Letchworth State Park of New York where we visited recently. The original clip is 1080p24fps. I used virtualdub, avisynth, mvtools method to change the video clip from 24fps to 96fps, and 144fps. This method smoothly builds additional frames between each of the 24fps appropriately and the method works great to create smooth slow motion that plays in VLC slowing the 96 and 144 clips fluidly slow. Inserting the three clips into VS works fine and play normally. Selecting the inserted 96fps clip, and slowing it by 25% plays jerky, and renders as 1080p24fps the same way. Same situation with the 144fps clip. I played with all the parameters: frame and % and I could not make VS X4 play the clips smoothly. I am hoping I don't understand how to use this new Time lapse/Speed feature. BTW, I also own Premiere Pro, and it does the slow down of these clips perfectly. You can see the three clips in VIMEO done with Premiere Pro: [URL]
EDIT: I just tried Microsoft Movie Maker that comes free from Microsoft, and it does the slow down correctly. I am thinking this is a problem with VS X4
On top of my first video, I just did another Elkhound video.

But, I couldn't figure out how to get a certain effect I was wanting to use. Basically, at the 2:34 mark there is a picture of a lady kneeling down petting a puppy. The very next picture is the same lady with the same dog as an adult. I was trying to get the second picture to fade into the screen and the first picture fades out. So they kind of "morph" if you will. I assume that's possible - but I am just to new to the program to figure it out.
I made the stop motion effect by the multi trim,and every time after 35-50 sec the software crash,i have to save my work every time before the vs4 crash,what should i do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if in Photoshop i can add a "Bullet-time effect" which was in Matrix.For example a scene which was shown in slow motion where an Agent was firing at Neo and then Neo dodged bullets and we could actually see effects produced by bullets.Maybe i need to combine some filters/layers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add a title at the end of the movie which I'd like to appear as movie credits and I want the final 3 lines to stay on the screen (not exit).
My text starts moving and when it reaches a certain point, pauses for a few seconds and then it continues to move and then disappears. I want to change the pause point of the text but I can't figure out how to do it and also I want the paused text to stay on the screen until the end of the movie.
I just had my gopro take 377 pictures over a few hours (30 seconds apart) and imported them all into the timeline. What I want to do is compress all these to a time frame somewhere around 1-1:30 or so just for a short clip of clouds moving across the sky. This is easy enough to do by selecting them all and bulk changing the duration to some fraction of a second. The problem is that it was quite breezy so the movement of the tree branches from one frame to another make it more "jerky" than I want when playing back.
Is there some way to smooth this out, I was thinking a real short fade transition between each frame, but that would take a month of Sundays and I don't know if I can get the transition short enough. I tried importing with default transition to cross-fade but the transition was way too long.
I have a 1-minute clip that I've been working on. The first 30s I want to playback at normal speed. Between 30 and 36s I want the playback speed to gradually increase to about double the normal playback speed. At 36s I want it to stay at double speed for a few seconds and then gradually return to realtime playback. I don't want it to suddenly go from normal speed to double speed. From what I've read this is possible with the TimeWarp effect or enabling time re-mapping. Since I don't know how to do either I decided to look up some tuts on TimeWarp. I didn't find much and when I add the TimeWarp effect to my footage layer, all the color correction I did on it disappears.
I guess I'm wondering two things:
-How do I accomplish the speeding up and slowing down that I described above?
-If I'm supposed to use Timewarp, why does it create issues with my color and how do I fix it?
I am preparing a slideshow using photos. Is there a way to change the duration time to all of the photos at once? Say to 6 sec. I can do them one by one but I have a number of photos. I am using Video Studio X3.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying out my new cam which can do video in 24p (23.something), and I can edit the clips, all ok. There are just two things I cannot do: Make a still (it's really the 24p material, I used a clip in 60i and stills worked), and changing the time/frame counter to 24 frames. No matter what I do, it will always stay there.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to "render every Nth Frame" with a value of 0.5 oder 0.25 ?
To create a slow motion of the complete sequence without to use rescale time?
I'm rendering at 1920x1080HD 25fps. Used the expression found on numerous threads including this one to generate whole number pixel shifts per frame.
t = time;fr = t/thisComp.frameDuration;x = value [0];s = 4; //Speed in pixels per frame [x, fr*s]
I generated the text and images in InDesign and exported as a PDF. Imported PDF into AE. Have tried a few whole number values for s including 4 and still getting judder.
Generated to H264 and Apple Pro Res codecs doesn't seem to make much difference to judder.Here is my AE project with PDF. Here is output as H264 (40MB).
Also included a Quartz Composer file .where I created the same whole number pixel movement as AE but rendering it out in Quartz Crystal I get different judder but no better. Quartz Composer previews in real time and Quartz Crystal renders same project that took some 16min+ in AE in about 30 seconds. But no smoother output — even when applying AA and Motion Blur at render time.
Any video encoder where I can down-sample say a 75 fps render to 25 fps with frame blending? Does Apple's Compressor do frame blending? What about some other app that I can get this out smoothly from. I have FCP installed but have never done a title in it either.
Since my Dell only has 60Hz at full native res (2560x1440) I set it to 1080p and selected 50Hz to see if that effected anything but it makes absolutely no difference to playback smoothness.

I edit allot of sports photos and I would like to get to be able to use the Motion blur effect. I know Paint.net has the motion blur effect but I have a hard time just blurring the parts of the photo I want. Is there anyway I can get a better selecting tool?
View 2 Replies View RelatedThere's a gaussian and radial blur. What's so different about a motion blur?
I can create a sudo-motion blur by grouping several objects and moving one object off the page, then moving the center of the radial blur to that side, in the radial blur dialog. It would be much easier with a motion blur effect.
Another workaround is to blend 2 objects of different transparencies, but I can't save it as a graphic style. Transform would work, if transparency of "duplicate" objects could be altered. I don't see a way to do that either.
Looking for some creative solutions for motion blur effect, THAT CAN BE SAVED AS A GRAPHIC STYLE, I'd like to hear about them.
how they did they perfect fading technique of the red filter on the upper part of this photo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to blur some text so that it blends in with the background a little. I found the perfect way to do this using the Live Effect, Soften Filter, Motion Blur. However, when I finish getting it to blur to exactly how I need it to look, there is no option to apply this to the text. When I close the box (the only option available) I lose the effect! How do I get it to apply to my text? Do I need to change the text to a shape first?

View 3 Replies View Relatedbasically i can create a simple grid pattern ... but i then want to fade the edges out ..... kinda like a gradient effect ..
i`ve used a feathering technique and kinda acheived the look i want .. but it's not quite good enough ( also tried using the eraser too with large airbrush ).
whats the best approach for this ? masks ? gradients ?
also lets say i have a straight line and i want to fade the line out into the background ...
I've used Paint.net for quite some time, using it mainly for two-tone graphic art or pixel art. Quite a while ago, I created this cool effect that I'll demonstrate with images, however, I have literally completely forgotten how exactly I did it.
Anyway, here's the walk through process of the effect, it's a fade in, making it seem like there are clouds at the bottom of the silhouette that cover the black of the lower layer while doing so in a way that is like a gradient, but of course, not so linear and straight -
Here's the first image, ignore the shaft of light:
The 2nd image shows the silhouette, the shadow of a colossus, if you will. What I want to do is add something that blends the black to the background, so you can't see his feet:
The 3rd image here shows the first layer of fade (and the first layer only), this layer doesn't directly cover up the lower part of the silhouette but it does add some sort of cover for the lower parts of the main silhouette to create a more subtle blend as opposed to straight black over dark green:
This is the 4th image detailing the 2nd fade-layer, still separate from the 1st fade layer just to show them separately:
And finally, the fifth image showing both fade-layers, the silhouette and the background color:
Ok, so that's that. Basically, how did I do that? What did I actually do? I've been playing around with the image for quite a long time, and the whole reason I'm doing this is because I'm recreating the image in a much higher resolution but I want it to be perfect, of course, and want to recreate and remember this effect.
I think, but am not sure, that it may have had something to do with the "Clouds" option, found under "Render". Maybe the Gradient option and blurs.
I have a video I’ve edited (text captions etc) in CS6 - Can I somehow slow it down ie create a slow motion effect and then export that?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had trouble creating a certain type of motion blur effect. Typically, motion blur radiates outward from one single point. However, What I would like is for a whole section of an image to be clear (for instance, a character's torso) and then have the image GRADUALLY get blurrier from there.
I cannot figure a way to do this (apart from a very long process of creating many duplicate layers and doing an independent motion blur for each one).
Attached is an example of what my attempts look like right now: an obvious line around the region that I'm trying to showcase, rather than a smooth, gradual transition into the motion blur.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to assign a motion path to the light rays effect on one of my layers but i can't seem to find a way to do it and google has turned up nothing. the problem is the effect needs to be on a certain layer in order to make the effect look right but i don't want the layer to move i only want to affect the centre point of the effect. i can assign key frames and animate it to move in straight lines but i need it to move in a curve and there seems to be no way to alter the motion path or assign it to one on a null layer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change "capture time" of multiple photos to a specific time.
I know that there is "Edit Capture Time" feature under Metadata. But when I try to edit multiple photos, it says that "Modify the capture time stored in the selected photos by entering the correct time adjustment for the photo displayed to the left. Other photos (but not vidieos) will be adjusted by the same amount of time". And it really does.
For example,
If A file's capture time is 1/11/2011
B file's capture time is 1/11/2012
C file's capture time is 1/11/2013
I would like to change their capture time to 1/11/2014. All the three files.
But the current "Edit Capture Time" feature of Lightroom just adds three years to each file like this:
A file's capture time -> 1/11/2014
B file -> 1/11/2015
C file -> 1/11/2016
So their capture times remain as different ones. And this is not I want...
I've googled a lot and tried several programs other than lightroom as well, but the "Capture time" recognized by lightroom could not be changed by other programs.
I am animating comps in After Effects CS6, and I'm quickly moving objects across the screen using positioning keyframes and changing size using scaling keyframes. Most of the time it works great; but sometimes the motion blur effect keeps appearing *after* the object has stopped moving. Not just for a second -- but forever. It appears correct when scrubbing on the timeline, but when I render the final output movie, a non-moving object sometimes has motion blur all over it.
Sometimes I can fix it by un-parenting some layers inside the comp... other times it doesn't fix it. Sometimes I just delete it and start over and it works. Seems more like a bug then something I'm doing wrong.
I also tried on my Mac Pro tower and Macbook Pro laptop in case it was a graphics card issue; it isn't, the exact same problem manifests itself in both areas. I did just discover that turning continuous raster OFF does seem to fix the problem--but then my vector images are blurry when I zoom in... and that again sounds more like a bug, not like an incorrect setting.
I am embarrassed to ask such a basic question--but the majority of my media are still pictures for a bridal slide show, and I was wondering how to manually render "pan and zoom" like effects for each photo as the dimensions differ and I want to crop out the extra "black space" from my vertical pictures.
Most of these pics were scanned in at 600 dpi (they are old as the hills), but I also have a crop of jpgs they sent at 92 dpi...
I wish I were more savvy--I JUST purchased Corel Video--having used Roxio products for the past 5 years (wanting to take it up a notch).
I just began using Version X4 of Corel VideoStudio Pro.
I just used it for the first time after upgrading from X3. I rendered a short video and when I tried playing it back the slide moves across the "time bar" BUT there is no motion on the screen. The same when I tried to play it w/Windows Media player.
I started coverting MPEG 4 video to DivX which always worked in X3. No I get no motion at all and no sound. Do I have a bad download?
