Softimage :: Finding A Standard Axes Setup For C3D Files?
Jul 9, 2012
I have been using Face Robot in SoftImage for the lipsync feature.
I have imported an obj model and it animates well. To get other facial feature animation, I import a c3d mocap file and blend it by setting the weight options for the jaw and lips to zero.
All great, except when I enable rotation and translation to get head motion (rather than just brow and cheeks etc) the head snaps back 180 deg, leaving the neck collar in the original position. The model now has a broken neck.
If I view the c3d 'face markers' in SoftImage or Motionbuilder, it looks like the 'face forward' axis is -Z rather than +Z, and upside down. A 180 deg rotation about X.
How do I fix this? Is there a standard axes setup for c3d files?
In our drawing office we use Inventor in a mining materials handling environment. Our output is mainly structural drawings where we require a bill of materials as part of creating a drawing. Whenever I insert a BOM in the drawing environment I get this table which is labeled in a foreign language (it looks like an Eastern European language) and the format is not as per the standard Autodesk installation setup.
How do I either revert back to the standard setup or do a BOM setup from scratch?
I Find the find, CMD + F, function really useful but often i need to find multiple files at once. I tried entering a comma between the file names in the box but it doesn't work. Is there another way of finding multiple files in one sweep ?
I am importing thousands of images, and some of them are .png, .bmp and .gif files. I understand that they will not show up in LR, however, is there anyway to find them in these folders using LR? OR do I need to search for them through Mac OS and do something with them that way?
I am trying to align two components together by their axis as seen in the picture attached. The small mounts are to be mated to the face of the large plate at different radii and the rods connecting the rods are to be aligned along their axis.
I want to align the cylinders together by their axes and mate the mounts to their respective plates. Can axes be aligned with a student license of Inventor and if so, how?
how can I scale an object along two axes? For example along x and z axes, because if I use the scale tool I can only scale along one axis or x, y and z axes at the same time.
I am trying to set up a search folder in Vault that would find files checked out by all the users.
In my Tools---Find I would set the Property for Checked Out By, Condition to contains. Now, what to enter in the Value window so it searches all the users, the thing is I dont want to enter all the user id's, there are quite few of them.
it here instead of Vault's message board but Vault's one seems to be rather inactive.
PSE 9 does not find the new photos that I add to my windows folders. Previously it had found the photos, showed me the thumbnails and then imported them. It no longer does this. I am using Vista.
I have photos all over my numerous hard drives and I want to find and move them all to one central location where I can start to organize them. How is this done using Lightroom 5? Not just create a catalog but I want to actually move the file to one large hard drive.
Problem in my Inventor Fusion: as shown in the attached image, when I try to move a feature in my model, the X axis in the 3D Move/Rotate tool is not parallel with the true X axis of the model. I don't know how it got like that, but I would very much like to change it back.
Can I find photos by searching folder location, using Photoshop Elements 10? I used to use that method frequently inversion 5, but don't see how to do it in version 10. I am using Windows 7.
Lightroom 3.6 is not finding my newly exported .jpg files when I use Synchronize Folder. This has been working for me since I got LR many months ago, but today after I make adjustments to a .cr2 file and export the file to a .jpg file in the same folder, synchronize folder isn't finding the new .jpg files. Interestingly I used Windows Live Photo Gallery to copy/resize one of the .jpg files I'd exported, and LR *does* find that file, just not the originally exported one.
I recently found an error in my top level assembly which is that the origin axes x & z are pointing in the wrong direction (x-axis points in the negative x direction and the z-axis points in the negative z direction). how to "flip" the origin axes of an assembly?
Additional information: I have a top level lattice assembly that consists of a number of lattices (a part to which components are constrained) with the lattice origin planes constrained flush with the top level lattice assembly origin planes. This top level assembly is used in many other assemblies to constrain entire systems. Re-constraining my lattices correctly inside of the top assembly is infeasible.
Is there a way to set up batch plot so it saves the files on it's own? Right now I have to wait for the box with the name to pop up and then I hit OK and then have to wait for each file like that?
I found a setting and changed it from "Prompt for name" and changed it to "Specify Name" but that did not do the trick.
With ACDLT2010 is there a way to create 1 page setup and force it with one command to all SHEETS (Paper Space) or Multiple Files Model's prior to Batch Plotting a Project?
Reason i ask, is i regularly get files from other contractors, and they use different aspect ratio's / paper sizes / blah bleh blah. Manually going through and changing all the settings is time consuming and would be much easier if i can just pull up a list of drawing's and force a page setup to all pages.
I use Sheet Set Manager to create and output sheets. Typically I will setup the pages to 24x36 and set to output to our HP.
If I want to output to 11x17 pdf, I use a page setup override and it works fine.
What I would like to be able to do is add a watermark -- using transparent text -- that says "Not to Scale" across the print when I use the page setup override.
I'm having some problems with drawing paths in Illustrator. Everytime I draw a new path, this new path shows up in the standard settings. The 'brush defenition' turns back to 'basic' and the 'variable width profile' back to 'uniform'. It would save me a lot of time if I could change those standard settings into what I prefer.
