View 1 RepliesI have a Revit project with two different types of title blocks - one for Planning Board Submissions and one for Construction Documents. Is there a way of changing the title block family for a sheet from one family to another? I cannot seem to be able to do this without deleting the sheet and re-creating it with the new title block family.
I cannot just edit the family and reload it because, like I said, I need to maintain certain information on some sheets and different information on others.
I've created a Title Block Family and when I bring it into the project I want to be able to edit the text on the project without having to go into the Family and edit it from there, how do I do this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn Revit 2013 I attempt to load an item from the Family but I find that the “Load Family” dialog box does not appear. how to get it to cooperate? Even starting a new project the load family dialog box does not appear. I have done: 1) system restore, 2 ) repaired install, 3 ) re-installed, 4) uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch but still the problems persists on this machine. all other office PC’s with Revit 2013 behave.

The whole panel selection is not there. If I make a selection of at least two elements I get the load selection button on the modify tab. Is this as design or as forgotten?
At this moment it seems I first have to make a selection in order to load another selection.

I'm going through a tutorial on families (Paul Aubin) and have created a shelf w/ nested brackets that works as expected when flexed in the family editor. Any project I load it into shows it at its default configuration, but when I select it in the project and change it's type in the properties box, the configuration does not flex - it stays as inserted. It also shows my parameters in the properties box as individually modifiable.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have placed showers within various apartments. These apartments are groups. I have made a change to the family, (realigned a reference plane to be equal between two points). Now I reload the family into the project and no matter what I try, I cannot load it into the project without getting the ungroup error.
Prior to the warning, it states i need to delete a number of dimension references. Which I allow, then the group error appears telling me I still have constraint problems.
I thought it would be fine to dimension to families in groups, but it appears their is the potential for problems.
I am trying to load some family files from the autodesk family folder and some will load but some will not.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create a custom view title family for the office (see attached). We'd like to have a label for Drawing Type (ie. "Building Plan" in the attached image) in the view title which would appear in the properties tab under identity data, next to the standard Title on Sheet, View Name, etc.
In the project, I am able to create a project parameter which appears as desired in the properties tab, but am unable to add the parameter inside the family when creating it. It seems impossible to add this parameter to the standard view title family template (alongside Detail Number, Sheet Number, etc.).
I tried it using a Generic Annotation family, but in the project, Revit does not recognize that family as a view category family and therefore you cannot choose this family when setting your view type.
I am having a very strange issue that appears in the Materials editor within Revit 2013 Update Release 3. If I change a surface or cut hatch pattern within the editor, and then attempt to close out of the editor, go to a different material, or apply the change, the hatch dialog pops right back up again, as if I never closed it. I have found two ways to get out of this obnoxious loop:
1. Use the 'esc' key to back out of the materials dialog (unfortunately no changes are saved).
2. Change the color of the hatch - this allows for the changes to be applied etc.
I've tried resetting the UI and reinstalling Revit to no avail.

When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am creating a title block in Revit Architecture 2012. I am trying to create new labels for my title block and cannot seem to get it to work. I created a shared parameter and added the parameters I wanted to add to my title block. I chose the "common" discipline and the type of parameter as "text". I added these parameters to the label parameters I wanted to insert into the title block. When I do so they show up in the edit family, but when I load them into my project they don't show up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to get a filename label in the title block??
At the moment filepath label is used, but this path is too long for the small space we have.
I have only found 2 posts on this subject, but both are more than 5 years old.
Showing the “file name” on the title block,
I’m not sure if there is workaround to show the file name only WITHOUT the path. This option is avaible in the AutoCAD. have a look on the attached screenshots
How to create a 'No/Yes' or visibility parameter for a title block? I have my Architectural Seal as an image inserted into my title block family. I want to have that as a parameter for visibility so I can have it turned off until I am ready to print for final building department submission filing.
If possible, this would be a global adjustment so I would operate this parameter once and will affect all the sheets in the project instead of having two title block families and swapping those out at the time of filing.
I want to pin all our sheets in the lower left corner. We are using a parametric sheet with all the sheet sizes we need built in. The title block is placed in the lower right corner. Is there a way to keep the lower left corner in place (pin) and the tiltle block moving when changing sheet size?
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy company works the location map of the houses that built in AutoCAD, I need that map in my titble block in Revit, so I insert the CAD in the family of my title block, but is static, i can't move it, i need something like CropView that gave me the oportunity to hide part of the CAD.
I make the exercise inserting the CAD in a ceiling plan view of the project to have the flexibility of hide part of the map (Crop view), but only work if I inserted in one sheet not all that i have.
I’m wondering if there is a way to fill the values of all parameters of a title block for ALL sheets at a time. Are we supposed to fill out these parameters for each single sheet manually despite that fact that they are similar?Surely, I’m not taking here about the sort of information that differs from sheet to another like the “sheet name”
Why ALL the parameters of the title block are not shown in the properties dialogue box?
How to change the order of the sheets? Is there a way to move the sheet up and down?
Is there an automated way to re-numbering the sheets based on a given start value say A001?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to align a nested family to a reference line in my host family so that it rotates around a certain point.
I've created the reference line in my host family, locked the end point to two reference planes and then gave an angular parameter to the angle between the ref. line and the ref. plane.
I then inserted the nested family and aligned it to the ref. line. The problem is that when I flex the angle, i get a "Constraints not satisfied" error..
What could be wrong?
I'm using a generic face based family for both host and nested families...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two, seemingly identical, installations of AutoCAD LT 2012 on two machines in our office. Both machines have the MEASUREMENT variable set to 1.
The acadltiso.pat file of both machines has been customized with the addition of two hatch patterns and both of these work just fine.
In addition, the support folders of both installation also have identical sets of custom hatch patterns. On one of these machines thumbnails for these are visible and all works entirely as expected. However, on the other machine, none of these custom hatch patterns appear at all. In fact I cannot even see the custom hatch pattern tab!
I would like to import some new hatch patterns, that I have downloaded, into AutoCAD 2008. Where those hatch patterns need to go?
