View 1 RepliesHow to create a 'No/Yes' or visibility parameter for a title block? I have my Architectural Seal as an image inserted into my title block family. I want to have that as a parameter for visibility so I can have it turned off until I am ready to print for final building department submission filing.
If possible, this would be a global adjustment so I would operate this parameter once and will affect all the sheets in the project instead of having two title block families and swapping those out at the time of filing.
My company works the location map of the houses that built in AutoCAD, I need that map in my titble block in Revit, so I insert the CAD in the family of my title block, but is static, i can't move it, i need something like CropView that gave me the oportunity to hide part of the CAD.
I make the exercise inserting the CAD in a ceiling plan view of the project to have the flexibility of hide part of the map (Crop view), but only work if I inserted in one sheet not all that i have.
I am doing a five stories building and when ad the structural column with concrete cast in place material, the representation in plan view does not cover the block hatch of the wall. See attached image. I have read all about structural columns and did not find any solution.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working in a project where I need to represent the reflecting ceiling edges in the plan view. I put the first floor plan as underlay, and selected the RCP projection but I don't see the dropped ceiling lines to select them with the linework command. I have done every thing possible with the view range but I don't see the lines.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have our first project in Revit that we are having to split among multiple sheets because of the size of the building, so I have made 3 dependent views from the main overall view, named them, cropped them and placed each part (A,B, and C) on separate sheets. Now that I am trying to do enlarged toilet plan views, I want to tag the plans with the plan callouts on the 1/8” sheets that are the dependent views, but all the view tags are referencing dependent view A since it is the first dependent view in the list. If I change sheet A to be named Sheet X for instance, all the view tags now reference sheet B since that becomes the first dependent view alphabetically. I want them to reference the sheet they appear in, but I can’t seem to figure out how to do that, even though they are in different dependent views completely and within the crop region, they all default to the first dependent view in alphabetical order.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was curious, when creating multi sheet drawings, how can I place different information in the title block on each drawing?
Example, 2 pages, Description on page 1 = PAGE 1 DESC, by default this same description will show up on all subsequent pages. How do I get page 2 description to be different?
Inventor 2014 PDS
I'm trying to setup a title-block for everyone at my new place of business.
In this new job, 98% of our drawings are done in a single file with multiple layouts. I would like to set my template up so that things like Rev numbers and drawn by, and checked by etc., are updated in all layouts by changing just the first sheet. I also want to include a field for the drawn date so that it takes the current date (they want the drawn date to reflect the print date rather than the actual drawn date...)
I would like to incorporate attributes for things like checked by, engineer check, and such but make them so they don't appear unless you open the attribute editor.
The most efficient way of inserting a title block (the border around a drawing with text etc) into a layout? Sometimes when I insert a title block it seems like the title block is too big or too small for the layout .

I created a Title Block in Model Space with a Scale of 1:100. When I copy it with Base point and paste it in Layout Paper space it do not fit with the default paper space. What will I do?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have previously drawn my title block in Model space but i now know the correct way is to draw it in the layout.
Is there anyway of transporting the title block template into the layout and then saving that as a template for my future drawings?
Or do I need to go back to the beginning and draw the title block again from scratch in the layout and then save that drawing as a template for future use?
How to convert existing 2d autocad title block into Revit title block template?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn the title block of a my layout template I have tables inserted for revisions, drawing type, numbering etc. I have type already inserted in those blocks that I typically click on and then type in what I need it to say. My template works on all my other drawings except a particular one that I am currently working on.
When I click on the type, it automatically increases from 3/16" to 8" and enlarges the box to accommodate the new font size.
I've attached a screen. The top is before I click on the word "type" in the lower right corner and the bottom one is afterward.
I created and saved a title block as a .dwt file, with no problems. When I open my title block, I cannot get a 3D assembly drawing to show as a 3D drawing in the title block on the layout tab. If I transfer the title block to the model space, it rotates to the same usc as the assembly drawing?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMany times when I receive a drawing from an architect, when I go into the layout tab the titleblock info/XREF doesn't line up with the page layout. I would assume it lined up when the architect sent it to me in his software. For years the solution I use is to XREF the architects PDF in the layout and then go to print and change the Print Offset till it looked right in the print preview. Then I would apply it to the layout. I would then take the offsets and apply it to every sheet. This is a very time consuming process and was wondering if there is a better way to make this work and still keep the scales. I was also wondering if there was a way to move and align the layout on the fly in the paperspace.

i'm not sure if he's using revit architecture because he just refers to it as Revit 2014. i made a floor plan below the 0 mark but things will be tidier if i could make structural plan views.
I would like to ask if its possible to extract part of the drawing from modelspace then add title block in lay-out and scale the extracted drawing...how will i do that?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI need a routine that will duplicate the current sheet's Layout tab and content to the next tab, set it current, delete the titleblock (by name) on the new tab and reference in a differently named titleblock, 1:1, 0,0 onto the new Layout tab. I'll be running this in a batch script.

I'm currently looking into switching from Vectorworks to Revit due to a job application I'm being offered. What I really want to know is if the following floor plan is possible to make in Revit. I just want floor plans to be with color to better show the different things on it and make them more clear.
I also want to know if it is possible to show symbols in a plan view other than just a rendered hidden line view of the 3D part of it, so I can have a simplified version for the plan view and a detailed object for the 3D. Like you have a 2D-plan component for the plan views and e 3D component for all other views.
when I insert a window family the cut plane Revit uses is that of the family rather than that of the view. This causes a lot of problems for us when we need to cut the same window at different levels in different views and the window itself should look different. The window itself is built to look differnet at 3 ranges of cut plane height. However, if I try to control this throught yes/no visibility parameter it affects all views. I fail to make it view specific. Is there any way to make an instance parameter or view specific parameter for the cut plane/ visibility of parts in the window family. It is such a basic need for architects and I fail to understand its absence in the Revit. Generaly speaking one should be able to control what you see in each plan section view. It's an essential thing in architectural drawing.
