I am trying to move multiple elements from one workset to another.
Everyone on my team have synchronized and closed their file. I have made all worksets editable.However, I am still unable to change the workset.
These are three separate question :
1. When I link A revit model (having different worksets) into B revit model, We can control the worksets visibility at the time of linking. We can select any workset to be switched off and it will not be visibility in any view. Can we controll it after linking and on the basis of views, i.e. Can we switch off any single worksets of a link file in a particular view. My understanding is that We can't control worksets of a link file in our main revit model.
2. If A.rvt contains deisgn options. can we link those design options to design options in B.rvt, Can we set the visibility of a view in B.rvt to see desired design option from A.rvt. My understanding is that revit link does not contains design options information.
3. Similar rules applies with Phases. We can't link phases from A.rvt with phases in B.rvt, Also can not controll the visibility of phases of a linked revit model.Seeks experts comments to confirm my belief. What are the nearest possible work around for these issues.

I can't move down the wall foundation. (The highlighted piece.) What's the reason of it? The properties of the wall foundation doesn't have the offset feature.
Why would a window be movable by dragging but not movable by changing the temporary dimension? It's not pinned.
It works fine for the walls, but no matter what I put in the dimension value it won't budge the window an inch.
Is it an error in my family or is there something wrong with the project? I've been having a lot of problems with this one. I feel like it's all the funny angles, but the window and the door are in the same freaking wall so why should that matter?

The first level is fine however; the second level is set 1 foot too high. When I adjust the level elevation (drop it down by 1 foot), all of the elements associated with level two move with it. View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I try and change the thickness or move most walls in the project I get multiple room volume warnings that pop up, in some cases 80 odd. These rooms in question can be on the opposite side of the building (60 Meters) and 3 or 4 stories up from the altered wall. So there is no way that all room volumes are overlapping. I've checked all the room volume heights, level placements and that rooms are all bound fine, which they are. I just can't figure it out.
I've figured out a work around but this can be a little time consuming and a little bit fiddly. Ideally I'd like Revit functioning properly and not have to keep reminding my team about the correct way to approach a wall change every time 80 new warnings pop up.
I have heard through the grapevine that this may be a bug that occurs in 2012 due to "internal disputes" we are unable to upgrade to later versions of Revit.
I would like to move elements of that painting onto a separate layer. What is the best way to do this? An example of this would be a painting with the moon in a night sky. I might want to move that moon object into a separate layer.
My reason for wanting to do this is I want to change the background of the painting without worrying about doing fine details around the objects I am moving. A second benefit of moving the objects to a layer is that I can then easily move the location of those elements in the painting around, trying to reposition them.
can I get all of the elements I am moving onto a SINGLE layer AND still have the ability to move those elements around separately? If I want to move 10 elements in a painting to a separate layer, it is REALLY inconvenient to have to put those into 10 separate layers and constantly maintain naming of these different layers.
I have quit the program and restarted it. I have restarted the Mac and the problem is still there. None of my other program windows are stuck, just Elements.
It is too far to the left and it won't move over.
What governs the location/distance from the object of the "object move symbol" when an item is selected? See attached image. I have selected the blue view reference text but the four way arrow/move symbol is way below it. This isn't using the move command. The arrows can be hard to find in a crowded sheet if it's very far from the item selected.
For reference I have added an image showing the location of the object move symbol for a text item. It's in the upper left corner of the text outline.
I'm creating a window family by modifying a pre-existing one. One of the things I need to do is to move the reference planes defining the "left" and "right" edges of the window opening, so as to make to opening wider, but I'm not allowed to do it. The reference planes always move together, so that I'm stuck with a 3'-0" wide opening no matter what I do. I can't find any constraints linking the reference planes to each other or to a 3'-0" dimension - I can't find any constraints on them at all, in fact.
The file in question is attached. As I mentioned, the reference planes I'm concerned about are called "left" and "right". I have been able to move other reference planes in the file.
I want to move my horizontal hatch lines so they align with the top of my windows.

I would like to move entire objects - for example mass objects - up or down directly in a 3d view of random orientation, now only top- or bottom face can be moved vertically, the whole object moves only on xy -plane. What would cause lines to move left/right some seemingly random distance in an elevation view? Rarely, I run into an issue where detail lines and filled regions added to an elevation view (not text, or leaders) will move some random distance, I've attached a PDF showing the issue. No other elevations, plans, or sections have anything wrong with them. The model has not moved to a different position.
