I would like to export to dwg using my own layer standards. I see that you can load settings from file. it looks for a .txt file. how do I create a layer standard into a .txt file? is it something I need to do in CAD? how do I create an "export layer file (*.txt)" based on my office standards layering system

I am project coordinator on a work sharing project. As such I am responsible for family creation and Project Standards and need to have these items editable. I can select them all and make them editable but they always get changed back to none editable? How do I check these out until I relinquish them?

In Revit 2013 I attempt to load an item from the Family but I find that the “Load Family” dialog box does not appear. how to get it to cooperate? Even starting a new project the load family dialog box does not appear. I have done: 1) system restore, 2 ) repaired install, 3 ) re-installed, 4) uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch but still the problems persists on this machine. all other office PC’s with Revit 2013 behave.

When I click the import or load button the program appears to freeze and no dialog box appears. I can hit escape and its back to normal. I tried seeing if the dialog box was hidden behind all my open programs but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen in Bridge, after selecting 6 images (CR2) using the command TOOLS>LOAD FILES INTO PHOTOSHOP LAYERS the first file will load into Photoshop, Photoshop will then generate a second blank layer and then read the second file. At this point the "script" will stop. I am left with a document with 2 layers. The top layer has my first image, the bottom layer is empty.
At this point when I quit Photoshop I am prompted to save this open document which appears to be the only open document. I choose not to save this as a file. I then get a dialogue box prompting to save another open document. Photoshop has loaded the second file to place as a layer but as the "script" has aborted I am left with an open, but invisible file.
When I first loaded CS6 on Snow Leopard, it would demonstrate this behaviour every time I attempted to run this command from Bridge.I did a clean install on a blank HDD of OSX Lion. Installed CS6. The command worked without fail for about a month.
Then I would get the command aborting occasionally. Restarting Photoshop would let me continue for a few hours before this aborted script problem would happen again. Over the last week it has become more frequent, to a point where this workflow is unusable.
A restart of Photoshop may fix the problem for the next batch of images, only to fail again soon after, or fail on the first attempt after a relaunch of Photoshop. A reboot of my computer will allow my to load one or two sets of files before again failing to complete the command.
I have tried the following:
In Photoshop preferences:
disabling the "Use graphics Processor"
Increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM available to Photoshop
Changing the cache levels or changing the cache tile size
changing the scratch disk
Trashing the Photoshop preferences file (Photoshop Settings.psp)
In Bridge
Purging the cache
Increasing or decreasing the cache size
Resetting Bridge preferences (holding Command on launch) and deleting all cache files.
In general system
Quitting extra programs (Safari, Thunderbird, iTunes)
Sometimes this will seem to then allow Photoshop to load a full set of images, only to abort again after a few sets.
Rebooting the computer - again will work for a few images sets before again failing.
Now the fact that it worked fine for several weeks without presenting a problem would indicate that it is not a bug.The fact that is slowly started happening then became more frequent would indicate something changing slowly over time - a larger cache folder perhaps, although purging known Bridge cache folders has not filed the problem.
System is as follows:

OSX Lion 10.7.4
I have a number of dwg-drawings generated from layers in MapInfo. I need to load these drawings into separate layers to get the same layer structure as I had in Mapinfo. How do I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have created a psd file with 5 layers. each layer contains a plain un filled box of various sizes. I have created some actions to toggle the visibility of the layers. The layers represent TV format shapes (16:9 4:3 title safe etc). I want to be able to double click on a jpeg and for it to open in photoshop (ok I know how to do that in windows) as the background layer with the other layers I have already created and saved to a psd file on top. Is this possible?
Also. If I have the image with the layers open can I drag an image into it that becomes the background layer?
I am having a problem opening some larger revit models (100MB plus) in revit 2012 I will receive a message saying:
Insufficient memory for load. This computer does not have enough memory to open 'file name' in autodesk revit architecture 2012. Increase the available memory or contact Autodesk support for more information.
We are working on Windows XP SP3 with 3.23gb RAM. Now normally it would be as simple as upgrading the RAM on this machine to 4GB as specified in the system requirements for 2012, but a previous computer I was testing with only 2GB RAM was able to open these files without any issues (despite being a little slower).
The only difference I can see at this stage is the 3GB switch is enables in the 2gb machine.
I installed revit 2014 and uninstalled revit 2013. Now I can't load RFA files straight into my project.

So if we want to work with Revit we have to install RunAs and start Revit through RunAs with administrator rights.Students have a mandatory Active Directory profile and even if we give "power user" rights we get the same problem.
When I save a selection in the family editor I can't seem to find the load selection button on the manage tab like you would in the project environment. The whole panel selection is not there. If I make a selection of at least two elements I get the load selection button on the modify tab. Is this as design or as forgotten?
At this moment it seems I first have to make a selection in order to load another selection.

I'm going through a tutorial on families (Paul Aubin) and have created a shelf w/ nested brackets that works as expected when flexed in the family editor. Any project I load it into shows it at its default configuration, but when I select it in the project and change it's type in the properties box, the configuration does not flex - it stays as inserted. It also shows my parameters in the properties box as individually modifiable.

I have made a change to the family, (realigned a reference plane to be equal between two points). Now I reload the family into the project and no matter what I try, I cannot load it into the project without getting the ungroup error.
Prior to the warning, it states i need to delete a number of dimension references. Which I allow, then the group error appears telling me I still have constraint problems.
I thought it would be fine to dimension to families in groups, but it appears their is the potential for problems.
I am trying to load some family files from the autodesk family folder and some will load but some will not.

I have a PSD file with several layers that I need to convert into separate graphics for a webpage. I wanted to save all the individual layers as png files so I used the "export layers as file" script which took several hours and didnt finish over night. The PSD I'm working with is quite large, over 100 layers, 40MB. I tried to trim down the time by only converting visible layers and removing icc, but it's still taking forever. Is thier a faster way to do this process? I also tried the old copy, create new file and paste but for some reason the copy option is grayed out when I have a layer selected..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI took a .psd file (made by my coworker) and redesigned it. The problem is: he organized his layers so badly...made unnecessary clones. The design is a landing page for a website, now I want to send it to my web developer but he's a linux guy.
So on gimp he can't work on my .psd so well because of color formats. He asked me to cut all the images and turn them to .png. Hence I needed to run File> Script > Export Layers to files once that done I got too many similar .png as you can see (consequences of bad layers organization?)
Do I need to delete unwanted/similar images to make my web dev work easier? Last thing I saw that -in the export layers to files panel properties- transparency and trim boxes was checked and I set it to PNG24.
When exporting files to layers is there a way to get rid of the prefix (_0000_ , _0001_ , _0002_ ...etc.) after exporting?? I obtained a script from someone on this site before for PS7 which did not do that.

Now I'd like to know, if there is a way (action?) to export every layer as a single jpg. My goal ist to add filters to every single jpg (with batch processing) and render them into a new movie.
The 'Export layers to files' script is extremely helpful to me. I would like to be able to add a logo to each layer before it is saved which I cannot figure out how to do. The script saves the layer as is so an adjustment layer type solution does not work. I took a look at the javascript and I don't know enough to start calling other .psd's merging and closing them in the middle of the script.
I get what I need to do by loading up the saved jpg's after running the script and running an action on them to add the logo and resave, but this is a bit of a pain when there can be a hundred plus layers.
