I have a 3D view that for the life of me I can not turn off the transparency in, like wise I have several Interior elevations with this same problem.
Nothing is overwrote as being transparent in view/ VG/ Model.
Use Hardware Acceleration (Direct3D) is not selected.
I just tried the pdf export of a multipage document. When I open it in Reader or Acrobat I see a grid where the page is not covered (transparency grid?). It has nothing to do with the Reader feature - the grid is in the pdf (I can see it with Pitstop in wireframe mode). Can't find where to turn it off.
View 16 Replies View RelatedSo, when Adobe introduced the "brush preview" when using the Control+Option drag to change the brush size/hardness (not sure if it's called this way), I was ecstatic! It made my workflow much faster without having to go to the menu to change the brush size or to the bracket keys. Now on CS6 they added a feature that basically broke that for me. Now it not only shows the size/hardness, but it also shows the transparency. It sounds like a great idea, and it is when you work with bigger opacities, but I work a lot with opacities below 10% and it basically becomes invisible, so it's hard to know if I'm using a hard/soft brush when adjusting the brush size. Is there a way to turn just the transparency preview off?!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a set of four images I am referencing into a drawing through the data connect feature found in Planning and analysis that overlap. I am running Civil 3D 2013. I would like to be able to clip the images as well as turn off the transparency but I can't seem to figure out how. If you select the images cadd thinks it is an image referenced outside of Data connect, but the clipping tool doesn't work, and it doesn't even matter if you de-select print transparency in the page setup, it still prints transparent. Is there another set of commands or tools that I am not aware of that allows you to edit an image brought in through the data connect?

You can only hide it totally or let it be non transparency?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt appears transparency overide (by element or by category) won't be printed from any floor plan views in Revit 2013. Tried elevation/ section/ ceiling plans. all ok. it seems to me that is a bug.
The work around is to switch the view to wireframe.
Can you make a halftone hatch? Or a region where you can adjust transparency?
For example in plan view. I want to add a filled hatch region there but also want to let objects behind the hatch to be visible too.... halftone.
In printing the hatch region becomes non-halftone, I think? Or is there somehow possible to remain it? Greyscale printing perhaps?
Is it possible to control if the door tags is displayed by the schedules?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm doing as-builts of a historic structure and the walls are very slightly out of alignment with the x-y axes. Whenever I'm drawing something that's nearly (but not quite) horizontal or vertical, Revit forces it to be aligned to x-y axes. I don't want that but don't know how to turn it off so that it snaps only to my crooked geometry.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am trying to tag doors in a drawing. What I want to see is the door size, so I turn on 'width' parameter, and turn visibility off on the border of the text. Change the size of the text to match, easy enough. Now I want to place the text along the open door in the floor plan view, but the tag always jumps to the center of the door frame. Can this be modified to do as I want? is there an alignment parameter I can alter? Perhaps tagging the door family and aligning it in the family editor? Does Revit is capable of doing this. Until then, I have to place the text for each individual door.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI do not see a way to control visiblilty of a raster image (jpeg) in a family (titleblock) that is in a project. I want the ability to turn off a stamp before plotting. R-2012. Raster images in model categories did not work. Adding a parameter in the titleblock family under 'Lock Proportions' did not work. (Other elements that use these same parameters to turn on/off visibilty were available there.)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using Revit Architecture 2012 and I am trying to create a Room Tag. I have attached the file below. I want the tag to read the room name and the room dimensions. Then I would like an option to turn "Unfinished" on and off. I can get this to work as long as it is a type parameter. When I load it into the project it works well and everything is there. But if I change it to an instance parameter (which is what I want) then when I load it into the project the option to turn the "Unfinished" on and off has disappeared.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have updated my RFA library to RY2013 (from RY2011, RY2008 before).
Inside Revit (full, Bulilding Design Suite), the preview pane of the "edit type" window shows for the updated component families the sun path circle centered in a position which is far from the insertion point of the component, always got as intersection of 3 strong reference planes with "define origin" checked. Because of this, the preview of the component is not immediately available and several zoom in operations are needed to give a look to the component. This is the case for 3D views and plan views.
The sun path cannot be turned off and also the origin of the sun path cannot be moved inside the family file.
Any solution for the single component family?
Is there a way to batch turn off the sun path circle in every view of each family of the library and also to move the origin of the sun path circle to the insertion point of the family?
How do I turn on/off wall elements in my plan view? I'd like just the core structure to show for dimensioning purposes and turn off the sheathing etc.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I make my rooms for a building, I want them to be a specific distance from the previous wall, say 10'. But when Revit measures the walls, it measures from the center line of the wall and not the edges. How do I correct this so it is measuring from the nearest edge so I'm not constantly having to think about how thick the wall was on each side and manually add 5 inchs or whatever it is in order to get a solid 10' room.
Also, when placing rooms, I have found that the program keeps making the reference distances from points halfway across the house. For example, if I want to make a room 10'x 10', and go to place the top wall of the room. If there is another wall across the hall or something that may intersect if you extend an imaginary line, the reference dimensions won't be 10' from the bottom wall, but it would be something like 4' 5 7/16" from that other room that has nothing to do with the wall I'm trying to place. Does that make sense? How do I turn off or control the meaningless reference points?
I recently opened a project I worked on months ago and noticed certain materials in my rendered images had turned blue. I created a new rendering in which all materials came out great and I saved it. Minutes later I opened the new rendering and it too became blue. I worked on this project for months and have not made any changes to materials. All previously saved images in my file, the wall materials, stairs, and certain furniture have all turned blue.

The workaround to hide "glass" by using "overriding visibility" is not possible for us because some of our families and project families are using glass-materials inside (Showcases f.e.).

I would like the two pictures to blend in the middle from left to right.
The picture on the left will be sharpe on the left side but fade/transparent by the time it reaches the middle.
The picture on the right will be sharpe on the right side but fade/transparent in the middle.
I would think I need a gradient transparency (you always have to use a color)
I see pictures like this all the time, but can not seem to find the correct feature or combinations of features.
20110421veiwports turning off.jpg AutoCAD isnt being nice to me lately another hassle i have is the viewports randomly turn off ( they dont show anything) and when i turn those ones on, others turn off.
i dont know how to change the topic to "solved" however a collegue told me to enter MAXACTVP at the command line the value was 16, i was told to set it to 64 ( i had 21 viewports ) and they all came on.
In Coreldraw there is a transparency tool which allows you to merge one photo into another - not like layers on top of each other, but overlapping along the edges, so that the outer edges of each pic are unaffected, and the central area is like a mixture of each pic. You could do something similar in Photoshop elements using the Gradient tool, but the gradient tool in CS2 doesn't seem to work the same way.
At the moment, I'm having to join/blend two pics in Coreldraw, save the result as a jpeg, and then open the resultant file in CS2 to continue working.
In Coreldraw the little tool is called 'Transparency'-'Fountain' I can't believe CS2 can't do something similar.
How do I make a background transparent? For example I made a document with just my name...Kim. I don't want there to be a rectangular/square or ANY kind of background...just that word, nothing around it, nothing behind it. How do I do that? Before you answer...
I've tried it by putting the document settings at "background>transparent". But when I came across it in my documents folder, it had a background around it. I've thought about selecting the word, and putting it onto a new, "transparent" document, but it doesn't seem to me that would help if it doesn't work when you set the background to transparent on the ORIGINAL and having it not turn out. Don't know what to do??
how do i take a picture that has a background color and make the background transparent. or copy, cut the pic and transfer to a transparent background. i need to make some renders for my site.
