Is there any way to separate a sweep into all its adjoining pieces? I really want to get all the pieces and their miter angles in order to dimension properly, in order to make an assemble manual.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to create an adaptive family (a concrete bleacher/bench) that mitres to its adjoining instances when placed in a project (see attached images).
The family is not acting as I intend it to when loaded into the project (bottom right image). I've created six adaptive points which are intended to correspond to refeence points in the project.
I think the problem has to do with the faces of the extrusion, they don't seem to be able to align to an angled reference plane. How the extrusion can expand/contract in a linear fashion and have ends that mitre adaptively?
We have 1 machine in the office that when using super hatch it will not "hatch" the entire area as one hatch, it breaks it into separate image based pieces. The rest of the office, it hatches as one entity so it can be changed easily. Even if we use the group command, it will not group them.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a frame created as a sweep in a door family - but for some reason it always shows in blue linework, even when not selected. If this is to highlight an error or other issue with the model ?
It seems to have appeared after I deleted the cut opening outline and replaced it with a couple of Void Extrusions (to allow me to control the wrap of the plaster finish and not have it impact on the structural opening size).
The frame does sit within an extrusion void, but it is not selected to cut it.
I making a glass panel with a metal trim for a bank window teller family. How do I control the lineweights for the metal profile?
It seems by default wide lines are being used. I don't see an option in the family editor to pick thin lines.
I have applied a material to a wall sweep, but whenever the sweep turns a corner the material flips upside down.Note that the frieze is supposed to be on top.

I have a wall type that has an embeded sweep for the wall base. My project is set up in two phases, existing and new work. A door has been created in the existing phase, and demoed in the new phase. Where the door has been demolished an infill with the base appears, great! In the new phase I inserted a larger door that cuts the existing walland the entire infiil from the demolished door, but the base still remains. How do I get the new door to cut the base that was created as a result of the infill?

1 - Creating a wall style with the sweep.
2 - Added a host sweep.
The problem is that using either method or a combination of both methods doesn't always work. I still end up with some caps that don't miter correctly even after editing. Sometimes, different intersections will miter and others won't.
While working in the conceptual mass environment, I have inserted a closed profile (1 polyline) from a dwg file.
What I need is to either extrude or sweep this profile as a surface, but obviously Create Form only gives me the solid option.
How do I go about doing this?
Im working in Revit 2010. Im trying to set up a Steel RHS family/types based on a sweep, see attached. Loaded into the family and used in creating the sweep is a profile family with different RHS size types. Is it possible to change the sweeps profile type using a parameter from within RHS family types?
I assume its not possible (unlike driving a nested component using a family type parameter from within the project.)

I developed a handrail extension that turns down and terminates on top of the stringer and I'm having some trouble controlling the "bend" to get a smooth arc for all angles. Is there away of aligning or constrining the arc in the sweep path to achieve this?

I would prefer to avoid detail lines or Filled region to get the tiles shown as I need to schedule and quantify this element.
When preparing an assembly for export to a Revit family, all features need to be recognized as Revit features. I have a part which consists of a sweep with a 3D path, 2 planar sketches projected to a 3D surface to be precise. To make matters worse, it's a sweep whose end meets it's own beginning (the intent of this specific model is to just satisfy a shape, not necessarily reflect the way it's going to be produced). To date I have not found a way to have this sweep feature recognized as a Revit feature, be it as a single feature or multiple. I am running Inventor Professional 2014 on Windows 8 64-bit.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am attempting to model an internal 1/8"-27 NPT thread, both the through hole and the tapered part of the hole are modeled, but after I draw the helix and the polygon and orient the polygon to the helix correctly, (or even if I don't, I have tried it) it keeps saying unable to sweep object. I am using Sweep with Alignment with the No option. If I select the polygon first, then click sweep, it works, but rotates the polygon so that what I get ends up looking nothing like a thread profile.
I have tried reducing the polygon radius down to a ridiculously small value, thinking it might have been interference due to a possible trig miscalculation, but with no success, still have the same issue. FYI, I am using a .037" turn height for 27 TPI and a polygon radius of .0214", with a helix small end radius of .177" and large end radius of .189".
I need to make a sweep along the edge of the wall opening shown in the project, but Revit does not allow me to do it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRibbon has been acting strange. One example is when creating a sweep the ribbon will not show the mode options to accept or discard changes while creating the sweep path. I have to cycle the ribbon display options to show the X and check options to complete the sweep path. This is only one example of many different odd things happening.
Sometimes when I am simply drawing model lines the selection options for rectangle, circle etc do not appear until I cycle the ribbon display options. This only started in the last week or two.

(XDPX9) - Can't seem to get it to react. I followed both variations of how it's done...
1. Drag the adjoining X & Y at the top left corner of the ruler.... dragged down. Nothing.
2. Page properties - Grid and ruler tab... changed the Y Coordinate. Nothing again.
Made sure 'page' is not 'locked'. All pages same size. Been at it for over an hour and have decided I'm either missing something or maybe I found a bit of a bug?
My page is 'custom' size.... Landscape 1000X600
Any way to get a wall sweep that's set up in the type/structure properties to follow a wall if that walls profile has changed. For example, in the image below, I've split the wall and adjusted it's profile to create some cheesy angled parapet. How do i get my wall cap to follow along? I thought splitting it and changing it's height would work, but no. And if I change the profile without splitting the wall the wall cap just runs right through the wall, as if the profiel was never even changed.

When I use the crop tool, it takes one piece and deletes the rest... Somebody told me to make a duplicate image and crop that way, but how will I know I'm cropping in the right place?
