I notice red cursor jumping back and forth as I play to edit in open project - did not do this before.What can I do?
i recently dragged the Premiere pro cc icon to my apps folder - could this have introduced a time /rendering delay?I think the sound has also become lower!
My timeline (no sequences). It does not have columns on the left handside. It does not have a slider on the bottom of the box. It is useless.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI'm making a video with Premiere Pro CS5.0 in Windows 8.1, from footage from an HD camcorder with a 5.1 microphone. When I make the basic sequences, the 5.1 sound is preserved. My New Sequence Settings include: Master track type:5.1, Mono tracks:0, Stereo tracks:0, 5.1 tracks:1, Submix tracks: all zero.

However, when I create a Master sequence (same settings) and drop a basic sequence onto it, the sound appears onto a new Audio 2 Stereo track, although the initial Audio 1 and Master tracks are showing as 5.1.
I recorded video on a Black Magic Cinema Camera (BMCC), which has legendary video quality but an awful on-camera microphone with tinny recording process, and recorded audio on a Zoom H6 which has great low-noise, more bits and greater sampling rate capability.

In Premiere I made a Sequence containing the video footage, then added the H6 audio and synchronized it by waveform to the BMCC's audio, which I subsequently muted. I call this a Source-Sequence, as it is intended as a virtual source media item, to be cut into one or more Edit-Sequences (my term).

Not "holding my breath" but trying it anyway, in Premiere's Project/Bin pane, I selected that source-sequence then did RightClick > Analyze Content. Teasingly, that option was not greyed-out. However all options in the the resulting popup-dialog were greyed-out.

In this situation, to be useful, the speech analysis would need to be available to Sequences, not just to (Master) Clips. Obviously one could render such a sequence to intermediate but that would waste time and disk space and would essentially freeze the state of the Source (e.g. including any sync issues that might be discovered later, or whole-source color corrections issues etc.). If one subsequently altered that state, a re-render, re-link and re-analysis would be required. If a Souce-Sequence were used instead, and no alteration had been made to the audio (or if user indicated "don't care"), then there would in principle be no need for re-analysis.
We are working in a shared storage environment with 4 editors runnig Premiere Pro CC. We set up a Master Project with all the raw media, then split it between 2 editors to sync and create rough assemblies. Afterwards, we need to import the assembly sequences into the master project. I select a bin, Import a project file, select "Selected Sequences", Dynamic Link shows that it's connected to the project, then it takes 10+ minutes (I wish this were an exaggeration) to "load" to project so that I can choose the sequence(s) I want to import. This is even more frustrating when I import a sequence and it brings in duplicate Master Clips, forcing me to go back to the project and figure out what has change with the interpretation of the clips. Is there any way to speed this process up? Projects contain 5000 - 10,000 media elements.

But here's my problem. In the beginning, editing in After Effects CC and Premiere CC was smooth as butter.However, lately, especially Premiere has started giving me issues.

At the moment, I'm editing to 1080p footage, in h.264 format. There's a few effects on it, such as an overlay 720p footage, using Red Giant Looks twice (on one adjustment layer, and on the footage itself), and some other minor stuff like curves and such.

The effects don't seem to matter much though. Even if I play back the footage with no effects at all, playback is still choppy.

I have playback set to 25% size, and 1/4 resolution, and I still only get what I would guess is around 5-10 frames per second. Sometimes it drops completely, down to just 1 or 2 frames per second. Heck, at times it just doesn't update at all for a few seconds.

When I check my CPU usage, everything is fine. It hasn't reached max at all. RAM is still PLENTY (usually around 20gb left), and it seems that both harddrives (Premiere is running on the SSD and the files used are on another harddrive) aren't maxed out either in capacity.

This isn't JUST Premiere, as I said, I've seen a decline in After Effects performance as well.

As you can see, apart from a few spikes here and there, none of them seem to be having issues with capping out. RAM is sitting at a steady 30% usage.
I'm new to Premiere Pro CS6,I thought I had a pretty powerful computer all things considered. Basically, what's happening is the moment I put any sort of basic video effects on a clip, (e.g. "brightness & contrast" or "fast color corrector") the video playback (but not the audio) becomes extremely choppy and laggy. Playback and overall performance are excellent before I put effects on. It's just the moment I put some on it slows down tremendously.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf I create multiple sequences within a project, and 'reset current workspace', only the sequence tab currently selected will remain (at least, this is the case when I save and reopen the project). I tend to sync video and audio on the timeline in one sequence, and build an edited scene in another, so I lose either the synced rushes or the scene-in-progress.

I find a lot of date metadata fields but none of them work for sequences. Im in 7.2.1
We have an iMac workstation here running Premiere that will not open projects or import clips. Here's the sequence of events that led to this:

1. Premiere was locking up on the splash screen whenever it got to "ImporterQuicktime.bundle". I tried trashing preferences and launching with plug-ins disabled and received the same freeze. Based on forum recommendations I removed "ImporterQuicktime.bundle" and "ExporterQuickTimeHost.bundle" from the plug-ins folder inside the package. The software launched fine - but none of the Quicktime files in the project were working. So I then took copies of the above 2 files from the iMac next to this one, with the exact same configuration, and pasted them into the plug-ins folder. Since then - launching the software has generated the below errors.

2. Attempting to open any project gives a long error that starts as: The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located.

3. Starting a new project and attempting to drag any Quicktime ProRes media into the project gives the error: File Format not supported.

I have trashed the preferences, re-installed the Pro Apps Quicktime Codecs, de-authorized the computer and re-authorized it, and upgraded Adobe Premiere from 7.0 to 7.2. None of which fixed the issue.

I'm thinking about trying a complete re-install of Premiere next.Â

. I have CS6 Pro and my video is very choppy. I used to edit in Sony Vegas and my videos play fine there. I wanted to step up and edit with a more advanced editor and it doesn't work!!! Here is what I do. Shoot with GoPro 3, take the video to GoPro Studio and make a MOV. file to remove fisheye. Take the MOV. file and edit it with Premiere. It plays smooth for 3-5sec then starts to stutter. My specs on my computer are:

Again my Sony Vages $70 program can edit without any problems but I am stuck with CS6!!!!
After rendering a few clips in my timeline for playback, my video tracks are no longer playing back. The timeline time marker plays, the time counts, and the audio playback is working correctly, but the video stays on the frame in which playback started, and does not move change until pausing playback.
View 2 Replies View RelatedStarted using premier pro I have imported some video and all looks fine but when you hover cursor over the video it plays the video with a gradient map effect even though an effect has not been added. when you place video into the timetime the video preview playes with this effect also but when I have exported video the video is exported as normal without this effect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a short 5min film for a student film fest, all the audio and visual plays perfectly in the timeline. However, when exported, the last audio clip (which is a 'button' and comes after two soundless title slides) does not play at all. Again, it works perfectly in timeline. All audio files are .WAV and I've tried exporting it in several different fashions, none of which have made a difference.

For the film fest I need to export in 16:9, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ). I tried this, among regular Quick Time export, Vimeo export, and others...every single export the audio on the 'button' didn't play at all but the clip is there.
Side Note: I tried adding low volume audio to bridge the last clip to the button to see if that made a difference so there would be no gaps in the audio timeline, but it did nothing.
After importing my mp4 video into Premiere Pro, the audio plays perfectly, but the video is out of sync and plays as if though it's in slow motion.I've been using this software for about 4 months and have encountered this problem within the last few weeks.

We need to make a customised projects and sequenses where 20 small movies are shown on the screen at the same time. Full screen has a solution on 2560 x 1120 px. Each small movie has a solution on 1280 x 112 px. The 20 movies filles up the total screen. Is this posible and an eacy thing to do in Adobe Premiere Pro?

Unfortunately my PC at work is slow, so I want to continue working on the project on my home PC. Uploaded the needed files with Sugarsync, went home, but when I open the project here all the video files only play audio.

So I know the files CAN display video, so it must be something to do with my home computer and CS5 install? I tried reinstalling PP CS5, no change. Is there a setting I may have accidentally disabled at home to force audio only?
I started a project and watch a lot of files in the source monitor to set IN and OUT points. When the file playes f.e. more than a minute the sound gets muted while the film is still running. First I thought it wood be a matter of my external HD from where I loaded the files. Now that I take the same or any other files from my internal sata 3 harddrive the behaviour is still the same.

When i scroll the mouse wheel to move some frames back and forth the sound is back when i hit the space bar. It's the same if i just hit the space bar once to pause and then hit it again to resume.

I am quite sure that some months ago this behaviour was not present. I did not change anything on Premiere CS6 but running the updates.
Have reinstalled Premiere Pro 6.0.5 because I cannot drag Audio Transitions or Effects to any Timeline sequences in my Projects. Have tried modifier keys, but to no avail.

I want to have it to where I can have both of my stop motion sequences playing in the same frame, side by side. I have a sequence of my character doing one thing on side, and another one doing something different, and I want to mash them together to look like they happened at the same time. View 5 Replies View RelatedI have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.

There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.

Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.

P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.

I've been playing around with digital film with chromakey lighting and Adobe After FX post production & compositery techniques.
I now what to continue to develope this stylisation with big 3D digital sequences.I'm in at the deep end but a fast learner..I've got a great TRON scenes tutorial kit which uses MAYA and I've got some great 3D models (landscapes, trees, vehicles etc) but they only seem compatible with 3D Max, not Maya...
What are the main objectives of each suite MAYA and MAX 3D? For example why is my TRON template kit MAYA based, not MAX 3D.How do i make my files universal... for example I require a dragon, what model / file format is compatible for both packages?
I've also seen nice animation results with Blender 2.57... Are these file formats compatible with Maya and 3D Max.
I want to create a file with image sequences; not a video file, a long png file. Example: I have 10 jpeg or bmp images, each image needs to sit at the side of the last image in a line, so instead of stacking the images one on top of the other as the Scripts > Load into a stack would do, I would have 10 images side by side, abit like the three images below but butted up to each other on the right-hand side. Is it possible to automate this task?Is there a script already made for this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe audio sounds choppy and I cannot figure out why Im getting it. I'm experimenting with Corel VS to learn how to use it. IF I use audio files ripped from a CD I get choppy audio after the project is rendered to a wmv hd 1080p file. It sounds fine during the preview playback in the project though.
Music that I have downloaded from the web does not do this. I assume I am doing something wrong when extracting audio from disks? I am just using Windows Media Player to RIP the CD's with. Should I use something else?
I just started using the new x4 version of VS and I noticed the playback on the preview window is very choppy. I have Pinnacle Studio HD, Sony Vegas Pro & of course Premiere CS5 installed to compare between them all, and don't have that problem, even with effects or anything added. Is there an option somewhere I'm missing? I've tried different video types and it doesn't seem to matter. The main one I'm trying is a 1280x720 AVI file I recorded.
Checked and unchecked the "Hardware Acceleration" ticks, no difference either way.
Checked DirectX....up to date.
Checked graphics drivers...up to date.
I just purchased Pro X4 online and the audio and video is choppy when I try to edit the video. I thought it was just my computer, but when I burned a DVD yesterday, it also came out incredibly choppy.

Anytime I draw a wall at a 45 or 22.5 it is choppy and not smooth. tried everything but can't figure it out.
