I'm making a video with mostly titles. I have found the video transitions to be very choppy, so I've opted to control the opacity fade of each individual title, creating keyframes that move from 0%-100% then back 100%-0%. This simulates a nice fade from black, fade to black effect. However, when i do this all of the text in my titles pixelates.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to fade some text from 100% opacity to 0% over 45 frames, and end my layer when it gets to 0, (Thus making it dissapear?). My text stays there with 0% opacity (Slightly visable), untill the next layer begins.. I don't understand why I can see it when the layer it's on has ended. I preview it with audio using num 0.
This has happened to me multiple times and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Some of my text fades and dissapears normally, but I don't understand what's different about it. I'm probably doing lots wrong, but I'm pretty new and you have to start somewhere! This is also my first post, hope it's in the right forum.
I'm trying the demo version of MotionStudio 3D. So far it looks very powerful and much easier to use than Graffiti. It allows you to export a project directly to the timeline in Video Studio. I wanted credits superimposed over another scene and I wanted the credits to fade in and fade out. So I put the exported titles onto track 2 in VS. I set the allignment options in VS to "fit to screen." The middle part of the clip where transparency=0 looks great. But the beginning and end, where transparency=100, instead of the title being disappearing, it turns black.
If that doesn't work, is there a way I can use VS to accomplish the same fade-in / fade-out of something on track 2? You can specify transparency for the clip on track 2, but that appears to be just one value for the entire clip, not something you can modify with keyframes.

I use titles a lot with VS x4 and have a couple of questions. I often use the backgrounds available in VS x4 under the titles to add style and make them more visible. I usually fade up to the title and fade back out again. However, when I do this, the title itself fades fairly smoothly but the background looks terrible. Is there any way to get titles and backgrounds to fade in/out together s-m-o-o-t-h-l-y?

Watch the background for "Just a Good Read"... as the title fades off at the end of this title sequence, the background doesn't fade -- it just sort of snaps off. I really like the background but want it to fade in/out smoothly with the title.
Another question about titles: Is there any way to group title elements together so that they become one object? I created a complex title with lots of little elements such as dashes. However, when I move any one element, the others don't move, and lining them up again is a pain. Can I associate these items to create a single object in which everything is moved (and for that matter, sized) together?

Although the title still shows up as a purple clip, and is still in the same location in the project explorer, it is no longer able to be edited, but instead plays like an AVI file. Also, it seems the underlying video and title have been merged into one clip on the timeline instead of two overlapping clips.

I need to fade a music track in and out but I'm not able to add keyfrmaes with the pen tool. And the Add Keyframe button next to the audio track in sequence is greyed out.

View 20 Replies View RelatedCross dissolve will not fade out clips correctly. It gets down to 10-15% opacity on the last frame and that's the lowest it goes. During playback, you can see how abrupt the fade is.
Ticking the "Composite in Linear Color" sometimes improves it, but it's still not a smooth fade. Why is it that I can manually add opacity keyframes to fix this problem (regardless of "comp"), but cross dissolve cannot do a smooth fade?
The following are screenshots of the last frame before the clip ends. The cross dissolve is 30 frames long.My system is i5, 560GTX, CUDA enabled, PP CC 7.2.1, Windows 8.1.

With a white background, comp enabled is a bit better, but you can still see the content. I'd expect another frame or two before a complete fade. Black background, last frame, Composite not enabled:

Oddly enough, after adding and deleting opacity keyframes and switching comp on and off, I managed to get a nice smooth fade with comp OFF with the above example. Some kind of bug? View 1 Replies View RelatedAs you can see by the image below, my menu bar titles at the top are small and blurry, plus anywhere there is a text field box (i.e. length & width text fields in the Image Size window) it is collapsed vertically and therefore I can't see what my values are. You can also see the 3 check mark boxes at the bottom of the Image Size window are cut off. I previously had CS6 installed on a Window XP machine without any issues. Now that I have "upgraded" to Window 7, this is what I get for results after the install.

- I can highlight each signature individually and save each one as a separate .bmp
- Opening the signature in photoshop (CS3) the picture looks great when it's big! I can print from photoshop and it looks marvelous on paper.
- When I size it down to the size that I need (W:120 H:45 pxls) it looks like crap when it's printed (which is what the signatures are for). They are very pixelated.
Is there anything I can do, to take a gorgeous large .bmp and turn it into a gorgeous small .bmp?
It does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in. I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet.
I'm trying to put a picture (subject on a plain background) on a grid, with the picture being pixelated enough to match the scale of the grid, but I'm getting stuck trying to keep the detail of the picture as the grid step gets larger. (see below) Sounds impossible, but i know i'm getting caught up in the maths somewhere. Is there a way to manipulate the picture to get the detail in the bottom pic to transfer to the larger grid step of the top pi without changing the size of the grid?

I'm trying to fade text from top to bottom using a path I have always followed, but isn't working now:
1. Select the layer the text is on
2. Create Fill or Adjustment Layer > select Gradient from the drop-down menu
3. Click on the Gradient bar to bring up the options
4. Adjust opacity, direction, colour > OK
When I create the Fill or Adjustment layer and select Gradient, the gradient is applied to the whole document rather than just the text on the layer I've selected.
My text is white against a blue background..I have tried selecting the gradient "Foreground to Transparent", but can't get past the stage where that is applied to the whole document.
i use photoshop cs5.1 and want to fade the background of text, not all the picture but only back side of text.

I'm attempting to take a gif file of my son's schools mascot, an indian chief, and make it large enough to be digitized & then embroidered onto his new Varsity Jacket. The gif is purple with a translucent background. When I attempt to place it, it gets a white pixelated boarder around the purple art work. Not sure if this is normal. My worry is that when I send it to the folks embroidering it, that they'll enlarge the photo & they'll also get this white nasty boarder & it will turn out awful.
So, I've got 2 problems, we want the Indian chief embroidered in white & it is purple now. When I enlarge the file in purple, it looks great to the 10 inch size file I'm placing it on. However, when I try to change it to white in the 10 inch size, it shows this rough pixelated looking boarder. In fact, no matter what size it is, it always shows this white boarder.

In the animation I am working on, I need an object to instantly go from 100% opacity to 0% opacity. The problem is, even if you use the opacity of the layer as a keyframe, the object will not instanlty vanish, even if it is only on for the timeruler for a quick amount of time.
I need a tool that will drop from 100% opacity to 0% instantly.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an image (1200mm x 1200mm) very sharp and crisp. (A photo that i have worked on and has lots of detail) I drag this image onto a canvas size of 150mm x150mm - and the image loses all of its sharpness. It is not apparent until i zoom in to see the detail. (PSE10) I'm sure that there is a box somewhere to tick..........but i cannot find it.
when i drag it over, it is still the large size, so i grab the grips/handles and shrink to fit, then it pixelates?
I have animated text where some words are black at 50% opacity and some words are white at full opacity. They are on a textured background. I need to give the other editors a version of the text married to the background and one that is just text with an alpha. When I export it and bring it into Premiere, the "married" version looks fine, but the black in the version of the text with alpha appears more transparent. I can fix this by changing the blend mode to Hard Light or Luminosity, but this alters the color of the white text slightly (and I should note that the blend mode in AE was normal). I can of course work around this by exporting my black and white text separately.
