Photoshop :: My Filter Photocopy Is Not Working
Feb 16, 2008how to make coloring pages from own photos for my son to color. It has worked fine. First I import my picture and create a duplicate layer. Then I go to Filter>Sketch>Photocopy to ajust detail and darkness...and all I have is a white screen...nothing to ajust. WHY is it not working...I have the same problem with some other filters too but not all of them.

Nov 8, 2012Used a sketch photcopy filter on a picture and then made changes (text, clone stamp) to the picture after applying the filter. Now in putting new photos through the filter, the photos stay too light even with the darkest settings. How do I make it go back to normal?

Jun 7, 2006I recently received this poor-quality Xeroxed scan (below) as a PDF, and was asked if I could enhance it to show the names written on the pages. Does anybody know of a way to improve the quality of this image so the names are more legible (original image size is 8x11)? The image is of a logbook of prisoners interned at Buchenwald concentration camp in 1944; my friend's father's name is on the left page, about halfway down. The quality is actually much better in PS than what is displayed here. If need be, I can email you the original PDF, if that'll help.

Jun 20, 2012In previous versions of Illustrator, I could take a fill object ..with any color applied, and add the photocopy effect. This was a great tool to use, to illustrate and give texture to large patches of colors, which I used all the time in our site plan renderings (gras lawn effects).
Now in version CS4, when I go t oapply the photocopy effect to a fill, it automatically drops the color and changes the object to black and white. This defeats the purpose of being able to apply an effect to a colored object if the setting returns the color to BW. Not sure if I have something clicked wrong somewhere in Illustrator.. or is some programmer actually made this change...
I need to apply effects to colored fills.... especially the photocopy effect.
Photoshop :: Lens Flare Filter - Artifacts Ruin Effect - Useless Filter?
Aug 25, 2013I tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?

Nov 9, 2013I've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.
I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.
I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?
Photoshop :: Extract Filter Missing From Filter
Jul 18, 2009I have Photoshop CS4 running on a 8 gig Vista 64 bit system. When I click on Filters, there is no Extract Filter. I did a search prior to posting and saw some threads talking about not moving files, icons etc from their original folder. I am un sure if anything has been moved. However, when I click on Filters, they all seem to be there (at least not greyed out), EXCEPT for the Extract filter. Any help would be apprecited and if you let me know where the filters should reside I can make sure they are in the correct location.

Aug 23, 2013for some weird reason all of a sudden the adjustments I make to my images in ACR are not carrying over when I open them in CS5. I've cheked the Adobe website to make sure I have the latest versions of both ACR & CS5 & I do. Any thoughts on how I can correct this? Very frustrating to adjust 10 - 15 wedding images in ACR then they're right back to the original image when I open them in CS5.

Apr 24, 2013When I save photoshop documents on my Mac they are unable to be opened on windows. This happens roughly 60% of the time. The only way I have learned to resolve this problem is to create a new photoshop document, copy all of the layers into this new document, and save it again. The Mac is new - about three weeks old. We save all of our files on an external harddrive backed up on the Mac. All of our computers run CS6.

I sent it to myself first to check the resolution etc. The problem is I cannot get it to keep the orginal aspect ration within the email. I compared it to other flyers sent to me, that were produced in Photoshop, I checked all the specs and everything in them matched mine. Jan 31, 2009I'm having a problem saving changes to tiff files. Example: I open a new tiff (scanned image, 16 bits RGB, I duplicate the image, close the original unchanged. I then make simple changes, e.g. levels or calculations, and then "save as" with a new file name with the tiff extention. CS2 grinds away. When I open the new image it is the same as my original tiff, none of my adjustments are saved. I HAVE reset my preferences, no dice. I rebuilt my cache, no dice.
