I have a rather lenghty action that was made for me in photoshop cs2. we just upgraded to cs3. is there any way to import this action from cs2 into cs3? or does it have to be re-written?

I fould the Load Actions dialogue, which tells me to locate the Action(s) I want to load. That's where I get stuck. Tried and tried but cannot locate the CS5 Actions I wrote. I have tried the edit import actions menu. I have tried dragging the old action set to the new version. All to no avail. What I would like to try next is to instal CS4 and see if I can import the action set from CS3 and then onwards from CS4 to CS6...However the support person could not give me a link to download CS4...

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn autodesk inventor 2013 is there a file format (for example .igs, stl, solid works format, catia, pro/E format, etc) that when imported into inventor will appear with its detailed history tree? for example if I try to import a solid works part into inventor 2013 will it appear as one block or will it have its history tree showing the original sketch and other features that were used to make it? If all imported parts will appear as blocks in inventor 2013 regardless of there format, does this latest version of the software have tools similar to direct modeling software (such as KeyCreator) that make it easy to make changes to the 3D imported part, without having to completely remake the part in inventor? Are such tools in the inventor fusion 2013 software instead? Â

View 7 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
I was wondering, how was the text created in this image?
I really like the streaks/lines that go accross it but am not sure how it was done?
to making Gifs, but just took some black text, made bg transparent, changed resolution from 300 to 72. text is huge so have to make it smaller with bicubic resample. but then text looks very jagged and awful,

I think I should probably make the brushes in CS6 to be good for CC and CS6, but thought I'd ask if it's possible to just make them in CC. Would save me having to keep CS6 on my computer.
I do quite a bit of Photoshop work but it is simple. I am trying to re-create the look of this image but struggling on it. I did some that were close but the look was off.
The black layer is added in, any tips on how it is done and what tools are used to go around the relief so well?
for some weird reason all of a sudden the adjustments I make to my images in ACR are not carrying over when I open them in CS5. I've cheked the Adobe website to make sure I have the latest versions of both ACR & CS5 & I do. Any thoughts on how I can correct this? Very frustrating to adjust 10 - 15 wedding images in ACR then they're right back to the original image when I open them in CS5.
View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen I save photoshop documents on my Mac they are unable to be opened on windows. This happens roughly 60% of the time. The only way I have learned to resolve this problem is to create a new photoshop document, copy all of the layers into this new document, and save it again. The Mac is new - about three weeks old. We save all of our files on an external harddrive backed up on the Mac. All of our computers run CS6.

I try the different "lower and upper arc), my text becomes a little rounded at the bottom (its suppose to be straight). Is there a special to create this type of warp text?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI made a flyer in Photoshop, I saved it as a JPG. Then I went into my email client AOL to insert it into the body of the email to send out to my clientele. I sent it to myself first to check the resolution etc. The problem is I cannot get it to keep the orginal aspect ration within the email. I compared it to other flyers sent to me, that were produced in Photoshop, I checked all the specs and everything in them matched mine. When I put them into the email the retained their orginal format.

I never made sets just added individual ones as I made them..
I'm having a problem saving changes to tiff files. Example: I open a new tiff (scanned image, 16 bits RGB, I duplicate the image, close the original unchanged. I then make simple changes, e.g. levels or calculations, and then "save as" with a new file name with the tiff extention. CS2 grinds away. When I open the new image it is the same as my original tiff, none of my adjustments are saved. I HAVE reset my preferences, no dice. I rebuilt my cache, no dice.
Standard Winxp2, I have a cache drive, computer has good speed and drive space,
I was doing some selections and gradients and somehow 'tagged' my document.
ctrl+z wouldn't undo it either. I can't find any tool that can select or move it.
I have a screen shot below. It's the crosshair with the dot and number 1. Any one know what this is and how to delete it?

Not sure how to just start fresh and make all new textures... basically what i want to know is if there is a way to delete these. They can all be edited but it takes time and effort to change all the names and stuff...
