View 2 Replies View RelatedThis may be a very simple question (or not):
As shown here, I have a Photoshop project that has many layers in it. All of the layers have pretty much the same pictures in it, but with minor differences. I'm trying to find a way to change the color of ALL of the layers without having to go into each individual one.
I want all the layers to have the exact same color different than what is shown.
I am trying to set up a smart collection to list files that are blank in the Location field. Some fields such as Caption allow you to check if the field "is empty". Location does not allow the "is empty" option. What can I do to check if Location is empty or blank?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIf an image is opened from ACR normally, the base layer will be named "Background". If an image is opened as a Smart Object, the base layer will be named as the filename of the image.
If an action is programmed that creates new layers on top of the Smart Object then selects the base layer, the step in the action will be 'Select _MG_ 1234' or whatever the name of the image file is. If you try to run that action on a different image file, an error message will pop up at the step where the base layer is selected indicating that the file is not available because the action is pointing to a specific image file name.
How does one go about making an action with smart objects generic so that it will run on any image file?
I created a smart object with linked adjustment layers. I made them into a group. (I also tried this with the layers just being linked, and not grouped.) I want to move the smart object, with its adjustment layers, into another document. Ideally, I'd like to do this using "replace contents." When I do so, the smart object comes into the destination document flattened with its adjustment layers. Is there some way to keep those adjustment layers linked, not flattened, to move with the smart object layer?
The workflow I'm trying to achieve is to remove blemishes, etc. and make my all changes to my layer that I'd want to have made no matter what size and context I use that layer in. That is, make one smart object I can slot into a postcard, a 14 x 11 print, and other products. I don't sharpen until I have moved the layer/smart object into my target document, so that sharpening is appropriate for the final print size. Depending on the size and context, I may want to make changes to the levels/curves/hue saturation type adjustment layers though, so having these flattened when I bring the smart object in to my target document is disappointing.
While working and when the job was nearly done (Photoshop document with several layers to correct wrinkles, teeth, neck...) , I found out that the document is setup RGB.I have to convert it into CMYK but I don't want to merge it or lose layers since I need them in another Photoshop document too.
While converting the image from RGB to CMYK, I found out that some of the layers (hue/saturation adjustment layers) don't exist anymore when converted to CMYK...How do I get these layers (or at least the effect they give to the design) in CMYK?
I am trying to get photoshop to combine some objects in the stacked photos. I do not understand why after selecting all the various smart objects which are layered, and going to Layers- smart objects - stack mode is greyed out.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have never gotten this to work, but had put little effort into it until recently. Thus far I have checked my project standards to make sure "match sheet views to view" is checked to "yes".
In both View drawing and the sheet- VISRETAIN is set to 1.
the VPLAYEROVERRIDESMODE is set to 1
I am working on drawings that are in my current project through project navigator. I am using ACA 2010 and not sure what else I need to do. I turn off all the unwanted layers in the view drawing, then create a sheet and xref in the view to model space- all the layers reset, and I again have to turn off all the unwanted layers. If I change a layer color in the view drawing, it does not change in the sheet drawing upon save and refresh.
I hate wasting time repeating the same task over and over....
How to disable border highlighting when selecting a smart object in the layers panel? Designing pixel-to-pixel is cumbersome when the highlight appears and temporarily extends the size of the shape by 1 px.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWhen searching for files I've worked on using File>Open in CS6, the List view of the folder no longer shows a thumbnail of the file. This is ridiculous, as every other version of Photoshop has had it, and everyone is complaining.
Why isn't Adobe responding to this? With the frequency with which we have to update to be able to update rather than buying the entire version, we shouldn't be losing functionality in the program. How about it Adobe?????

View 1 Replies View RelatedA lot of pictures of my collection do have GPS-data in EXIF-header. Sometimes they are shown on the world-map, sometimes not. In list-view they are never shown. The list-view knows only locations, which are matched with PSE.
The EXIF-input was made by two different tools (Holux GPS Software and Geosetter 3.4.16).
How can I get the list-view for the saved files without using PSE adding location?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have all my symbols named and catagorized in alphabetical listing. Whenever I open a new symbol library it alwasy reverts to large thumbnails. These thumbnails are usually too small to see the small differences between different shirt types. Also I have trouble with white symbols being hard to see.
Anywho obviously I can just switch it to large list view and then its fine. But I'm getting annoyed that I have to do it every time I open a new symbol pallet. Its like 1 more task that I feel like this several hundred dollar software should be smart enough to do for me.
I've looked in preferences to no avail. How or if you can set the large list view as a default for opening libraries. Brush, symbol or otherwise?
Any examples on how to list all the layers of a current drawing and populate a ComboBox on a form with that list. It seems pretty simple, i'm just gonig through the .NET Developer guide now but was hoping there was a quicker solution.

I would like to be able to view my Library items in a list, rather than icons. I would like to be able to sort my Library items by name, or date taken. This would come in handy in many ways. For instance, if I have previously named my images properly (perhaps with a date format like IMG_2012_06_10), then I would be able to easily import series based on dates or names of files. If the library is smart enough, it might even be able to read the "date taken" property, then I could sort by that and insert into my timeline accordingly. Also, it would be nice to separate the samples that come with VS from my actual content. Perhaps these things are already possible, I don't know. I can't seem to figure it out, so maybe the GUI should offer more friendliness to laying out my libraries?
If there is already a list-view option with the sort feature in X5.
I have a model of an enclosure created using Frame Generator. I create a View Representation of each wall and the roof in order to create the fab drawings. Is there a way to create a Parts List ONLY what is visible in a particular View Representation?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a string of 3d solids (cubes if you will) lined up in a row. I have a 3D Polyline starting below each one cube. (each polyline is a different layer name). As the line enters the cube, it then turns left in the center... and goes through the other cubes to its left till it reaches the end. So the left most cube has each line going through it, and the right most cube has only one 3dpolyline. I am looking for a way to create some kind of tangible data I can display, export or extract of what layers are going through cube one if I select it. Same for cube 2, 3, ect...
I have dummied down the example due to having 44 cubes, and not all in a single row, or this question would be an easier answer.
So is there a command, or a lisp routine I can create or manipulate to give layer names that float through a 3D Solid?
I have a very complex graphic with many elements and I would like to find a way to hide layers based on a list. In the documentation that there is a way to tell if a layer is hidden, but didn't see anything about a way to actually to control the hide/unhide property. Is this possible?
