GIMP :: Text Changing Color When Image Overlap
Jul 24, 2013I am trying to produce a new logo for our business that has a solid Blue cloud image on a transparent background. I need to add text over this but ideally it will show as white over the cloud background but blue when its over the transparent background.
Cant simply change the color of text as its a curved edge its going over. I assume I will need to do some form of punch out but not sure how to start this.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Input 3D Cartesian Coordinates / Batch Input (x / Y / Z)
Feb 4, 2013My need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.

Mar 15, 2013I am UNABLE to follow a tutorial on how to make a repeatable pattern using 'texture transfer' on some fire I want to make into a pattern!!! every time I select the area I want to use and the 'input map' and paste as new image and I tell Resynthesizer to use that image it ALWAYS errors out as "The Input Map Should Be The Same Size As The Input Texture Image" according to the tutorial another person gave me on this forum he said NOTHING about being the same size!!! in fact, his selection was SMALLER than the actual image that he was using Resynthesizer on!!!

Lightroom :: Unable To Input Text In Spine Of A Book?
Jan 28, 2013I am making a small square book in the book module. The book only has 40 pages and therefore the spine is pretty narrow. In the cover template, the spine does show up but I am unable to click into it, where normally on other books, a yellow box appears to input the text.
I wonder if this is not happening because the spine may be too small for text. Although I did make the text in Photoshop and added it to the cover as a Background graphic. The two issues with that is that it takes much too long to tweak it, and since it's JPEG file, I am sure it won't be as sharp as text typed into LR directly. I will be making several books this size and I would prefer having it be simple and just within LightRoom

Illustrator :: Script - Width And Height Input Into Text Field?
Jun 11, 2013Illustrator CS6. Is there a script that inputs in a text field the width and height of an object. I do proofs and for a printing company and we always have to write the size of the artwork for the customer to approve. It's easy to do, but when you do 100's a week, it gets old and annoying. I do scale the image down to be visible on 11x8.5. I would think if there is a way to input the size of artwork, there would have to be a way to write the script so it can multiply the scaled down artwork for proofs to the actual W and H of the object. If the art is 13"W x 20"H and I put it on the proof at 10%, I want the script to input in a text field the 13"W x 20"H.

The user then puts a number in each field.
I have a 3rd field created to hold the answer. I also made a text field with the name "scorefield" to see if that would work, either will do.
Then on a button on the stage, the user clicks on it to add those first two numbers together and have the sum appear in the 3rd field or the text field that has the symbol name "scorefield".
However I can not seem to be able to add the 2 values of the text fields. On the submit button I have:

var additionresult = number1 + number2;

answer1.value = additionresult;
The problem is that it is NOT adding number1 and number2 together!
If I substitute + for - or / or * it works using those symbols, but if I try to use the plus sign and add the two, it does not work and instead physically adds the numbers next to eachtoher.
So If I were to put a 5 in field one, and a 2 in field 2, the result comes out to be 52...instead of adding the two values, it places them next to eachother.
I know those ARE numeric values because any other mathamatical sign works. I can multiplay, subtract and divide those two numbers. I can even check to se if its higher or lower of a value using > or <.
But when I use the + sign, it breaks.
Is there some other sign I must use to add two values?

Feb 2, 2013I am having a problem and I am not sure what's the cause but I think that it is related to gamut. I recently noticed that some colors started to show as black instead of their original color. for example if I open a new document and set it's background to #00ce57 I see it in black instead of neon green.
when changing the color mode to 32 bit I see the correct color and also when I am turning on gamut warning all the black color turns into gray.

Photoshop :: Actions Suddenly Started Screwing Up?
Feb 18, 2012 why an action that was working perfectly has suddenly started screwing up, royally?It's an action I bought on a digital scrapbooking site. Never could get it to work in PSE but was delighted that it was working in PS. Today, though, it just began malfunctioning. I have my doubts as to how reliable some of these actions are from these digiscrapping people.
Could I have accidentally done something to mess it up? I haven't done anything lately except download some patterns and brushes from a very reliable source.I doubt I even have the zip files anymore. I had pretty much given up on this action working...until I bought CS5.5 and voila!

Jun 13, 2007I am currently working on a very simple illustrator project and I have run into the following issue.
In the image below, there is an object with a green fill and semi-transparent stroke. Another stroke (Also semi transparent) is overlapping the first stroke a bit and, as one would expect, the two objects appear darker where they overlap.
Is there any way to prevent this? Basically, I have two stroked objects that share a border in a small area and where they overlap, the strokes are darker due to the semi-transparency. Is there a way to keep the overlapping part one uniform color?
Unless I am mistaken, there is no way to have one point have 2 lines coming off of it. If there is, I could make one stroke for both objects... If not, I need to find a way to have the overlapping area look as if it has one stroke, not two. Or get the stoke onto it's own layer...
Photoshop :: CS5 Suddenly Started Opening Files With Default Magnification Of 0.12%
Dec 13, 2012CS5 has suddenly started opening files with the default magnification of 0.12%. This means images appear as tiny specks of dust in a very small window and typing 'cmd-0' has no effect. Typing 'cmd-1' does enlarge the image to actual pixels but the window stays postage stamp size and has to be manually dragged larger. Typing 'cmd-0' again at this stage returns us to 0.12%.
Resetting the zoom tool or anything else I can think of has no effect.

Suddenly , it started making each tile on the large canvas a different color when I apply Fill>Pattern. At first I thought it was a tip or guide to see the repeat edges , but it shows up in print preview too. What did I do and how do I correct it?

Mar 7, 2012I just got an Intuos5 and I'm not very experienced with the Photoshop settings regarding tablet usage. I want to replicate the effect of drawing on paper with a marker, without lifting my pen. If you go back and forth over the same spot 15 times on a piece of paper with a marker without (lifting the marker), that spot will be much darker than if you make one stroke. I understand that in Photoshop I can lift my pen off the tablet and do the same stroke 15 times, but logistically, that just doesn't work with the way I draw.
Basically, I'm wondering if there's a way to make it so opacity is purely dependent on how many times a certain spot is covered WITHOUT LIFTING MY PEN.I know there are controls to switch brush opacity to coincide with pen pressure, but I don't want to destroy my new tablet by carving into it to have a pure black stroke.
To demonstrate what I mean by this, here's an extremely crude example in which the left represents how photoshop works for me now, versus how I'd like it to work. Notice how going over the same spot within the same stroke, those intersections are darkened.

Oct 24, 2012As an old scholar (been using PShop since Beta 1.0) I have never been a fan of tabs -esp as I often drag/compare elements from multiple files. In CS6 I see some inconsistent behavior with palettes. The active file can now obscure the toolbar and the palettes docked at far right. Strangely, other palettes (not docked) remain visible above the image.
The same occurs with other open files, so that I can have the tool bar blocked by files I'm not even working on. I have set my workspace to mimic CS5 as I'm not fond of the newer interface. This odd overlap impacts my workflow, as it takes time to maneuver the various image frames so as not to obscure palettes. Is this SOP, a bug, or is there a prefs setting that I broke? (see attached image).

Dec 23, 2011I saved a photo book and while I was working on it it got closed by accident. Now I cannot open it back up into the photobook program I was working on it in. I can find the "photobook" in my saved files and when I open it, it separates each page as a file so I have to open each page separately and work on them instead of having the whole book to look at and then I can flip through the pages of the photobook and decide which page to put my photo on. I have typed this into all the help systems but nothing comes up.
