i try to "save as" a file the save as window pops up for a second then simply disappears and i cant click anything.
the only thing i can do is shut down photoshop in the process list.
i already tried removing and reinstaling but it didnt work

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith an open file, if I drag it to a new position, the content of the picture disappears, showing only the desktop underneath.
If I click on it with any tool, the content comes back. Drag it again and the content disappears.
Of course, if I turn off OpenGL features in prefs, the behavior goes away (as do all of the cool features like continuous zoom, sharp at all zoom percentages, etc.).
Vid car is ATI Radeon X1950 Pro with newest drivers.
I have CS installed on my laptop. running WinXPPro, and unfortunately a few weeks ago CS started to behave badly. The program appears to load fine but 1 or 2 seconds after finally loading the program disappears from both the Application list and the window. The Task manager continues to show the Photoshop.exe process but its doing nothing. I have deleted preferences, I have re-installed, I have removed FlashPlayer (a CS3 problem sounded similar) all to no avail. Oddly enough ImageReady CS performs fine - it just doesn't give me the features I need access to do my work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just began having problems with Photoshop today. I wanted to apply Blending Options to a layer. The Layer Style window opened but it was nowhere to be found! Because I could not access this window to either perform a task or close it, I had to Control/Alt/Delete because nothing else in the program would work. Obviously, it was waiting for a response to the window but as I couldn't see it, I couldn't access it. I've never had this problem before and I've just spent four hours trying to find the problem, including messing with screen resolutions and monitor designations (I use a laptop with a flat screen as #2 monitor). View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my cursor will become invisible. This happens only with AutoCAD. and if I switch between drawing windows it will appear on another drawing file. I have to close the drawing and open it again and then the cursor will be back only to disappear again. The cursor is visible if I move it back to the ribbon or bottom controls. It seems to happen only when it becomes the cross-hair cursor. I can still make selection windows and right click.
Mouse is working fine with all other programs and drivers are up-to-date.
When I crop a cdr image, part of the image disappears within the crop window. Clicking inside the cropped image reveals node locations as if the image is still there but the black lines are invisible. But, there are some objects visible in the cropped image.

URL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.
I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
At random moments when I'm saving layered Photoshop CS5 files, a message pops up with the following text: Could not save "...FileName..." because the file is locked or you do not have the necessary access privileges. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.
Well the strange thing is that I'm the administrator, the only user of this PC and even when I set/check the properties of the folder containing the files this continues to happen. What is even more disturbing is that I have to save my file as a new file in a new location and when I check the original file, it is no longer in it's original folder.
I save all my files to the local HD and I use an external device to backup my files. I regularly get notices on my backup device telling me that various files were deleted, but will be kept until I need the room. These are files which I did not delete, they are files which I'm still working on.
I'm having to save to the original job folder first, save to the desktop when I get the notice saying I can't save, and then save back into the original folder when I can't save on the desktop anymore because of the same error message. I sometimes get a similar Adobe error message which is basically along the same lines, but I haven't noted the exact text yet.
I no longer run my back up continuously while I'm working because while it's great to have the peace of mind that I'm regularly backed up, my files can get up to 2GB in size and I think the backup running at the same time is slowing Photoshop processes down, so I most often pause it until I take a break. On this occasion, I had been running it while working (smaller file) and so I was able to retrieve an earlier version from my backup which saved me from having to re-do the job completely. I didn't get this problem when I was using CS5 on Vista, it's been since I've been using Windows7 and my back up drive.
I only recall having had this problem with PSDs, but that could just be because these files can take up to ten hours to complete and there's a higher chance of getting an error message over a longer period of time.
I'll disconnect my back up drive while I'm working and see how it goes. It's not ideal, but probably worth a try.I don't know if there's a connection, but occasionally windows randomly sticks a lock on zipped folders which I create, regardless of the permissions I apply to the upper level folder they sit in. I'm told by a friend that it won't affect other people accessing these zipped folders from other machines. I don't know if that's the case, I always change the zipped folder's permission to include 'Users' and that makes the lock disappear.

Using Elements 6 or 11, (a purchased copy), when I add text and then save the text disappears in the saved copy but remains in the Elements copy. I've spent hours on this being very careful that the save location is where I want it. The photos shown in the bin do contain the text. ??

All of a sudden and out of the blue this window fails to apprear when trying to save a drawing to another location or to a different file name.
AutoCAD 2011 still has this funciton so have had to go back to using the earlier version.
It used to be with previous releases of AutoCAD that when I opened the application it restored the window size and position to how it was when I last used it, but with 2013 and now 2014 I find this is not the case.
Basically, I most of the time am happier not having the application fill the full width of the screen, so I have the left side pulled in a certain amount, but not only do I have to pull it in each time, but there is also a small gap at the top, bottom an right side that I have to close up, which is irritating.
I am using civil 3d 2012 when i click open and save as not show a window its show command line choose file <c:folder location like this.

When I try to use the ACR it will load and I can use it but when I try to open, save or cancel my image I cannot. This is because the ACR window is too 'long' for my Sony desktop window and the buttons I am trying to access are in the 'shadow' of the desktop window. When I try to resize the ACR window to access the buttons it will let me adjust it on the vertical window edges but not on the horizontal window edges. I have to reboot the laptop to do anything at all.

I've played with the preferences windows management options and seem to have all the file options curves etc on top now (these were opening under the single window at one point) but nothing I do seems to want to make the filter boxes open where I can see them - It's making GIMP quite unpleasant to use.

When I inserted the window into a wall, otherwise the window worked fine, but when I changed the window's Window Inset value, the frame depth changed instead of the frame's location. The frame was originally made by Sweep tool, but now when I made it by Extrusion tool, the window works fine. Anyway, for future purposes, I would like to know how to be able to use the Window Inset parameter with a frame made by Sweep tool. How do I lock the depth of the frame sweep?
