I first posted this question on the 4th Nov. I thought it would have been relitivly simple for PS users..Lets try again ??
I am currantly a PSP user moving to Photoshop, I have photoshop CS3 and one of the functions I used quite a bit as my clients sent me images for their web site was to drag them from the email on to PSP work table and the image would open.
Someone sent me a logo a .gif. It wont drag into another image. I made it a PSD, same thing. so I was able to select it and copy it over, but I've never see something that would not drag into another document.

I have over 100 images that I have to repeat the same process to, and yes I know actions, but I need to go into each individual layer and adjust accordingly and would save me less time then to open each file and repeat. a crop for example would take 1 minute with multiple layers, a crop in a batch might take 5 min especially if there are a few hundred. then after that I can just choose a script and export layer to files. You can create groups in Bridge and do that method in InDesign and Illustrator,

I set up an email system with the wizard, and I receive the following error message:Connection to server has failed Acct. "charter.net' Server 'charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port:25; Secure (SSA: No: Socket Error: 10060, Error# 0x800CCCOE Or I am asked for a verification code from an email they have sent to me. When I use the code, it states, "An unexpected error has occurred." My computer is 8 years old and out of warranty, so Dell won't support and the server doesn't do this kind of thing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a good tutorial for converting PSD files into HTML emails. I know the basic steps such as slicing up the document, how to optimize the images, save as an HTML file and images but after that it gets fuzzy. I'm struggling with how to have text blocks in photoshop show up as text rather than be an image in the HTML.
I've searched on Lynda.com, YouTube, and quite a few other sources but can't seem to find anything that goes over it in depth. I'm a novice when it comes to HTML.
I did everything according to the instructions, defined e-mail address, got the code and confirmation of the adress, but still when I try to send meile in the end there is symbol that the computer is trying to perform this task, but the minutes passes by, and nothing changes. I have spend a lot of time trying to fix it - with no success. I use Windows 8 and Microsoft OutLook. I have no problems sending other thing. I also have Mozzilla Thunderbird om my computer, but it is synchronised to OutLook (can use both of them, whichever I want).
I bought Photoshop Elements 12 to send and edit photos. I'm close to that to give up this product, despite the fact that the rest of his functions as a judge very successful.
How do you attach an edited photo to an email account like gmail. The share email options didn't seem appropriate, so I tried to drag the photo to the desktop, and the whole program goes with it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a task that I repeat all the time, where I have about 20 digital photos that are all taken of something the same size, at the same magnification, but not centered identically. I then need similarly centered, identical size and shape cropped images for all of the images. In Photoshop, a friend with the exact same task solves this by opening all of the images, making a rectangular selection of the appropriate size and shape by eye on the first image, and then dragging this rectangular selection from this first image into each other open images and hand-positioning in each image as he drags it in, so that all of the selections for cropping the images are the same shape and size, and can be individually positioned, rapidly. This exact solution is perfect for this task, and although it works great in Photoshop, selections can't be dragged intact from image to image in the same way in gimp 2.6.11 on ubuntu 11.04/gnome 2.32.1/linux 2.6.38-8 generic , so I am looking for a way to accomplish something similar.

Then, "Windows Will close the program and notify you if it finds a solution to the problem" (which it never does).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI needed to have a 7-foot retractable banner printed and discovered my San Diego print vendor had dragged my InDesign .pdf into Photoshop and rastered my vector text and vector logos at 125 ppi and was going to print out of Photoshop.
I talked with their sales and graphics people for two days and specifically asked them in five different ways if they printed through a RIP (yes), and if I would get vector sharpness on my printed text and logos (yes). And I specifically requested they print directly from my .pdf and that they not alter my file in any way.
the person printing my job and she told me she had dragged my .pdf into Photoshop and would be printing out of Photoshop. She connected me with her graphics supervisor and I am not sure he even understood the difference between vector and raster, or my point about vector sharpness on the print.
I had asked their graphics person what profile to use -- she said CMYK and she didn't know what a profile was -- I dodged that question by having her open her Photoshop Color Settings and reading her working CMYK profile.
I called two other San Diego banner printing shops after that and the conversations were about the same.
In Photoshop CS4, when you drag an image to open it, the program opened in a new tab automatically. Since version CS5, in doing so, the software simply inserts the image on the tab that is already open. There configuring Photoshop CS6 equal to CS4 (when dragging an image, open it in a new tab)?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows XP/Photoshop CS3 and for some reason I can not drag photos around on the screen. This is random as sometimes it works. I have tried everything except reinstalling the software. Which I would rather not do since I have a lot of add-on and plug-in's.
Here's what I have tried:
1. Reset PS preferences on the startup
2. I have used all the various Windows Screen modes using Shift-F.
3. Check for updates online.
I have updated to 10.3.3, after updating I can no longer drag a file onto the dock icon to open it, any suggestions, is it a 10.3.3 problem or did I turn something off that I am unaware of. It will launch the program if it is not open but it will not actually open the file.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there anyway to setup photoshop CS3 so that you can drag documents around by selecting the top of the window, like you can in every other windows compatible application? You know like you could in every single other version of Photoshop?
I work on multiple documents at once and need to drag them around, CS3 does not allow you to do this. Being aloud to drag a window is no longer automatic. It requires way to much work I have to move the mouse over the leftmost small icon of the top of a window (which is usually obscured by the tool palette so I have to minimize that as well),
then I have click on the little icon, then scroll down to the move choice, now the window is able to be dragged - All these steps are talking way to long for working on multiple documents. Does anyone know of a way to just automatically allow a document to be dragged around in photoshop? The way it used to work in every other version up until CS3?
i can't understany why photoshop won't allow me to drag and drop a gif file from its file to another new photoshop file...

When I open a second file next to the 1st and try to move item from that file to 1st file, it can not be done.
I can move the item in it´s own file but I can´t drag it to another file.
Layers do not merge under one window but stay in their separate windows.

When I go to draw anything or move anything, the canvas does not respond to mouse events at all.
