Sep 17, 2008I just drew a shape with the pen tool. But even though I can see the line, it's not a real line. I can hide the layer and still see it.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Mapdist Command - Measurement Different From Actual Created Line
Dec 14, 2012When using the mapdist command the measurement is different from the actual line that I create. The map coordinates and the maptrack coordinates match. When I open a older drawing there is not an issue. Did I somehow change the origin of my template.
Here is sample from the command line

Specify first point:
Specify second point:
Distance = 12.7513 (Foot)
Azimuth = 38 degrees (forward), 218 degrees (reverse)
Delta X = 15.0000, Delta Y = -0.0381

Sep 24, 2013I'm using a shared computer at a university and we just upgraded to CS6. When I use the line tool while making a mask a box pops up which measures the line's length and angle.
I want to turn it off, and it blocks being able to see what I am trying to mask. I've tried looking this up online and in Photoshop but I just don't know the correct terminolgy, i.e. what to call it, to find out how to turn it off.

It causes problems with filleting lines as it automatically turns new lines into polylines. Aug 9, 2012Our survey crew would like to upload a dxf file into their data collector in order to stake out linework such as curb & gutter with elevation. They have given up on using stakeout points as a standard procedure long before I arrived (being the cad guy I just figured everyone used points for stakeout) and up to now they would just use the 2-d linework and manually calc elev on their own. From what I understand our RLS didn't "trust" the data collector to use elevation for staking. Now that we finally talked our RLS into "trusting" the data collector as far as using elevation for staking we are running into problems with our feature lines when exporting to a dxf file. As you may or may not know when exporting to a dxf file it explodes our feature lines into lines, p-line, and arcs. Feature lines that have different elev & no curves turn into regular line segments and they still have the correct elev on each end vertex. Great. Feature lines that had the same elev for all vertex turn into a polyline with no elev or a whacked out elev. Featurelines that had a radius turn into polylines and/or arcs (I don't know what it's using to determine this) but either way the elev is zero or whacked out once again. No good!
So, using a dxf file in their data collector to stakeout linework with elevation? If, so what is your procedure?
Furthermore I find it absolutely ridiculous that... oh never mind, it does no good to complain about the complete lack of transparency between C3D, surveyors, and surveying equipment.I have tested the dxf file with both C3D 2011 & 2012. I have not tried it with 2013, maybe that has changed? Our survey crew is using a Tsc2 data collector.

Aug 23, 2013How to make Multi Leader end line landing or turn 90 degree vertical? I just want to use the leader point to the part and no text at the end of the leader. I guess the only way i know how to do right now is to exploded the M-leader and draw a line vertical down which is not recall proper way . Some people like to use just Leader not Multi leader but i like to use M-leader so i can enter the text in difference line. (See Pic below)

2. So ya that one was easy.. hows bout when i want to cut something out ACCURATELY, the pen function, right? (according to a friend)when i make all those little boxes and select the area i want to cut, all that gets copied are the outer lines, which i presume is what ive just drawn.. how do i cut the area inside this?
3. and finally maybe a slightly less easy one- In Paint, when you cut out an object and paste it, you can select for the white of the image to become transparent so you can paste over what you have already.. is thee a feature in PS for this?

Feb 18, 2009I'm trying to use the line tool to draw a colored line, I draw the line via Line tool, it appears in grey, I right click>stroke path and select Pencil > OK, the line is still grey and not the foreground color. If I do the same with a Rectangle Tool, it works fine and darws me a nice colored rectangle. What am I doing wrong? This is driving me nuts...!!

Jan 4, 2013how to mirror about a line, but the line was outside the object.
I now have a need to mirror about a line but the line is partially inside the object (so after mirroring the object would be overlapped). When I select both objects and try to create the mirror, the "axis" of the reflection is simply the edge of the object, not the line.
When the line was outside, that worked simply because when you selected both objects the line brought the outside of both selected objects to that point so it simply mirrored / reflected at that point (the line). So the line was not truly acting as a point of reflection. Hope that made sense.
I think I'm about to buy Cadtools from Macromonster but I would like to know if Draw has a way of acheiving this. Hey I may find out Cadtools can't reflect when the line is inside the object.
