I'm trying to enlarge a 6x8 inch black and white line drawing jpg file to about 36x48..(actually a little smaller so it will fit on a 3x4 cork board) How can I do this in Corel Paint (or Draw) so that we end up with clean (and blurry) lines ?

What tools do I use to do this? I saved the photos in maximum qulaity with 600 pixels / inch. I need to have them large enough to be enlarged to 16" x 24"
I had Corel Photo Paint v.9, have used it for years in addition to DRAW, but recently my computer died and I had to replace it. I installed it on the new machine, which is running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but the line tool suddenly started acting nuts. I would move the cursor to where I wanted to start the line and start the line with a mouse click. The line would then dart half-way down the screen and would be nowhere near the cursor's cross hairs making it difficult to work on images.
So, I figured it was a compatibility issue so I bought Corel Technical Suite X6 and have installed it. The line tool does exactly the same thing. The position of the line is nowhere near the crosshairs of the cursor. Is this a new "feature" or is this a bug? If the former, how can I get it to work like I am accustomed to working (I have used DRAW and Photopaint since the mid 1990's, using version 5.0). If the latter, how can I fix it?
I am working with a laser and I want to create a picture of a person on a pendent. The lazer can only see black and white. What I am trying to do is to learn how to take a photo of anyone and have Illustrator make it look like a sketch or something like that and then convert it to a .dxf file which is what the laser reads.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHow can I draw a line from the endpoint of an existing line (snap to grid is on), without the lines being joined? Joining causes two problems for me:
1. The arrowhead at the end of the existing line moves to the end of the joined line, whereas I want the arrowhead in the middle of the combined line.
2. Even without entering isolation mode the new line gets joined to a line which belong to a group, thus becoming part of that group as well. This defies the use of grouping to create logically connected units.
I just drew a shape with the pen tool. But even though I can see the line, it's not a real line. I can hide the layer and still see it.

I am trying to draw a line. Now all of a sudden, there is a stupid arrow. how to do i turn this annoying freature off?

I'm using a shared computer at a university and we just upgraded to CS6. When I use the line tool while making a mask a box pops up which measures the line's length and angle.
I want to turn it off, and it blocks being able to see what I am trying to mask. I've tried looking this up online and in Photoshop but I just don't know the correct terminolgy, i.e. what to call it, to find out how to turn it off.

I've used 5.0 for a long time and have gotten 7.0 recently. I need to turn off anti-aliasing on all tools to preserve sharp lines in the illustrations I do, which is simple in 5.0, but haven't been able to find a way to do the line tool in 7.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on drawing supplied by someone else. In this drawing virtually all the lines are polylines whereas I just want to work with 'ordinary' lines. It causes problems with filleting lines as it automatically turns new lines into polylines. Is there a way to turn a polyline into an 'ordinary' line or do I just have to redraw each line or put up with the problems it causes?

I have to draw a rather weird drawing with a lot of angled lines. Currently I'm using UCS to draw them but it's really tiresome.
I would draw 1 line, then type in UCS, select the X and Y axis, draw that line, escape, then hit in UCS again, rinse and repeat.
Is there a simpler way? I tried polar tracking "relative to last segment" but it still uses the x axis as the base, which is not what I want. I want the line to be the X axis.
I currently have an assignment that requires us to turn our 2D drawing into 3D. I am having difficulty with the walls and constructing them. Any recommendations on how to begin this process?
