View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have some patterns that our customers can choose from to put sandblast film on their windows. Not sure about the english term for it, but this is what i mean:
We are looking for a flexible way to make the vector file from a predefined pattern.
Like the example below, when resizing the outer rectangle (= the window), the number of squares should be adjusted automatically. And the squares need to be centered in the window all the time.
I'm not such an expert in using patterns in illustrator, but i believe there is no way to define settings that control the pattern i believe? Like pattern brushes in illustrator, in which settings can be set like scale the pattern or scale the space inbetween, center the pattern,...
The square pattern below is just an example, see some other examples that i would like to easily control the thickness of lines, number of circles, space between stripes, horizontal and vertical scale of the pattern,...
I am struggling to make a small pattern go along and follow the curvature of a curve. Its shown below. The green dots and the dumbell shape are a group and need to follow the contour of the violet colored shape on its edges. So they have to look like they are following the curve. I have tried repeat patterns and so on but they do not follow the curvature of the edge/sketch.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a search around, and did not find the answer. Basically I have attempted to create an action in Photoshop CS6 which will save a file in the tiff format after i crop the image. I want the file name to be the name of the image (which is supposed to change depending on name of the image) like this:
1280x720_MGXXX.tiff, where, in my case the XXX represents DIFFERENT NUMBERS.
I want to apply the action to one image at a time. Each image has a different number (name). I record the action, add the 1280x720 text to the image name in the Save dialog. I am saving the image in a different folder from the source file. The source file name is _MGXXXX.tiff (again XXXX is a number like 2220...).
When I run the action on a file, say "_MG2221.tiff" it adds the 1280x720, and saves the file. When I apply the action on the next file (_MG2222.tif), the action overwrites the existing file, 1280x720_MG2221.tif, with the image. The action always uses the name I entered in the Save dialog!! I think I was able to do this in CS4 and CS5.
I want to be able to open a file, crop and adjust it, and then save in a diff location with 1280x720 pretended to the file name.
I'm making progress with my buttons thanks to everyone who replied on here....my next step is to incorporate an image into the buttons (as a branding method within my e-store).
I have an existing image which i wish to use in gif format, and was wondering whether i can convert it into a *.psd file. my main problem is that the background of the image is white, and as i want to use it in my buttons i really need to make it transparent?
I have just been having a blast making photoshop patterns, I could do this forever it feels like . I have only made a few as a test, I want to know how to share them.
1- How do I best make a preview of them?
2-How do I post them so that others can download them if they want them?
Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.
I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?
How can you use a template file from your personal files to use it in an already existing .dwg file.
I knwo how to do it if I start the drawing from scratch and I select that template, but I want to put this existing drawing into my personal template file from my documents.
I saved a symbols file with a few symbols in it.
I then create new .ai files - create some graphics then want to save some of them in the symbols file.
I dont see a way of saving symbols from the .ai file into the already existing symbols file.
I created an dynamic block few weeks ago and forgot to make it annotative. I try the ddchprop command, switch annotative to yes but it automatically immediately switch back to no.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to color a sketch I made and have thus far (successfully??) created a white background, an ink layer and a color layer. They are in multiply mode. The file I am working with is not GIF or JPEG, it's XCF.
Color is set to 100%, mode is normal. And yes, the image mode IS set to RGB.
I had selected a small color palette and filled an ellipse shape with it. Fine so far. I wanted to make another ellipse within this one and make it a different color. This did not work. I don't know how many options I tried, incl. exiting the program and starting again, to no avail. Somehow (how this worked) ONE additional color worked (very similar to the first). But no black, for example, no green, nothing.
Yesterday I finished a picture (my first attempt using GIMP or any software, at least for art) and I was super happy with the result. It's not working.
What should I do to “Layer 1” (the single image) to get-rid of those Horizontal and Vertical lines from pattern? While repeating as the Background Image into the HTML page, those Horizontal and Vertical lines does not look nice.
View 5 Replies View Relatedi have 2 jpg picture files and I want to make one new one picture or copy the picture from one file and place it next to the other picture in the other file.
for example i have a picture of a red car and a picture of a blue car. I'd like to end up with one picture contaning a red car and a blue car
If I create a third picture and copy and paste an existing picture into it, the quality of the new picture is reduced.
I want to make smart previews for all of my existing files and move the originals to an external drive. It goes without saying that I want the catalogs intact. I tried to do it but was unsucessful.

How can I make Displace modifier to use objects existing mapping? Because when I apply a new Displace, the modifier makes a new mapping, even if i check "Use Existing Mapping".
See what i mean? I want those "cracks" to follow uv not a displace mapping
I have patterned a part in an assembly and now wish to modify one of the patterned components without it changing the others. When I edit one of the patterns it changes the others similarly. Is there a way to make changes to just one pattern without affecting the others? The modifications are to a frame generated design.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHow do you make a Chevron or ZigZag pattern in Paint.net? I was able to make one, but it was pretty difficult.
I used the Diagonal Lines plugin to draw the lines and then used the Mirror plugin to make the actual chevron.
I then just copied and carefully pasted to make the pattern. Is there an easier way to do this that would be more
I followed this tutorial to create 3D Christmas lights, and all was going well until I reached one of the final steps- release clipping mask in order to proceed with making a pattern brush. The "Release" option is simply not available, I'm only allowed to "Make."
My questions:
- What might have I missed/what should I look for to enable making a pattern brush with 3d objects?
A Leader can be associative if it's drawn to a grip point . Is there a way to make inserted objects gripped to positions of existing entities?
If it's something to do with object overrule then it may be put in the too hard basket.
I can no longer drag and drop photos within photoshop elements 12. When working with a layer, I want to move it to a layer within another existing file, and no longer have the option. The only way I have fixed the issue in the past is uninstall and reinstall the program. I've read other forum posts and followed the instructions by resetting preferences and it does not work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Coreldraw X5 for printing and sublimation. If I use Pattern or Texture fills for a background, is there any way to make them less intense so the text can more easily be read? I am not sure of the correct terminology, whether it is "fade", "intensity" "transparency" etc. I would just like the fill to be fainter.
