Photoshop Elements :: Spot Healer Or Clone Stamp Sometimes Leave Black Spot On Image?

Mar 4, 2014

With both tools, I can make a few changes and then both will leave a black brush spot.  It works, and then it is like the program is too challenged & it just leaves a black spot.  Sometimes if I move my mouse to the history panel to back up to get rid of the black spot I get a swipe of the tool all across the image when I'm reaching with the mouse to go back in history.

I'm using PSE 11 and a Macbook Pro.

Illustrator :: Spot Color Swatches In AICS6 And AICC Do Not Match Color In Design

Feb 24, 2014

Some of the lighter, saturated colors in the PANTONE+ swatches library appear to be a different color in the swatch list than they are when applied to a design. see below for screen shots.

i can duplicate this situation on calibrated NEC MultiSync monitors and uncalibrated laptops. We are running on Mac OS X.8x and above.

Designers are complaining about not being able to pick a color from the Swatch Library in AICS6 or AICC. InDesignCC does not seem to have the same issue.

CorelDRAW X4 :: Printing Spot Color Seps With Color Name On Each Page

Dec 23, 2011

We print out spot color seps every day using CorelDraw X4. After we print out the plates, I have to cut down the vellum that we print on so that we do not have a bunch of extra blank vellum on the sheet.

We make use of the info that is printed on the lower left of every page where it states something like the following:

S:DirectoryWhereTheArtworkisLocatedfilename.cdr

Wednesday, December 23, 2011  8:00 AM

Plate: 1 of 3

After I cut down the sheet, I then have to hand write the name of the spot color onto the sheet of vellum in marker.

Is there any way at all, to make it so that CorelDraw would actually add the name of the spot color that is printed on each page to the information that is already being printed to the lower left? Ideally, it could be placed in the same area where it's already printing the plate information on the last line.

Could it read:

Plate: 1 of 3  Color: Pantone 375

Photoshop :: Spot Color

Sep 16, 2007

I am having trouble with a spot color image that I am trying to create in Photoshop and then import into InDesign.

In Photoshop, I've created my spot color channel, selected the Pantone color, pasted a greyscale version of my image into the spot color channel and removed all information from the CMYK channels.

Since my spot color channel is full of various greys, I was expecting to see a full range of TINTS in my image. But for some reason it doesn't look anything like the way I expect it to.

When I choose the same Pantone in InDesign and apply a gradient from 100% to 0% tint, I see a full range of light and dark blues. But in Photoshop everything looks grey-blue.

I thought maybe there was a difference between how the two programs display the color, so I imported the Photoshop file into InDesign anyway. But it still looks grey-blue just like it was in Photoshop.

Photoshop :: Spot Color Discrepancy

Oct 4, 2005

My client gave me her logo in .EPS format, which I opened using Illustrator. The logo color was Pantone 274C. However, while working on the same EPS file in Photoshop, I realised, when I eyedropped the same color, Photoshop tells me its 2756C, and it does look duller in the workspace. I'm working in CMYK for both programs.

What could be the problem. Is there any way to solve this?

Photoshop :: Two Spot Color File....

I have a photoshop file of a few photos that is currently grayscale. I need the final output to be two spot colors. 1. Spot color black2. PMS 294 The PMS 294 will be a solid blue field that everything in the file sits on. 1. How do I tell PS to make everything that's black into Spot Black? 2. What is the procedure to making the final output of the EPS DCS2 file? When I output it, and check the file in Illustrator, it still reads as a CMYK + 1 Spot.

Photoshop :: Magenta Spot Color

May 16, 2007

I'm trying to make a .tif of an image

I'm running a Mac OSX with Photoshop 7.0 and QuarkXPress 7.2, and so I tried deleting the cyan and yellow channels in photoshop. This forces me to save the Photoshop image as a DCS 2.0, thus incompatible with Quark (has to be in a .tif).

Making a monotone of the image makes the entire image magenta (and duotone isn't much better), but I'm trying to have the film reel tape as magenta and the top part of the tape be black.

The hue/saturation was very easy to make the tape into magenta from red, but printing is another issue.

Photoshop :: Creating A Spot Color Channel

Sep 8, 2012

How to make a Spot Color Channel on Photoshop? I am using this image as an example. The blue color in the background needs to be printed mostly with a spot color that is close to the original painting color (ex: Pantone Blue 072C) . But the CMYK color still should be present in within the blues to resemble the subtle nuances of the brush strokes. I can’t figure it out on my own.

For more samples of painting images, go to

[URL]..........

The reason I am doing this is because the artist’s works were represented on many publications over the years from many different countries. And we found out that CMYK color alone cannot duplicate the blue color very well (I mean the blue only, no problem with other colors). I know, it is hard to believe, but if you see all the publications and compare it to the original art, you would see the huge difference in color saturation and luminosity. That is the reason, I think it is necessary to use a spot blue for an upcoming catalog of the artist.

Photoshop :: Spot Color In Grayscale File

Feb 18, 2007

I'm looking for help to assign spot color (some at 100%, others as tints) of a single PMS color into selected areas of grayscale images. I understand how to use the spot color channel but I don't know how to assign tints of my color. When I import the images into InDesign, the color swatches show various instances of my PMS color and when I get ready to package the InDesign file, it shows duplicates of the color. Don't I need all instances of the single PMS color to separate onto one plate, while the black (and its tints) separate to another? I want a two-color end result.

Photoshop :: Printing In Black And White With Spot Color

Feb 18, 2013

I have PS CS6 and like to do B & W prints. I print them on my Canon MX870 printer (4 color printer) ... they turn out quite nice. VERY Black & White. Recently, I started doing B & W with a small highlight of color... like a photo of my daughter and her friends with just her red shoes in color.

The Black and White is now not truly B & W... it is slightly tinted ... purplish. I have tried adjusting the levels and contrast but it only changes the tinting to other tints... bluish, redish, etc. I use cmyk 300dpi (typical of what commercial print shops would use). Still no success. Or am I stuck having to send my photos to a printshop for printing?

Photoshop :: Exporting Spot Color Channels As Paths With Fill To Illustrator

Mar 17, 2003

I need to send vectorized art to this company that only uses Illustrator. I have never used or even opened Illustrator. Ok, I'm very familiar with Freehand so I get the basic idea about vector. I have a 3 color logo that I have saved as a Photoshop DCS .eps file with the channels saved as spot colors so I can print separations with Pantone colors. According to what I have translated from the Photoshop guide what I need to do is figure out how to get my clipping paths of each channel to retain its fill when I export paths to Illustrator. I've tried and when I open the vectorized paths in say Freehand there is only lines and no fills. Do you guys have any ideas on how I can get these file seperations to this company with Illustrator?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Spot Color Conversion

Oct 15, 2011

I've been using corel draw since version 4, and I love it. Now on x5 I cannot figure this out. I use eps files for printing large format with contour lines for cutting. My setup uses a spot color defined as "CutContour" for cutting. It seems x5 renames these colors or converts them to something else. I opened the same file in 12 and had to Reclick the same color for the cutter to see it and it worked fine. Any setting to change this?
