View 1 RepliesI'm trying to import an illustrator file which has a spot color into photoshop as a smart object. The spot color converts to four color when imported.Â
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have some smart objects in a file that I've been working on. For example, I have a simple replay button shape. But, for some reason the color of the smart object differs from the actual color of the shape. In other words, if I sample the color of the smart object it has a hex code of ae7f2c (image1). But if I double click into the smart object to see the actual shape color the hex code is correct: a37e2c (image 2). It's a very slight shift, but causing me to go off brand colors for a client that I am working for.

There is a logo that I am trying to bring into Photoshop as a smart object. I'm copying it in Illustrator and pasting in PS. However, when I do, some of the color is missing.
Â
I checked the mode and it's RGB Color and 8 bits per channel.
Using Photoshop CS5 - after scaling a smart object do I need to remake it as a smart object again?
View 3 Replies View Related1. Is there a way for masking each smart filter separately on a single smart object other than nesting one smart object into the another?
2. Is there a way for removing the previously created smart object?
I mean ... let's say I have a smart object containing four layers. Can I remove smart object from these layers?
Why doesnt the smart filter mask move with the smart object?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm running photoshop cs3. I created two different smart objects. Within each of those smart objects, I want to include another smart object. However, when I update the embedded smart object, only the partent SO is updated, the other SO seems to have a different child. here is the setup visually: canvas -> SO1 -> SO3canvas -> SO2 -> SO3 so when I update SO3 from within SO1, only SO1 is updated - SO2 stays the same.

Problem: Transform applied to Smart Object fails to transform an attached Smart Filters Mask.
Â
I mean a Transform, including Free Transform, as found in the Edit menu. A simple move by the Move Tool is OK.
Â
A workaround until this bug is squashed is to encapsulate the Smart Object + Smart Filters + Filter Mask inside another Smart Object and transform that. However, that will not be a satisfactory solution in some cases. If a filter has size parameter(s), e.g. Gaussian Blur radius, a scaling or warping/distorting transform applied after the filter will obviously differ from the filter applied after the transform.
Â
In any case, the workaround is inconvenient to subsequent editing and experimenting with filters and masks.
I render 3d object from raster and smart object (extrusion) Each time i do the edge where the extrusion meets the front inflation material is slightly distorted. Should be a smooth line.

i can duplicate this situation on calibrated NEC MultiSync monitors and uncalibrated laptops. We are running on Mac OS X.8x and above.

Designers are complaining about not being able to pick a color from the Swatch Library in AICS6 or AICC. InDesignCC does not seem to have the same issue.
I need to change the default text color to a pantone spot color.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWe print out spot color seps every day using CorelDraw X4. After we print out the plates, I have to cut down the vellum that we print on so that we do not have a bunch of extra blank vellum on the sheet.
We make use of the info that is printed on the lower left of every page where it states something like the following:
S:DirectoryWhereTheArtworkisLocatedfilename.cdr
Wednesday, December 23, 2011Â 8:00 AM
Plate: 1 of 3
After I cut down the sheet, I then have to hand write the name of the spot color onto the sheet of vellum in marker.
Is there any way at all, to make it so that CorelDraw would actually add the name of the spot color that is printed on each page to the information that is already being printed to the lower left? Ideally, it could be placed in the same area where it's already printing the plate information on the last line.
Could it read:
Plate: 1 of 3Â Color: Pantone 375
So Ive learned how to turn a color photo to B&W with spot color ...how to turn a color photo sepia, but also spot color. I have a wedding photos that I think would be a fun shot to play mixing those colors together . I have searched for the info earlier today and wasnt successful .
View 8 Replies View Relatedi noticed importing an image file from adobe illustrator into photoshop through copy and paste. but i dont have illustrator on my pc. is there a way to turn a layer or an image into a smart object without using the bridge feature they have now in CS2?
i just want to make an image into a smart object.
in cs2, i use smart object lot to replace image i mean i have to make collection of gallery of let's say mp3 albums so i have to put albums covers in my designs but exactly as i wanted in size {no matter whatever size/resolution the source (album cover) are} so smart objects always be the easiest way cos i firstly draw rectangulers in my custum size, and i covert each rectangulers to smart objects and replace every smart objects to place those albums covers. it's easiest way and since cs3 is launched, when i try to replace image of smart objects my replaced image(album cover) wont be as equal as my custum rectanguler size. this is my prob. when i place the images either they are placed bigger size than the size of smart object or smaller than smart object . can is there any process to make as shame size as smart object while placing images to smart object??? in cs2 it's possible but cs3 cs4 can't do such smart object or i'm a missing any new technique to do that? ya we can resize each placed covers to our custom size but it takes hell long time . i need shortcut way. wel in cs2 i been doin things like this using smart object which takes only 2 min to put images in my custom sized rectangular

In Photoshop, I've created my spot color channel, selected the Pantone color, pasted a greyscale version of my image into the spot color channel and removed all information from the CMYK channels.
Since my spot color channel is full of various greys, I was expecting to see a full range of TINTS in my image. But for some reason it doesn't look anything like the way I expect it to.
When I choose the same Pantone in InDesign and apply a gradient from 100% to 0% tint, I see a full range of light and dark blues. But in Photoshop everything looks grey-blue.
I thought maybe there was a difference between how the two programs display the color, so I imported the Photoshop file into InDesign anyway. But it still looks grey-blue just like it was in Photoshop.
creating spot color.
I have attached an example. The green part is where gold foil will be attached. The pink and black needs to be put into spot color.
How do you make an entire picture in grayscale but then keep one object in color or one color in color? How did they keep the yellow in this picture in color?

Currently, I'm getting the "Start-up disc is almost full" warning a little too often. It even crashed PS one time. I know you can change the Scratch Disc very easily, but I don't see any way to change how Smart Objects are handled.

I can place the same file as a smart object in B and C, but it becomes two different smart objects, which are seperately editable. I would like to be able to edit smart object D and the changes to be visible in both B and C and in turn in A.
