View 5 Replies View RelatedI am making selections of models off of a white background. I use the quick select tool and refine to make a clean selection. I go in and use the clone tool to remove the "halo" that is still there to make a super clean selection with no light bleed on the model. I put a black layer underneath to make sure that I got all of the remnants. I save the selection and turn it into a channel. I apply the layer mask and everything looks good. I flatten the image and put it on a white background (this is the desired form of delivery for client) Image saved and closed. When reopened, I make a selection using the channel and there is a distinct halo effect still present. I have tried making the selection and going over it a couple times with the brush at 100% and it works a little bit, but not entirely. I have already spent a lot of time going through cloning things out so it looks good, delivering the images, then they are sent back because of the halo.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a hatch pattern in one of my objects. I want to apply exactly the same hatch pattern to other objects but I don't remember the settings for original hatch.
There is a command in ACAD to apply properties of one object to others (brush icon in toolbar). I tries to use this command but it seams that it doesn't work for hatch.
What is easiest way to apply a hatch pattern from an object to the other one?
Is Photoshop able to determine whether a particular image has previously been modified in some way? Or are there other pieces of software that allow you to do that?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was trying to create a PDF with some modified TIFFs. The TIFFs were opened, manipulated and flattened in Photoshop to reduce file size. I then took a few TIFFs and tried to create a new PDF. When the PDF was created I zoomed into one of the pages.
Noticed that the Photoshop editing has shown thru (all of the good and removed editing). It was like all of the Photoshop editing had come thru, all though I had flattened the image at its final output.
I then tried to create another PDF. I took the flattened TIFF images and saved them as PDFs in Photoshop. This worked. However, the file size was super huge. The 'reduce file size' destroyed the clarity of the pictures.
Is there a way to create a PDF from flattened TIFFs without all of the Photoshop edits to come along?

I just ran some file synchronisation software and it reported that a JPEG file had been changed on my C drive. I didn't remember changing it so checked. I have a trial version of Photoshop CS6. It seems that if a JPEG is opened into Camera RAW and then opened into Photoshop, then Windows reports it as modified, even if no changes were made.
My question is does this behaviour result in the image being resaved with a loss of quality each time that it is opened this way?
I have a little problem. When the *.psd is transformed into *.HTML, for example, you may find an image on the HTML page acting as a button labeled as "Link1". and this image has the name templ_30.jpg. To change the text "link1" into, let we say, "Home", I have to reload the whole of the *.psd into ImageReady then go to the text layer which holds the word Link1 the change it into Home and finally do save optimized as again. By this I have got the image templ_30.jpg but with the word Home instead Link1.
What I want to ask, How can I just change the templ_30.jpg only or by other word How can I get a single image from the *.psd template where this image is an image of the HTML page produced by ImageReady.
Using CS5.5 / Win7 x64.
We do a lot of stuff using smart objects - replacing logos etc. Load the template image, swap the logo, save a new PSD file with the new logo on it in case we need it again, then save a jpeg for the client.
Oddly (and I think this has only started to happen since I've been working at home and saving onto a local drive on a laptop, rather than onto a server) the new PSD has today's date as its Date Modified, but the jpeg doesn't - it seems to use the original image's created date instead, which might be a few years ago in the case of some of the images. So when I'm attaching files to an email to send to the client, all the jpegs I want are all over the folder, instead of at the top with their associated PS files (sorted by date, newest first).
i duplicated a layer, and made the original layer invisible. i cropped the duplicated layer, and it's weird, the original layer also gets cropped. why is this isso? the duplicated layer is the one active, any ideas?i know this isn't supposed to happen, right?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently upgradedfrom "Elements 2" to Version 11. I previously saved all my edited work in JPEG format and to the "My Pictures" folder. I was then able to open all modified photos and share them with another computer without resorting to any specialised program. I wish to continue to do the same using Version 11. Having made several attempts without success to save modified photos using my well tried and successful method and having read the Manual to see why the process is not successful with Version 11 I am now exteremely frustrated. Each attempt to save a modified photo results in a Thumbnail icon being loaded into the "My Pictures" folder with the elements 11 logo. I then are only able to open the photo (which incidently does not carry the modified file name from the original) by way of the elements 11 program.

When I click on Open File, the window that comes up has several default columns (FileName, Date, Size, etc).
I can right-click on the tab bar and add "Date Modified" to the tabs, but I would like to have "Date Modified" be a default column whenever I open the file selector (and no matter which folder I open up).
I cannot find a way to do this. I want to know the last date I modified a file, not when it was created.
Is there a way to universally set this column as a default?
I have been trying to save images from one file to a final modified one. Two problems:
1) Some images are unedited and save sometimes but not always. Why?
2) Some are a combination of an original plus a transformed close-up from another image. When the finished edited image saves, it is much smaller than the few unedited images that did successfully save. Why?
The images are digital photos of my jewelry. In order to decrease the number of pages on my impending website, I am attempting to transfer, when one is available, a resized close-up to the other shot of the full set (close-ups are what sell the work!). Some of the images show 25% on the top bar but that doesn't seem to make a difference as to whether it will save or not. Others (I notice they seem to be more horizontal images) are 16.7% ? I tried to upload example images to illustrate what I am trying to do but kept getting an error message.
I have been experiencing crashes with PS 13.0.1 running on Mountain Lion. I use Portrait Professional Plugin version 2 bundles with PP 10.8.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the free trial of the VideoStudio Pro X4 a month ago and was so impressed that I went out and bought it! Then, after downloading SP!, it encountered a problem and stopped working. It was just a matter of restarting the application but it happened more and more over the weekend, meaning I lost work which I hadn’t saved. So I decided to uninstall the free trial version and install from the disk and it worked fine for a while but I then got a problem with my security program. Not sure whether it was due to the Corel installation or just coincidence.I did a system restore to fix the problem with the security program and since then I have been unable to access VideoStudio and get the message: Error 4: Corel VideoStudio files have been damaged or modified. Please reinstall your original source. But when I try I get the message: “Setup.xml could not be loaded. This may indicate that the file is corrupt”.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I switch the display mode from "Wireframe" to "Realistic" or "Shaded" a strange thing happens.Whenever I make a change (say, position, size or color), the change can't be seen in real time. I have to use my middle button to either zoom or move my point of view, and then the viewport snaps to the change I made.
Also, when I change the color of the object, it takes very long (and in a fade in way) to turn to the desired color. Here again, I have to move around the object to see the real change take effect. How do I fix this so that I see the changes in real time?
I have taken about 500 pictures today. Imported them into LR4 and used the Develop module to update about 150 of them. Now I want to save the changes back to disk.
How do I select the modified 150 files in order to save/export them?
I'm looking to filter on images that have been modified since the import. The modification could be within lightroom, or external. I have a filter setup for external files, but I can't figure out what filter to use to show files that have been modified inside lightroom.
Hopefully my request makes sense. I find I am making more changes in Lightroom (3.5) these days, and would like to filter (without setting flags/stars/colors/...) on images that I have already modified. Is this possible?

View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my plug-in I have some datagridview to show alignment data of all alignments in drawing.
I have a button called (regen) to update data in these datagridviews. I read again database drawing and re-source again datagridview. (method "upload_all")
I have read some posts and blogs about this: [URL] ....
and about overrule: [URL] ....
But I don´t understand almost.
I only want to execute method "upload_all" if some alignment is modified in the drawing.
Also, I would like to do it if some alignment is just created or deleted.

Is there a way to access the object of the last entity modified.
If a dynamic block is changed I want to collect the changes.
I'm guessing I use the AcadDocument_EndCommand to kick off the routine but don't know how to identify the modified object.
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2011. I have been working in a drawing for several weeks on casework. I have multiple viewports on my sheet layouts. Up until now I was able to select the viewports and move them or make them bigger or smaller with grip edit but now although I see them I can't select them or even delete them. I can double click within the viewport and change the scale or modify the items in the viewport but I can't do anything to the viewport in paper space.
I have turned all the layers on and made sure that none of them were locked. I have tried regen. I have opened a new tab and tried to create new viewports and I have the same problem. I can create them but once I do I can't modify / move them.
Beyond that when I switch from model to paper space it takes about 5 min. sometimes longer to switch and the same thing when I save it or close it. Is that normal?
I have a group of classes that essentially implement the Model View Controller pattern. The view is a custom control contained in a PaletteSet. The Model is a class that wraps the ObjectID of a given block. I've used these classes to create a replacement for the Properties tool in AutoCAD (2011). Basically the UI can be used to edit the properties of a Dynamic Block. But I apply my own rules and behaviors to the UI.
I had no problems until I added support for the View to be updated when the block is modified (say by dragging to increase a length property). To do this I handle the Modified event of the block. After the block is modified, some rules are evaluated. If the rules result in changes to the block's properties, these changes are applied. This last part is where I'm having trouble.
When the "Rule Evaluation" code is invoked because of changes to the view (WinForms Controls), I am able to update the block's Properties using the following code without issue:
Public Shared Function SetParameter(ByVal BlockID As ObjectId, ByVal ParameterName As String, ByVal Value As Double) As Boolean
Using dl As DocumentLock = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument.LockDocument(DocumentLockMode.ProtectedAutoWrite, Nothing, Nothing, True)
Using myTrans As Transaction = BlockID.Database.TransactionManager.StartTransaction
Dim myBRef As BlockReference = BlockID.GetObject(OpenMode.ForWrite)
For Each myDynamProp As DynamicBlockReferenceProperty In myBRef.DynamicBlockReferencePropertyCollection
If myDynamProp.PropertyName.Equals(ParameterName, StringComparison.OrdinalIgnoreCase) Then
myDynamProp.Value = Value
myTrans.Commit()
Return True
End If
Next
Return False
End Using
End Using
End Function
However, when this same code is invoked as a result of the BlockReference Modified event, AutoCAD completely crashes the momment the transaction.Commit() method is called. I've attempted to catch the exception causing the crash and role back the transaction, but AutoCAD simply exits and displays the error (Error handler re-entered. Exiting now.) and no exception is caught. Note that I do not use the BlockReference instance passed to the Modified event handler. Instead I store an ObjectID instance elsewhere which is consistently used to read/write the block.
Is there something I must do before commiting a transaction when using the Modified event of BlockReference? I checked, and the same "Main Thread" is executing whether the code is invoked from a UI event or the Modified event. I tried calling the Close method, which is attributed as Obsolete, on the BlockReference object before executing the transaction without any success.
Upgraded to 2012 yesterday. Today I've noticed that WIPEOUTs no longer have grips when they are selected. It also seems as though they cannot be modified via the STRETCH command.
All I can think of off the top of my head is to explode the wipeout, isolate the elements, reassemble them as a polyline, modify as desired and then recreate the wipeout from the polyline. But that's hardly efficient.
No grips wasn't too bad, but not responding to a stretch seems stupid. We use wipeouts in many of our blocks. We may take one block and modify it to create another similar block. Recreating the wipeouts because they wouldn't stretch or couldn't be easily modified to adapt to the new geometry will be a real waste of time.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI noticed that when we convert NEF files to DNG in it properties the Date Created and Date Modified are changed to the present date and not the original dates of the files in question. Is there any way to make such a conversion without changing these properties? Yes, I know 'Date taken' does not change--but this info does not show up when you hover a file only the info in its properties. Also am I correct in assuming that this conversion is 100% loss-less, nothing but nothing is lost in the quality and info of the file (besides the file size)?
