Is there any way to undo things you have done before you saved and quit photoshop just to realize you messed up?

Is there anyway to reverse the effects of using dodge, without undoing?
That is, is there some kind of brush like dodge that will..."undodge"?

Sometimes this happens to me in using selection tools, especially the Lasso tools where I want to subtract from or add toan existing selection, but I hit the wrong key and end up adding to it instead.
Then, you undo, make your selection again and hopefully you've rememberd to hit the correct modifyer key..
Is there a way to, after making your selection, to tell photoshop to do the opposite of what you've just told it to? In other words, if you added when you meant to subtract, have PS do the opposite function, but using the same selection you made, so that you don't have to do that part again?

I have this image that was edited. It was a photo that had black blocks put on it, censoring it (by probably MS Paint).
But anyway, when the file is in a folder, I can see the image (in the preview part of a folder in Windows) as a thumbnail without the blocks, like the blocks are gone. But when I open the image, the blocks are there.
The part of the image I need is obviously in the file, in a lower "layer" (per se).
How do I uncover it?
I have Photoshop 6 and GIMP and played around with both and I cannot seem to do it. Can anyone help me?

Picasa's Recrop feature restores the marquee from before you click Commit on a crop, which allows me to adjust or tweak the marquee. Is there an equivalent command in Photoshop Elements? It's a BIG time saver.

I would like to reversing a Boolean operation if an error happens.
I have two solids that when I try to perform a Subtract Boolean Operation gives me an error. When the error happens I lose both solids. I would like to be able to reverse the subtraction in an event of an error so that I still have both solids.
Dim Solid_1 as Solid3d = CreateSoldFromPl(plinePoints1)
Dim Solid_2 as Solid3d = CreateSoldFromPl(plinePoints1)Try
Solid_1.BooleanOperation(BooleanOperationType.BoolSubtract, Solid_2)
End Try

I have this consistent problem, can duplicate it.
1-create new document
2-create a simple vector shape (rectangle, circle, etc.)
3-Convert to bitmap (i used default settings)
4-Trace (I used LOGO, but I don't think it matters)
5-Undo until it's vector again.
Program closes.

I am working in AutoCAD 2013 on a .dwg drawing. There is a section of hatch that was exploded at some point and I want to set the individual hatch lines back to a hatch grouping, but since it was done long ago, using the undo command is not an option. It there a way I can take all of the individual hatch lines and group them back into a hatch?
My goal is to get the individual hatch marks back to a hatch group so that way I can use the hatch editor to modify the hatch style. Is this possible?

I have a large assembly in Inventor Pro 2012 where I'm trying to show the installation process in Presentation. Since the sequences behave as opposite to an explosion, all the parts return to their original location after a tweak.
However if I am trying to show a jig that works in the installation process that I want to show being removed, how can I do that. In the assembly, the jig is constrained to the the part being installed, which makes it very difficult to show it being removed since the move happens first then it mates to the part during an animation. Any way to reverse the animation sequence?

I have some difficulty in reversing the text on a leader to the opposite side. As per the picture below, it is on the right side, but I would like to move it to the left. When I drag it, the whole leader goes with it. The text in reference here is the one with ".06 x 45.

I have an assembly that I thought in the beginning of its creation I thought I would be able to add welds to it.
I wasn't successful which is not the issue, but rather since I have NO welds on this, and this assembly shows as a weld model, is there a way to reverse this? I need to add an assembly cut to this model and it is not allowing me due to this.

When I import new photos in the catalog, it reverses the chronological order in which they were taken - i.e., for photos taken on the same day, it would show the latest first.I don't think I changed any settings regarding the importing of photos in the catalog.

I need to activate a timeline event on a symbol with a button press on another object, then when the button is pressed again, reverse the timeline event. This will have something sliding in and out of the stage.
If the animation is placed right at 0.00 and there's nothing else, then this code works OK:
if (sym.getPosition() == 0)
{
sym.play();
}
else
{
sym.playReverse();
}
However there is other animation that plays automatically on page load, then a trigger stops all animation. The animation I need to trigger is a couple of seconds later bracketed by labels 'start' and 'stop'. So I need to code the button A to get the symbol B and animate from 'start' to 'stop' and then wait. Then on a further press to animate from 'stop' to 'start'. But I'm damned if I can get anything to work.

If I were to work on a file and proceed to close it and then re-open it with the intent of undoing or recovering information, is there anyway to do this?
It may be useful for me and others to know if there is a way round in case this does happen.

When using the undo command, plotting or switching between drawings in Autocad 2010 and now also 2011 I am experiencing long delays of up to 15-20 seconds at a time which is rather frustrating. I am running a fast spec computer and can't seem to overcome it, I haven't had the problem with 2009 and when need to do something quickly have found myself using the outdated software. Other users in the same office have equal or lesser spec computers and are not having the same issues, I have tried a re-install and this hasn't worked either. I was hoping the new 2011 version would solve this issue but no luck.

I tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?

I've deleted my PS preferences and restarted, and I cannot get this filter to do what is was just doing a day earlier. It doesn't matter what the foreground/background colors are, nor does it matter what the resolution of the file is. I've experimented with every variable. The filter effect changes the filled layer to a solid color of the current foreground color. No lines, dots or circles at all.
I'm trying to make lines in a filled layer, or a rasterized text layer.Adjusting the sliders has no effect at this point, but the other Gallery filters DO work, oddly enough.
I've used this filter effect many times over the years, and it just started acting wonky. This is PS CS6, on Mac OSX 10.8.5.It seems to be unpredictable or temperamental. Is there a reasonably-priced plugin that will create lines that are completely adjustable?

I have Photoshop CS4 running on a 8 gig Vista 64 bit system. When I click on Filters, there is no Extract Filter. I did a search prior to posting and saw some threads talking about not moving files, icons etc from their original folder. I am un sure if anything has been moved. However, when I click on Filters, they all seem to be there (at least not greyed out), EXCEPT for the Extract filter. Any help would be apprecited and if you let me know where the filters should reside I can make sure they are in the correct location.

What filter do you use the most and why?
I think I'd have to say Smart Sharpen for sharpening up digital photographs and making them look as crisp as possible (before they look too crisp of course).
