Photoshop :: Error :: That Says Etc Etc Memory Cannot Be Read...
Sep 2, 2008
i had CS3 running fine for as long as i can remember.. (on winxp pro sp3 32bit)
then all of a sudden today when i try to start it.. it opens and the splash screen comes up, then when it gets to 'initializing palettes' i get an error that says etc etc memory cannot be read...
i uninstalled, ran the cleaner, deleted all cs3 folders in docs&settings.. reinstalled.. same problem ...
i have downloaded the trial version to test ps.when i click save it exits Photoshop..and after about 15 minutes a error comes up and it says "memory could not read"
I recently installed CS4 and when I quit Photoshop CS4 I get a "DDE Server... memory could not be 'read'" error. I've looked all over the forums for solutions to this, tried deleting my preferences file, reinstalling CS4, and fiddling with performance options, but nothing seems to make a change. I never had much trouble with CS2 or CS3.
While working on a complicated project involving copying and pasting into PSCS4 from several applications I received this error and Photoshop closed down with loss of my work.
I'm in Windows XP Pro SP3 and using a workstation with 2GB of error correcting memory. I had no such problems in PS3 and other applications work fine.
I am using Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended Student Edition. My computer is Windows XPI continue to get the error Photoshop exe Aplication ErrorInstructions at oxofa92c5b sometimes is states oxofc42c5breference memory oxoooooo28 Memory could not be read Cancel or debug. it shuts down. no matter what you click. It does this after I get the picture open and when I click on different tools. This is newly installed on my computer and newly bought program.
when I try to open an existing file or create a new one -- the application will shut down unexpectedly and without warning. But I also experience application errors: 'Instruction at "0x1a3c4b6b" referenced at memory "0x00000028" Memory could not be read.
My computer is installed 4GB ram, it's running on Windows XP pro SP3(32bit version, My computer properties show 3GB physical memory). However, in the photoshop memory usage(Edit>>preference>>performance) show available RAM is 1678MB only.
What's problem occur? How can I using more memory?
I do have problem with my newly installed CorelDraw X5. Before X5 we used Corel 12 in our company.
I have project file (150 MB) with lots of text, bitmaps, vectors - about 100 pages. File opens but I can't save it. I always get OUT OF MEMORY error. I even tried to divide this file into 2 smaller parts but still doesn't work.
What I noticed - Corel X5 after clean start (without opened project) takes about 80MB of RAM in task manager. When I open project usage changes from 80MB to 1,2GB. While saving it takes 1,6GB of RAM and it crashes.
To compare - Corel 12 and after opening same project file Corel 12 takes much less of memory - about 770MB and it works without problem.
I am getting some unknow error in autccad and error details are as below
System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt. at System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs.set_Source(Object value)
I get this error "sometimes". It really doesn't seem to have any pattern, i run the calculation several times, it always stops at different point or it finishes successfully.
only connection is the method. It's always at Autodesk.AutoCAD.DatabaseServices.Entity.IntersectWith(Entity entityPointer, Intersect intersectType, Point3dCollection points, IntPtr thisGraphicSystemMarker, IntPtr otherGraphicSystemMarker)
I installed Adobe Design Premium Suite CS4 4 days ago in HP Compaq dc5100 SFF. I have C drive over 9GB of free space and I am running with 2GB of RAM and 2.80 GHz speed. I encounter an error message popping out in couple of minutes, when I open Photoshop each time as following The instruction at "0x1c904b6b" referenced memory "0x00000028."Â The memory could not be "read." Click OK to terminate the program The following steps I did to resolve the problem, but nothing resolved the problem1) I have increased the RAM to 2GB2) In Photoshop preferences setting, I originally had the default 50% ram given to adobe.. and then tried 75%.3) I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Design Premium Suite CS4 The error message is now recurring so that it is impossible for me to work. Any ideas to resolve this memory problem?

Just installed CS6 about a month ago and at different points of taxing the program and my system and on various tools or events in Photoshop, I get an error that tells me there is not enough ram to complete the task.
I'm using CS6 Extended 64-bit and my comp specs are:
Windows 7 Pro 16 gigs of DDR3 memory Intel i-7 second gen chip ATI Radeon 5500 with 2 gigs onboard memory
And all of my stuff is up to date - including PS. I've allocated 75% of the system memory to PS in the preferences.
when I am converting RAW images via CS3 - ACR, I get the message "Not Enough Memory"
This happens when I try to convert more than 25 or so images during one Photoshop session. If I close down Photoshop and then reopen the program I can usually convert another 25 or so images before getting the message again. When I used CS2, I would be able to convert 100 or so RAW images with no problems.
I am not sure what to do.
My system is a Dell XPS with an Intel Core 2 Quad, with 4GB of ram.
I have given 80% (or 1.270 Gigs) of RAM to PS CS3 Extended. Everything works well until I use the new "Quick Selection Tool (W)." Whenever I use it, I get the message, "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)." The "Magic Wand" and all the other tools work great.
This happens regardless of what else is happening on the computer. Usually only PS and PS Bridge are the only apps open. And it doesn't matter how many images are open. I'm running Windows XP.
I am using CS and just recently ran into an error that is starting to frustrate me. I just upgraded from a P4 2.4 with 512mb of RDRAM to a P4 3.4 with 1024mb of DDR2 SDRAM. I never had this problem before, but I'm trying to filter>distort and I keep running into "not enough sufficient ram" errors. i closed all my other running programs and tried again. same error. so, i restarted the computer and ran PS again only to have the same problem. The picture is 8.5x11 at 500dpi. I increased the memory allowance from 50% to 70% and added more space for the scratch disc and still nothing. Whats going on? Isnt 1GB ram enough or do I need more?
i'm using photoshop CS, when i try pasting an image from other apps like macromedia fireworks, i will receive an error, not enough memory (RAM) . however, i have more than 200MB of free memory stated in my task manager. I find this very weird, i have check other setttings in photoshop, they're in default settings. i have tried to allocate more memory to photoshop, but nothing work!
I am Using Adobe Photoshop CS3 Version 10.0 and I keep getting the error "Not enough Scratch memory available to perform this action" whenever I try to Save a .psd file to a .jpg/.jpeg file.
I did go to Edit -> Preferences -> Performance, and add my other two partitions as scratch disks, also put up my E: drive as the primary scratch disk on the top of the list (Which has 80GB's of space) but I still keep getting this error.
My file (the .psd that i am trying to save to a .jpg) has a total size of 56MB and 300dpi with 4 or 5 layers in it and the target jpg file is supposed to be 12inches by 20inches.
Some other things I have tried is celaring the %temp% folder, Defragmenting my Hard Drive(s), Disk Cleanup, set my System Page file to 4GB, but all this is of no use.I know that I have enough RAM and Hard disk space.
does the type of RAM and Processor you are using effect this? I have a DDR RAM.. 2GB, I know its outdated, its our office computer I am working on.. My Processor is a Core 2 Duo which isnt bad.
I have an HP Pavilion 730. I have purchased the upgrade to CS4 and it has been working for a while. Now all of a sudden, when I open the program, the computer goes "boink" and a message comes up that says:
The instruction at "Ox77e78804" referenced memory at "0x0at1a1470". The memory could not be written. Click OK to terminate or click cancel to debug program.
No matter which one I do, it shuts down CS4 totally?
I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and it still does the same thing.
I previously used PS CS on XP Pro and all was fine. I then upgraded to Vista. Since I reverted back to XP Pro I keep getting error messages.
When I use the 'Open as' command, I get: "Could not complete your request because it is not a valid Photoshop document" (yet it's a JPG) - works ok if I just usen File >Open.
When I try and shut/close down the file/program, I get: "Could not complete the Close command becuase there is not enough memory (RAM)"
Strangley enought these messages then just disappear. Really stuggling to use this software due to the annoying pop up messages.
While working on a complex project with PSCS4 that involved copying and pasting from numerous open documents, I have been receiving an error message shown in the link. PS then shuts down with loss of my data.
I'm running Windows XP Pro with a dual Xeon processor workstation with 2GB of error correcting memory. PS3 and other applications have been working properly.
We have Photoshop CS2 running on Windows XP SP2 machine with 3 GB memory. Whenever we try to open illustrator CS3 file in Photoshop get following error message:
"Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory(RAM)".
We used to be able to do this without any problems untill I upgraded the memory from 2 GB to 3 GB. Dell technician came and changed the memory chips on the PC still get the same message. I went into performance monitor and not much memory is in use when this error comes up. Tried opening just one application at a time too. Is there any patch that I need to install on the PC.
I am trying to mrge 4 photos into 1. 6MP photos. core 173632QM 2.2 with 32GB RAM. win 8 64 bit
How can I possibly get an error saying "Could not fill because there is not enough RAM" on a 32GB RAM system? Is there a setting I need to set somewhere to make it use more?
When I use the image processor in PSCS4 to process a large number of raw files using ACR 5.1 (Nikon D3 NEFs), I consistently receive an error message after about 10-11 files have been processed that the instruction at 0x696336ab tried to read memory at 0x6C (or thereabouts) and the memory could not be read. I am saving as JPEGs with the color space set to sRGB.
I de-installed and reinstalled PSCS4, but the error persists. The image processor worked fine with PSCS3. A workaround that solves the problem is to process the files as a batch using a simple action to accomplish the task.
I am running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3 with a dual Xeon processor and 2G of error correcting memory.
I was working and rendering in the program and it was working just fine, then just today i was rendering and i got "out of memory error" and it stopped working and just closed. I restarted the program and when i selected an object it just stopped working again and i got the out of memory error again. I have about 200 GB free space so i don't know whats wrong, I'm running Windows 7 32bit.
How is it possible for Mental Ray to give me an out of memory error on a Windows 7 professional 64-bit machine using the 64-bit Max Design? I have 4GB of physical memory, but whenever a program needs more memory Windows allocates virtual memory to it, so theoretically my memory limit should be my hard drive space. However, when I try to render my scene with a little less than 200k polys with a displacement map on it (trying to get grass), the task manager shows 3dsmax.exe using up to 4.3GB of commit memory (4gb working memory), then it crashes.
I've set Windows to use up to 16gb for my pagefile, so it seems like mental ray isn't actually 64-bit since it crashes right at the 4gb limit of a 32-bit program.

Giving me 'insufficient memory was available to complete the operation' when trying to place and image (jpg ~23mb) inside a .ai file which is just a few KB large.
Could not complete this operation. There is not enough scratch memory available.when trying to save for web. The content has a lot of linked images, around 1000x1000 px each, used with clipping masks, drop shadows and glows at 300dpi.I realize that this might be hard to flatten for JPEG and I'd be fine with long processing times (which I get) but out of memory?.
Those are all gigabytes, not megabytes, no mistake. There's NO WAY that there's not enough scratch memory available. And this is how the process looks; Physical memory usage at this point is 62%, Commit charge - 15%.
Currently, I can work around this by making a screenshot of "Original" tab in Save for Web dialogue when it's there - because sometimes it's just a pink-filled window.
