I read in this magazine a week ago about making a swatch from an image. I forgot how it was done.
for example, you find an image online and like the color scheme. You can do create a new swatch that has all the colors in that image only.
I've been looking for scripts online that would create a color swatch legend to list the colors used in my illustrator file. I found this (see below) and tweaked it to place properly on my particular page, but it adds everything in my swatches panel to the legend. Ideally, I'm looking for a piece of script to add that would only add used swatches to the legend, or a script that would only add spot colors to the legend.Â

My CorelMacros.CreateColorSwatch macro has stopped dumping the swatches into whatever blank Letter-sized document I have open (which is how it used to work) and instead it is creating a new document, at 4.25" wide x 7" high, and dumping the swatches into that. Using Pantone Solid Coated, but it's doing this regardless of what palette I choose.
There is no option in the Macro's dialog box to alter or even instantiate a page size, and I cannot find in the code of the macro where to set this variable.
To create a special effect (but not TOO garish!) I'd like to change this brownish meadow so that it looks much more like one of the swatches from my color swatches panel.

Do I need to create a new adjustment layer, or are there other approaches? Below is a screen shot.
I have a colored object, and I have a specific swatch of color that I need to change the current color of the object to. The problem I'm having is that the specific color that I'm trying to apply to the object doesn't look integrated with the object itself, it just looks like I've applied a color film over it. It's milky-looking and there's not enough contrast. I've tried adjusting levels, using different blending modes, using the Match Color command ..I can't seem to keep the integrity of the color I'm applying to the object, while still keeping the integrity of the details of the object itself. How should I tackle this using multiple layers and blending modes, and so the new color looks integrated and believable?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project where I am colorizing roughly 20 images using gradient maps with two different swatches from a color scheme of eight swatches. I'd like to create a color swatch library that I can access and also change out swatches easily so that if the client doesn't like a particular color, I could change that swatch and it would automatically change in all the files using that color library. (The gradient maps would be created by using an adjustment layer, not done to the actual image, if that makes a difference.) Is this possible? Normally I colorize grayscale .psd files directly in InDesign, but the image contrast and clarity is much better when adjusting the color in Photoshop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a relative newcomer to Photoshop CS5. I have been creating a document with a background image layer and a couple of text box layers. The font is set at Arial, italic, sharp. When I save the document as a PDF file, random words appear in bold. I have tried deleting these words in the PSD document text layer and retyping them but they still appear as bold in the PDF file. Interestingly when I save as a JPEG image the bold words appear as normal. CS5 version is 12.0.4 and OS is Windows XP.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a shape with a Pantone Color and then decrease the opacity in the color swatch palette, then go to my swatches palette and select "Select All Unused Colors" it highlights the pantone color being used in the file. In previous version, it never did this.  This is for CS6. Any know fix for this?

Choose the Magic Wand tool , making sure "contiguous" is checked in the Options bar. Select the rectangle under "Monochromatic (Single Hue)". Press Alt+Backspace (Windows) or Option+Delete (Mac OS) to fill the selection with the foreground color.Â
#Open the Color Picker and select two values of your base color. Apply your color selections to the "Values" swatches.
Next, select two intensities, and apply to the "Intensities" swatches.
Now that you've got your color palette, combine the colors into a swatch set. Use the Rectangular Marquee tool to draw stripes and fill with the colors you've selected above. This is a space to experiment with how the colors look next to each other.
Ready for the fun part? Make a selection around the client logo using the Rectangular Marquee tool. The logo has been separated into layers to make color application easy. First, apply color to the "bg" layer. Sample a color swatch using the Eyedropper tool , then press Alt/Option-Backspace to fill with color.
Keeping the selection active, click the "top curves" layer. Sample a color with the Eyedropper tool, then press Alt / Option-Backspace. Move on to the "middle curves" layer. Select a color, and fill.
Next up, "bottom curves":
I would like to create a polyline in a plane that is not WCS. I am able to do so with the 3D polyline. My problem is that 3D polyline does not allow for a Bulge in the polyline.

I now need to fill in the counties with various shades of gray, with no two neighboring counties sharing the same shade. I've been going about it in a sort of trial and error fashion, but I can't ever seem to get it right. Is there a way that Photoshop could possibly fill it in for me? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles loading a .avi file into the diffuse color swatch.I am following tutorial which comes with 3ds max.(Animation Tutorials-Creating Explosions) There is a plane and i must load a video file with explosion (.avi) and assign that material to it.So i make new mateial,choose Bitmap on Deffuse color swatch and when i browse for the video file i can see it in the browse window but when i select it i cant click "Open". Also 3ds max comes with the tutorial files ready , so i tried to open the ready scene and in it , the plane is with assigned material on it,but the .avi file can not be seen, even when u render the scene.)

Creating a Swatch from the gradient is not a solution for me, as I use the same base color in different gradients.
we have a website concept in Illustrator CS3, with named swatches for all colors. I'm wondering if there is an easy or 'semi-automated' way to generate a chart of the swatches we are using, showing there hex values?

I know I could draw out a bunch of boxes, fill them with the swatch colors, and manually look up and type in the hex values for each. But this would take a LONG time, as there are a number of color variations.
Whenever I try to create a new CMYK color swatch it automatically opens pattern swatch name panel. Why won't it let me create a color swatch?

When I try to do this, the entire library, including all the default swatches, are saved, when all I want are the particular swatches I've added to a new colour group. I want to be able to save swatch libraries for various clients, then be able to access them in InDesign and Photoshop as well. Or alternatively, is there a way to remove unwanted swatches from a swatch library once it's been saved? (Using CS6 on a Mac running 10.8.4)
