View 9 RepliesI am working on an assembly that is designed around a box (bounding box) that could change size. I modeled the bounding box and placed it in a new assembly file. All other parts have been created within the assembly by referencing that bounding box with starting work plane and project geometry.
The problem comes in when I change the bounding box dimensions. The work planes for each additional part, which were defined by the faces of the bounding box, do not move when the sides move. Also, my projected geometry is not updating correctly. This is a simple box, with all 90° corners. So, all associated parts (at this point) are just rectangles.
I read in this magazine a week ago about making a swatch from an image. I forgot how it was done.
for example, you find an image online and like the color scheme. You can do create a new swatch that has all the colors in that image only.
I was wondering what is the best way to save a photoshop file such as a business card or stationary labels so they "KEEP" their color you see on screen.
I am already building in CMYK mode. My Client has a nice gray scale scheme but I am worried that the print shop will mess up the colors.
How do I create a custom set of colors and adhere to that scheme throughout the clients stationary and media.
ie. Cards, Labels, Signs, etc.
Is there an option to print a color scale along with the image, sorta like when you calibrate your printer?
I'm having issues with parts that were drawn in 2012 being a different color in 2013. It's the same color just a noticeably different shade. Not all parts have this color difference.
It only does this on certain parts so I when I have a bunch of the same parts mated together in an assembly it renders out with different shades and looks goofy.
See pic attached - All piping is Dark Grey in color - The verticals right below the top valves are a different shade - When I check both colors in the part files they are listed as Dark Grey.
A while back I took a Photoshop class and remember a lesson on where you could select a region of an image and save it for the web with a high quality and select another region of the same image and save it for the web with a low quality, so that the focal point was saved with a high quality and the background was saved with a low quality. I have no idea where my notes are from this class and can not remember at all how to do this. Can anyone direct me to a tutorial about this?

This happens under any condition. I have tried different shapes and everything but i get the same thing. How to successfully create parts in the assembly and save the m out as part of the project?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using Inventor 2012. I have a part that has 3 different inserts of a different material that I have to cut out. So I create 3 different assemblies with the part and the the 3 different inserts. Then I create 3 parts to derived the cutouts. Then 3 new assemblies to create the final assembly with the part and its insert.
Does Inventor 2014 have a way to do this with an i Assembly? I can't seem to derive a member of an i Assembly now. In my old CAD system I was able to create a table with one assembly that contained one part, three different inserts and 3 different cutouts. Right now this seems like a lot of work.
Was wondering what program people use to create parts manuals for the Inventor models.

Is there a way to create another parts list with different options or delete it and create a different one? If I do delete it and create a new one the options are greyed out. I am creating a dynamic block for our PPart (production parts) callouts on our drawings. It's an arrow with a line, a bubble on top of the line, and text inside that will say P62, P50, etc. etc. This is my first attempt at dynamic blocks.
From the top quadrant of the bubble to the bottom tip of the arrow I've assigned a Polar Stretch parameter so that way when it's inserted you can grab the grip at the top of the bubble and stretch it in any direction it's needed and it rotates around the arrow point.
My question is if there's a way to keep the text inside the bubble to always be horizontal. I guess it would need to rotate in the opposite direction as the bubble when it's being moved around? Or would I have to set it to be perpendicular or parallel to some point.
I have some color pictures, and I was wondering if it was possible to make most of the picture black and white, while other parts stay in color. I've found some tutorials using the channel mixer, and calculations and stuff like that to make them b&w and I'm comfortable with that. Are there ways I can leave certain parts of pictures (like a sweater, or hair) in color?

Is there a was to export an assembly into a single solid part.
I have a part that was derived from an assembly. However now I need to make this part have different center dimensions. Is there a way to make a derived part into an iPart without creating more parts? see attachment.
I am using Inventor 2012. BTW the part is more detailed than I am showing in the attachment.
I want to select a specific color from within the image, and change all similar colors within that image to a different color. In other words, after using the Color Picker Tool to select a color from the image, I want to take the selected color (and everything in the image that is equal to or similar in color), and change them all to a different color.
I tried using the Path's Tool to create an outline in the image, and changing colors that way, but it changes all the other colors in the selection I don't want to change. I just want to change all colors in the image/selection that are equal to or similar to the selected color. How do I do this?

How do i cut out multiple parts of an image for example if i want to isolate a tree from the background and cut out the gaps in the foliage as well as the outline.
I have been using refine edge and the quick select tool and getting great results, its creates a layer each time but i cant work out how to show all the cut outs i can only seem to see one at a time instead of all the transparent background, i assume its something to do with layers and masking perhaps.
