i can visualize a PSD or AI from Windows without opening the program?
WINDOWS 7
PHOTOSHOP CS6
This just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008. (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?
I am working in PS 7 OS 10.1.5. I have a file that was working on, saving as I went along. I closed the file and when I tried to reopen it, the file would not open. I get a message ... File can not be opened because of a program error...
View 9 Replies View RelatedHow do I change a specific file type association in Bridge CS5, namely the .psd file type? I had installed Photoshop CS6, but am unable to use it due to extreme slowness (another problem, not for this question). I have reverted to using Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5.
Now when I double-click on a .psd file in Bridge CS5 to open it (or right-click on the .psd file) , the file opens up in the glacially slow CS6. I went to edit> preferences>file type associations to change the association to Photoshop CS5, but .psd is not listed as a file type (.jpg and .dng and a host of other file types are listed). How can I change the association if I cannot find the file type? (BTW: I have changed the file type association in Windows Explorer; I am running Windows XP.) I know I can open PS CS5 manually and scroll to the image I want to open but, to my mind, that defeats one of the main purposes of Bridge.
When opened, PS CS6 generates a "Could not complete your request because of a program error" dialog. I click OK and the program runs. However, File>Automate>PhotoMerge generates Error 8800 with reference to Line: 1085 --> if ((app.systemInformation.search(/PhotomergeUI/) < 0
I delete the program, reload from Cloud and it runs OK until update the program via cloud services. Repeat above error sequence.
I have Windows 7 64 pro installed. Tried the CC on Windows 8 64bit pro and they didn't play well together. Windows 7 seems to work fine. Good enough. So, I have the 64 bit version of PS CC pinned to the taskbar. When I click on it, it opens right up. Then if I go to Lightroom 5 and open a file, it opens right up in Photoshop CC 64 bit. However, if PS is not open and I open a file from lightroom, Photoshop CC 32bit opens. Not what I want.
Ok, so you say go the defaults menu and change the default opening program? Doesn't work. Switches right back to CC 32bit.
I tried reinstalling, uninstalling, reinstalling, updating the graphics driver...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI download PSCS6 beta, and since then, there are some files that I cannot open at all.Got a message ( in both, PS CS 5.1 and in CS6 ) that say;
"Could not complete you request because a program error"
I am working on a picture file, jpegs, changing the size, the level, etc. I open several pictures usually 3 or 4 and when I try to open the next I receive a pop up error message that says: "Could notcomplete your request because of a program error.” This has just started to happen recently, probably since I upgraded to CS6. Previously I could work on a file and have 100 or so pictures
open and still be able to open additional pictures. I have downloaded and in installed all availableupdates and the message I receive when I check for updates is:
“Your applications are up-to-date as checked less than a minute ago.” I tried to Edit>Purge>All, Reset Preferences, Deleted the Adobe Photoshop Ver. 6 Prefs.psp folder and pressed Ctrl+Alt+Shift on Photoshop startup and deleted Adobe Photoshop Settings file. Did not work, what next?
When I tap on an image in my Window's photo folder, a selection of programs pop up, but PS Elements is not one of the. When I press on browse, PS Elements 11 can not be found.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhenever he starts Photoshop up, all of his auto recovery files open. For example - when he goes to open a psd of a web design, he will get about 25 files opening with the title "JobName recovered".
I had a meander around the forums looking for possible fixes and information about the Auto Recovery feature, but so far have not been able to cure this ailment.
I have previously disabled the Auto Recovery feature as well as deleting the auto recovery files, yet this was only had a band-aid to amuptation effect. The auto recovery files have reappeared and are now opening again upon start up.
The photo sharing feature in PSE 10 does not work in Windows 7. Nor can an image be attached to an email, PSE 10 appears to be seriously flawed and not fit for purpose.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have successfully saved my file, shut down Photoshop without incident, and yet upon opening CS6 it starts opening the latest autorecovery file. I need to have autorecovery on for the work loss protection it provides, but it can get confusing to have an Autorecovery file open instead of the file I had meant to open. ( This is also happening on a colleague's computer.)
I'm running Mac OS X version 10.8.3
2x2.66 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon
64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
CS6 Version 13.0.4
It's happened several times with a variety of files. They are all Grayscale layered PSB's, in the 1.5 - 3 GB range.
Photoshop CC is not among the programs listed and Windows won't let me add it to the list. Oddly, Illustrator CC is listed. How do I rectify this? I have Photoshop CS6 installed and that is listed. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.
View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday, I started getting an error when trying to set the default colors and then flipping them. I also get a program error when I try to click on the foreground color and manually assigning it with white.
This is a Windows 7 Ultimate, with PS CS6.
I closed the program twice and ran into the same problem, then rebooted and got the same errors. As far as I can tell, this is the only tool or feature acting up, other than the actions which have this step in them.
Looking for an easy fix first, of course. Like maybe deleting the Prefs file? Mac people seem to have to do that regularly.
But, if nothing works, will I need to uninstall PS and reinstall it? Would that also mean I'd have to install all of my filter packages again, too?
I try to run Photoshop.exe, but it doesn't respond. I get this error message. How to fix it? I have no idea where is a problem? I had no problems with it earlier.

I just installed Autodesk Inventor Pro 2014 as a student for my engineering class and I have yet to get it to work properly. Every time I try to open the program, it will open to the main selection page. But the first click I do on the screen causes it to say 'not responding'. I have to close the program and try opening it again. The second time, it does not even get past the opening screen. It freezes and I end up having to log off of my user and log back in. I have the 64-bit version that matches my computer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedUpon opening program it has begun to freeze. I have researched and discovered that I have a file in my catalog lrcat.lock. I have deleted the file and sometimes the program will work normally. Then for no apparent reason it will lock up again upon reopening. I go back to the catalog and the lrcat.lock file is back.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my PC to Windows 7 and a new Hard Drive. I was able with XP to open my RAW files, but not now. I am using a Nikon D5100, I have Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3.2. I did download the DNG Converter 7.4 and installed it, but still unable to view the files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't come from the computer (not BIOS beeps), but through the speakers. I've isolated it down to when I open a .psd file, any .psd file, I hear several beeps ranging from 5-13+ beeps. I think it might be a warning of some sort, I've checked my event viewer, but there isn't any log.
I think it may have something to do with the file size, the smaller the size, the fewer the beeps. The larger the size, the more beeps - i.e. a 7mb .psd file yielded 4 beeps, a 24mb .psd file yielded about 20 beeps.
I just find it odd that it only happens in this application and only when I open a .psd.
How to get the windows from NOT opening under the options bar? I have to zoom the window each time so I can access the document bar and it is driving me MAD!!!!See how my top gray document bar is hidden? If I hit the zoom out then it pops under the control bars.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have PhotoShop Elements 6 installed. I have never felt the need to 'upgrade' so still on 6.. I have installed a patch to Windows as recommended by regular Windows 'security scan' in the past few days. I do not want to rewind to before the patch as, presumably, it is required. It was working fine last week opening as required. Now it seems to be about to open when clicked but then does not. Nothing in Task Manager to show it might be running in the background. I've tried running PSE as administrator, Changing compatibility to other Windows.
