I need to pan and zoom over a still image to create a short video. I remember the process was to mark a track over the still, with points along this path that required time to transit and the degree of zoom. On playback, it was like a video.
Think of the still as a hillside shot with a road winding from top to bottom. The video captured a zoomed in frame of just the road. Eventually, at the bottom, the frame slowly zoomed out displaying most of the still. How do I do this?
Exporting images in LR 5.3 with resize setting of "short edge" does not re-size the image at all when the option for "do not enlarge" is checked. Instead it simply exports the full sized image. This happens even if you are trying to downsize an image (in my case from a 24MP image to one that is 800px wide), in other words you are not enlarging the photos so the option for "do not enlarge" should not apply.
Other sizing options like "long edge" appear to work as expected.Have tried restarting LR but no effect. Have tried changing export setting and then changing back to "short edge", again no effect.
I am following a tutorial Using Layers in PSE 11. The presenter selects the Elliptical Marquee tool to edit cuts. I do not see the Elliptical Marquee tool in my PSE 11?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with PhotoShop CC. I also tested PhotoShop CS5 and PhotoShop CS6, having the same problems (last versions of them). Plugins for PhotoShop are not installed.
My System:
Windows 7 64 Bit with SP1 (newest updates german version)
Intel Core i7-4770k CPU 3.5 Ghz
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
GPU: GeForce GTX 760 2048 MB MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC
MainBoard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
Monitor: Asus PB248Q 1920 x 1200 60 Hz (connected with Display Port)
All Drivers (GPU, ChipSet of MainBoard) are up to date.
My Problem is that the Brush or rubber tool is 0,5 to 1 seconds slower than the mouse cursor. The stroke trails behind. But the brush tool still runs smooth and fluently. Its just slower than the mouse. When mouse stops moving, the brush catch up. The brush even trails behind when cursor is moving slow. When cursor is moving faster, sbrush also moves faster, but brush is never as fast as cursor. Only when cursor does not move, brush catch up.
This even happens when simple brushes for example simple round brush with 100 hardness and 10 pixel of size are used. When removing Smooting in brush settings, brush tool become much faster, but not as fast as cursor. This behaviour occurs in 64 and 32 Bit Version of PhotoShop. Also, GPU Settings was changed (Basic, Normal, Advanced), but without results.
When Aero-Surface in windows 7 is disabled, brush tool works much faster, but not smooth and fluently anymore. This also happens when I am working with a document containing only one single layer.I also tested all GPU Settings in PhotoShop (Basic, Normal and Advance), still the same problem.
PhotoShop uses 60% of my Ram (8793 MB)
The strange thing is: When I installed PHotoShop CS5 on my 8 years old computer with Windows XP, Brush tool with same settings was as fast as mouse cursor and it runs really smooth and fluently. The main difference is that my new Computer is using Windows 7, the old one uses Windows XP 32 Bit.
Old System:
Windows XP 32 Bit
AMd Athlon X2 3700+
2 GB RAM
GeForce 7800 GTX (connected with DVI to monitor)
Can it be that PhotoShop has problems with Aero Surface of Windows 7? Or with Windows 7 64 Bit?
I hit the zoom tool to zoom in on my document. Say I want to zoom in 5 times. After zooming in once (clicking on the document once), the magnifying glass switches to the move tool cursor If I click again, slowly, it goes back to zooming.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when I try to zoom with the mouse wheel it just won't let me to. I have to pan around and then it'll let me zoom again. That's extremely irritating. I've never encountered such problem in previous versions of Max. I have the service pack and both hotfixes installed.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using Photoshop CS5 version 12.0.4. I recently updated my video driver, and now I'm having a problem with my zoom tool.
Basically, I used to be able to select the zoom tool, then click and drag to draw a "box" around whatever I want to zoom in on. This is the behavior I want.
Right now, however, if I select the zoom tool, the behavior is that instead of getting the "box," it just zooms as I'm dragging. That is, I click, hold down my button, and when I drag to draw the box, I instead end up zooming in (or out, if I drag the other way) of my image, until I let go of holding down the button.
I used the Zoom Tool I got a + and then if I wanted to Zoom out I would press Alt. It has now reversed so that when I click the Zoom Tool it opens as -. I have obviously done something but I don't know what it is. What do I do to make the Zoom Tool open as +.

When I save the image it saves it as the original size.
CS2.
does anybody ever find themselves getting locked in the Zoom tool? there's a few times when i'll do a bit of art, then zoom in or out, and after then i can't change from the Zoom tool. usually have to frick around pressing all kinds of keys and changing windows before it'll release. i thought it might have been XP's "sticky keys" feature but i've checked and all the options are disabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn all other versions of PS I was able to zoom using either a scroll button on a mouse or when I was Mac a pinch gesture. In CS6 it seems that the only way to zoom is to select the zoom tool then there's a variety of different ways to zoom. Is there a way to not have to select the zoom tool first like it used to be? I am using a synaptics gesture touchpad, Windows 7. I am able to pinch to zoom in most all other applications.
Also, another issue I see in CS6 which is causing an extra step from old versions- the "window-arrange- tile all" had a button on the menu bar. how to get those buttons back on the bar.
How do I set the zoom tool in CS5 so it is dynamic? I don't like the little + and - symbols. I want to drag on parts of the image.

lightroom 4.1

Raw images from Canon 7D
I've used lightroom for a few weeks. I was playing around with the Navigation bar settings. Now my zoom won't work.
1. When I move the cursor near a corner or edge of the photo, the cursor appears as a magnifying glass, and the zoom works just fine.
2. When the cursor is anywhere else on the photo, then the cursor appears as an arrow symbol. And when I click once or twice on the photo in order to zoom, the photo being displayed just switches to another other photo a few behind or forward in the sequence.
I used to be able to click or double click anywhere on the photo being displayed, and I could zoom in on that spot. I wish lightroom were working as it was.
I am using Photoshop CS5.1 on a Windows 7 laptop. Its about 3-4 years old. But this problem has started only recently. Every time I use the section tool, it will almost always break my scrubby zoom and makes a weird, glitch looking box. (as shown)
It also drops the quality of my images slightly. Does this have to do with my video card?
why do i have to write the text again, after registration? I was quite amused, that i couldn't find out, how to scale images in a slideshow to full screen. i tried it with the zoom to fill frame option, but actually nothing happened.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I mix 720p and 1080p videos in a slideshow the "zoom to fil frame" option does not behave as expected. The videos occupy different areas of the screen while presenting. 1080p fills the whole screen, 720p videos only a part of the screen. So no filling at all. Bug or feature?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBug in CS4 - when starting a new selection (Marquee Tool), random sized boxes will appear BEFORE dragging and releasing the mouse button to define a selection. The boxes will often extend from the first mouse click to an image edge, but it's unpredictable. I need to release the mouse button, deselect (left click), and then start over again. Once this behavior begins, it can recur repeatedly, making marquee selections VERY frustrating. It also occurs with the zoom tool.
I´m running Photoshop CS4 on a brand new Dell Latitude (integrated Intel graphics) on Windows 7. The CS4 is also a brand new installation. I´ve tried a couple of different mice and also disabling Open GL. I had the same issue on other laptops I used over the years but not on all of them.Actually there was a thread on this issue a while ago but it seems to be closed now and no satisfactory answer was provided. Using the zoom tool, there is a check box to select whether a zoom will also "Resize window to fit." Is there a way, using the _keyboard_, to select or toggle whether I want the window to resize when I use the zoom tool? I often want to go back and forth between asking for the resize and prohibiting it, but I don't want to have to go up with the mouse to click on that little check box all the time.
View 4 Replies View RelatedCurrently in PS and Camera raw, double-clicking the Hand tool fits the document and double clicking the zoom tool zooms to 100% (1:1 pixels)
This isn't good since it's completely unusable:
- dbl click zoom shows 100% - there's nothing to zoom, since it's zoomed...
- dbl click hand shows the image fit to window - the hand tool wouldn't make anything
switch the current double click behavior on Zoom and Hand tools so:
- dbl click hand shows 100% (1:1 pixels) so I can look around and see details
- dbl click zoom shows fit to window so I can zoom in to a region I want
I checked my preferences and OpenGL is enabled, so I don't understand why it randomly stops working when I'm trying to get work done. Been working for less than four hours today and have had to restart Photoshop CS5.5 6 times. It starts working for a little while, then the "Scrubby Zoom" box becomes greyed out and the shortcut doesn't work as well.
Also when I hit space (hand tool) to drag the image around, that stops working at the same time as the zoom. I'm using an Intuos4 with this, haven't had problems with it until recently but there haven't been any significant changes in my machine (PC), which has a nice graphics card, processor, etc. I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it has something to do with my browser being open at the same time as PS?
I've used Photoshop 7 for around a year now, using it mainly to touch up digital photos. I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS, but I've found that I'm having difficulties with my keyboard.
Usually, to zoom in, I can press CTRL + +. However, when I do this, nothing happens. Also, when I make a mistake with the magnetic lasso tool, I can usually press my Delete key to undo the last fixed point. Again, this doesn't work. All that is on on my keyboard is "Number Lock", which just allows me to use the right hand number keypad. Even with this off, the problems still aren't solved.
So I can zoom in align the Straighten Tool precisely to the edge of something..
